2000 Ferrari 360 Modena

Silver on Black      Hard to find 6-Speed

When the 360 Modena replaced the F355 in Ferrari's line-up, it was leaps and bounds ahead technologically, and was absolutely gorgeous.

This remarkable automobile still looks futuristic and modern to this day. Compared to prior Ferrari's, the running costs are actually quite reasonable and the cars have proven to be quite durable over the years.

This particular car is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, with a service completed a few hundred miles ago. Owned by the same, local individual for the last 6 years, the car has been babied and reserved for special occasions. The car drives perfectly, shifts smoothly, run strongly and everything functions as it should.

This is a standard transmission car, and we much prefer the manual 6 speed as opposed to the early F1 gearboxes, a more visceral connection to the car and less trouble to boot.

The car comes complete with books, tool kit, car cover and both keys. We do have service records on the car. We can arrange to have the belts done prior to delivery should the right deal be reached.

Feel free to email, or call with any questions you may have, 503-475-8078 Josh, or 503-819-9007 Matt.

Remember that if you bid and win you will be expected to complete the transaction.

We are happy to assist in arranging shipping worldwide.

1964 Ferrari 250 GTO sees Petrolicious embracing gorgeousness

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

We've never, ever accused Petrolicious of slacking when it comes to the quality of cars it features. Each week brings a new, exciting, rare vehicle that has some special quality or provenance to it. But this week's video... it's beyond everything else the series has ever done.
That's because it stars the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, also known as (possibly) the most expensive vehicle ever sold. Only 36 were ever built, and this particular 1964 example was the first of the Series II range. Rather than some tinkerer or restorer behind the wheel of this masterpiece, Derek Hill, son of the first American Formula One World Champion, Phil Hill, is on hand for the interview and is slotted into the tight cockpit of the Rosso Corsa masterpiece.
This particular GTO was raced multiple times by Hill Sr., and it recorded wins at Daytona and Nassau, thanks in part to its 300-horsepower, 3.0-liter V12 engine. That makes it a bit special for the younger Hill, who can speak with some authority about this car's provenance - and wheel it rather well himself, as he's a fairly accomplished racer in his own right. Of course, if you're like us, you'll forget everything Hill says and will go completely slack-jawed as soon as that V12 starts to sing.

Rosberg survives the Mexican mess | 2016 Mexican Grand Prix recap

Mon, Oct 31 2016

Roughly ten messy laps defined the Mexican Grand Prix – five laps at the start and five at the end. Those laps included a couple of actual wrecks and a few more near wrecks that turned the entire day into chaos. To have any chance of winning the 2016 Driver's Championship, Lewis Hamilton needed to get his Mercedes-AMG Petronas across the finish line ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg. Once again we got a weekend full of vintage Hamilton, the Brit dominating the from Friday to Sunday, except for the first corner of the first lap. Pole-sitter Hamilton reached Turn 1 clearly in front of the field. But he couldn't make the corner and stay on track, so he zipped into the runoff area and over the grass, rejoining at Turn 3 still ahead of the field. The stewards didn't penalize Hamilton, one commentator's explanation being that Hamilton "was not battling another car." The non-action left car #44 to enjoy a lights-to-flag win. At that very same corner, Rosberg also availed himself of the runoff area. His infraction seemed destined to incur a penalty until replays showed that Max Verstappen in the Red Bull slid wide and bumped Rosberg, causing the German to go off track. No penalties were handed out there, either. Verstappen would return to hound Rosberg later in the race when angling for second place. Verstappen took a stab through Turn 4 on Lap 50 of the 71-lap race, but ran off the track and lost touch with the Mercedes by Lap 55. Ferrari got half of its strategy right in Mexico, putting Sebastian Vettel hard on the charge in the final stint. The German got within DRS range of Verstappen on Lap 67, with Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo a little more than a second behind Vettel. On Lap 68, Verstappen pulled the same move as Hamilton at the beginning of the race: the Dutchman ran wide through Turn 1, zoomed over the grass and rejoined the track at Turn 3, staying ahead of Vettel the whole time. With three laps remaining, the stewards chose to investigate after the race. In spite of Verstappen's own team telling he probably needed to cede position to Vettel, Verstappen stayed in front and slowed just enough to put Vettel under threat from Ricciardo. On Lap 70 Ricciardo had closed up to Vettel's gearbox. Headed for Turn 4, Vettel swung outside to take the corner. When Ricciardo moved inside to pass, Vettel moved inside to block the Aussie while both cars were in the braking zone. The Ferrari made light contact with the Red Bull, but Vettel held his position through Turn 5.

This is what it's like to drive Magnum PI's Ferrari 308

Sat, 26 Oct 2013

In the pantheon of 80s pop culture, few cars have such provenance as the Ferrari 308. Sure, vehicular icons like the DeLorean and Pontiac Trans Am (especially in time machine and KITT guise) made us swoon back in the day, but there's something about the bright red Italian that makes it stand out; perhaps it is the 308's performance credibility, at least when compared to other memorable cars of its ilk.
Our fondness for Magnum PI's Ferrari 308 is shared by Oscar Verdugo, who's featured in the video you'll see below. Brought to you by theAFICIONAUTO, this video highlights the bond between the men and women who own and love such so-called star cars, and it focuses on one particular 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSI.
