Ferrari 355 Spider 1998 6 Speed

I honestly believe that this has to be one of the best 355 Ferrari for sale at the moment, quite a statement.... but just take a look.......almost the last of the line a 1998 Spider finished in stunning NART Blue 253 with dark blue top and tan interior, it has the much more desirable 6 speed manual transmission with the signature Ferrari shift gate and it has covered only 9,122 miles from new.
When the 355 first appeared, nearly all cars were ordered with the F1 transmission, pretty much a revolutionary system developed by Ferrari from its F1 program, well the years have moved on and that system is really quite antiquated by todays standards, its also costly to repair, the 6 speed is not only rare its a joy to drive and instantaneously responsive.

Carfax & History
The super clean Carfax report details four owners from new, but one is simply a dealer who transferred the title and held the 355 for only one month, there are no faults or damage recorded and it lists this car as a + on the pricing guide. As for servicing there are several records but of most importantly it documents a full Cam Belt service including engine oil, gearbox oil, plugs, brake fluid, coolant and all accessory belts in January of 2012 at 8,213 miles by official Ferrari dealer Lake Forest Sports Cars. Quite recently the roof has been overhauled and serviced by a local specialist to the tune of close to $6000:00

Exterior
The exterior is as close to flawless as you could find, I have found only a few chips on the whole car, panel fit is perfect, the soft top looks like new, windows and lights are clear and bright and the doors clunk shut effortlessly. All door furniture is in excellent shape, plating is as new and resplendent in its original Cad/ Zinc plating

Interior
The leather is lovely and fitting of its super low miles, seats are supple and soft,  The only leather flaw is to the bolster on the left of the drivers seat, it has some minimal color wear on just a tiny patch, carpets are excellent, the dashboard is perfect throughout with no lifting at the corners. The Air Bag cover is slightly rippled as can be seen in the pictures and the plastic surfaces of the switches have some lifting but no serious "sticky" areas as is typical of the 348 and 355 models.

Motor & Drivetrain
As you would expect the motor starts and runs flawlessly, gears are engaged with ease and there are no road dramas whatsoever, brakes pull up effortlessly.

I would consider this car of collector standard, coupled with its unique color scheme, low miles and most importantly the 6 Speed Manual gearbox, with prices rising of the 355 models this particular car has to be at the forefront of values. The soft top boot, tool kit and a car cover are included, the original books are not with the car.

The usual stuff
I am a licensed California Car Dealer, and therefore must collect all applicable California sales and use taxes due to buyers in California, if you are an out of state buyer the only way to avoid these taxes is to have the vehicle transported to your home state by a bonded carrier which we can arrange. Payment is due in full within seven days of auctions end. Any reasonable inspection is welcome before auctions end at buyers expense. You are welcome to call me on 925 789 9825 at any reasonable time
Please note, this is not a computer game your bid is a binding contract.

Former Ferrari chief Montezemolo to be chairman of Alitalia

Mon, 10 Nov 2014

Luca di Montezemolo may be 67 years old, but he's not quite ready to retire just yet. Not, at least, if the latest reports emanating from Italy are to be believed. According to Reuters, the longtime former Ferrari chief is due to be named chairman of Alitalia.
The troubled Italian airline is on the verge of being bailed out after years of financial difficulty, with Etihad Airways of the United Arab Emirates set to take a 49-percent stake in the company. While the reports have yet to be confirmed by the parties involved, Reuters cites multiple inside sources in revealing that the airline's board met last week and agreed to appoint Montezemolo as chairman, with current Etihad chief James Hogan to act as chief executive officer.
Montezemolo, of course, long served as chairman of Ferrari, having assumed leadership of the company not long after founder Enzo Ferrari died. He also served as chairman of the Fiat group for several years after the passing of Umberto Agnelli, and has headed numerous trade organizations and sporting bodies. But his tenure at Ferrari and the broader Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire came to an end two months ago when clashes with Fiat chief Sergio Marchionne saw Montezemolo step down.

Bid on Floyd Mayweather's Ferrari Enzo in New York

Mon, Nov 2 2015

Floyd Mayweather has a bit of a thing for supercars. Heck, he bought 100 cars from one dealership alone. While his Ferrari Enzo is just one of many impressive cars in his collection, it's certainly special. And it's for sale. The 295th example in a run of 400 was done up in Rosso Corsa over black leather and sold new to a buyer in Dubai who barely ever drove it. Mayweather bought it from its original owner last year and put it in his collection, alongside so many other Ferraris and Bugattis. He only drove it some 200 miles, though, leaving this as one of the lowest-mileage Enzos around with just 560 miles on the odometer. Now that Mayweather is retired, he's putting the Enzo up for auction, consigning it to RM Sotheby's for its upcoming Driven By Disruption sale in New York next month. The record for the highest price paid for an Enzo at auction currently stands at over $6 million, set at Monterey this past summer by - you guessed it - RM Sotheby's. But that was the very last example, made for Pope John Paul II, with just 111 miles on it. The next highest price (also achieved by RM) was recorded a year prior at $1.925 million. That all-black example had three owners who clocked over 8,000 miles on it. The auction house anticipates that this example will sell for $3-3.5 million. Given the celebrity provenance and low mileage on this example, we won't be at all surprised to see it reach that amount. 2003 Ferrari Enzo Chassis no. ZFFCW56A130135440 Engine no. 79706 Assembly no. 52427 660 bhp, 5,998 cc DOHC 65-degree V-12 engine with Bosch Motronic engine management and electronic fuel injection, six-speed electro-hydraulic computer-controlled sequential F1 transmission, limited-slip differential and traction control, front and rear pushrod-actuated double wishbones with horizontal external reservoir coil-spring damper units, and four-wheel ventilated carbon-ceramic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 104 in. - The 295th Enzo of 400 produced - Just two owners and 560 miles from new - Formerly owned by renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather - Surely one of the finest Enzos extant FERRARI'S 21ST CENTURY SUPERCAR At the Paris Motor Show in 2002, the pressure was on for Ferrari to unveil its latest supercar. The company was back on top after years of struggling both in motorsport and in sales, and it was clear that their next supercar, the successor to the Ferrari F50, would be a monumental milestone for the company.

Multimillion-dollar Ferraris line up for Pebble Beach

Sat, Jul 18 2015

Wherever high-value classic cars are being sold, you can bet that vintage Ferraris will be topping the list. Especially at Pebble Beach. And that's precisely the auction for which Gooding & Company has lined up a trio of multi-million-dollar examples. Arguably the most enticing (and sure to fetch the highest price) of them all is a classic red 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, complete with the highly-coveted covered headlights – just like the one in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Chassis number 3095 GT is one of just 37 made in this configuration. It's been fully documented and certified, but not restored. This is the first time this particular example will be offered in the United States, and Gooding expects it will fetch around $17 million - placing it at the high end of the Sports Car Market database of prices paid for 250s of any kind. Joining the California Spider is a striking 1957 Ferrari 410 Superamerica – the fastest road-going sports car of its time with a top speed in excess of 150 miles per hour. Painted in metallic grey with a contrasting dark red roof and red leather interior, this Series II coupe was purchased by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran. It went with his wife following their divorce, and was awarded first in class at Pebble Beach in 1978. It's projected to raise between five or six million in financial scholarships, potentially eclipsing any record for Superamericas to date. Finally, in what could be a footnote only in this rarefied company, is a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast that boasts similarly lofty provenance, having been delivered new to Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan. In stunning dark blue with red leather, chassis 6049 SA is anticipated to sell for over $3 million (over a million more than any Superfast yet) when the gavel drops at the Concours d'Elegance next month. Gooding & Company Announces Multiple Show-Stopping Ferraris Including a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider to Headline Pebble Beach Auctions This quintessential open-air Ferrari is expected to set record-breaking numbers when it crosses the block this August SANTA MONICA, Calif. (July 14, 2015) – Gooding & Company, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance®, is pleased to announce the addition of three unparalleled classic Ferraris to its sale in August – a 1961 250 GT SWB California Spider, a 1957 410 Superamerica Series II Coupe, and a 1965 500 Superfast.
