This is perhaps the rarest and most striking of all F355 Ferrari Spiders. It is the only known Le Mans Blue with a Bordeaux interior in the world in this configuration. The only other known Le Mans Blue with a Bordeaux interior is located in England and it is right and drive and has the terribly slow F1 transmission.
This is a classic color combination that was very popular in the 50s and 60s and found on period Ferraris and Maserati.
The typical shrinking leather dash on the F355 was just addressed with thousands spent on new leather. Similarly, the red leather cover for the top is also new. The red leather interior, including the very expensive option of a full red leather dash and matching steering wheel, is in excellent condition as are the beautifully contrasting navy carpets with matching Ferrari original navy floor mats.
A full belt service was just performed in March of 2013 and the Ferrari is running flawlessly.
The top was serviced and is working as it should.
The top is navy blue.
I have known of this car since 2005 when it was for sale in Greenwich CT by Hunting Ridge Motors. (I even have photos from when the dealer offered the car for sale back then.) They sold the car to a gentleman in California. He proceeded to hit the curb with the right rear wheel and cause damage to the front bumper on the lower left side. This bent the lower control arm and the drive shaft. For reasons unknown to me, the owner was paid off and the car then sold at an insurance auction for a very substantial sum several years ago. I attended the auction but was outbid. There was no body damage and no mechanical damage.
The damage was very typical for performance cars that owners often fishtail when applying too much throttle, e.g., bending a lower control arm and damaging a wheel on the right rear.
Inspections are welcome. See for yourself how nice a car this is with just 17k miles! And she drives like she has only 17k miles. Tight and solid!
The 355 is a great investment. It's the end of the Enzo era inspired cars and they made very few with just over 3k spiders being made for the world. Compare that to the 360 where Ferrari made more than 13,000 of that model! This is the end of the small, svelte go kart like handling Ferraris.
It sounds more like an F1 car than any other Ferrari (except the F1 cars of course)
It has 5 valve per cylinder
It is the last of the Ferrari with a manual transmission and a true throttle cable as opposed to indirect drive by wire found in the 360 and later cars. It is the best shifting, best driving true sports car from Ferrari.
The 458 is a sweet ride but it is over $200k, only comes with an automatic transmission, doesn't sound as good as the F355, and arguably as a spider doesn't look as good as the F355. If you are wanting a true classic yet modern Ferrari experience, the F355 is the only car that fits the bill. Fast, fun, sounds great, great to look at, limited production. These cars will only appreciate.
Spring is just around the corner. Miss this one and you miss this irreplaceable color combination in a low mileage classic.
Manual and tool kit included.

Ferrari wants to provide Red Bull with its own engines
Tue, Nov 10 2015Ferrari is proposing a different sort of arrangement that could provide Red Bull with the engines it needs to continue competing in Formula One. Rather than sell the team the same engines its own competition department uses, the Maranello outfit suggests creating a separate engineering program for Red Bull to get its own engine package. The issue of where Red Bull will get its engines has been looming over the paddock for several months. Though its current partnership with Renault yielded four straight world championships, the relationship has gone sour over the last couple of years as performance has dropped off. That has left Red Bull looking for a new engine supplier, but with Ferrari, Mercedes, and Honda all powering their own entries, none have been particularly keen to motivate Red Bull. A proposal to bring Volkswagen into the sport in partnership with the team fell apart in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal. And while the FIA may be moving ahead to bring an independent engine supplier into the series, that doesn't look likely to take shape in time for next season. Ferrari – like Mercedes and McLaren-Honda – says it won't simply hand one of its chief rivals the same engine package as it uses itself. But speaking to Motorsport.com at Ferrari's Finali Mondiali event at Mugello this weekend, Sergio Marchionne proposed a different course of action. That would involve making the building blocks of Ferrari's power unit, along with the wealth of its engineering talent, available to Red Bull for the team to plot its own engine development program in parallel to Maranello's own. The Ferrari chairman (and Fiat Chrysler chief) says he has already raised the idea with Red Bull chief Dietrich Mateschitz and his racing adviser Helmut Marko. If it does work out, we could potentially see Ferrari setting up similar programs with its other customer teams. Those currently include Sauber and Marussia, and Haas and Toro Rosso could soon join the mix as well. Adding Red Bull would mean that over half of the grid would be powered by Ferrari engines as soon as next season. Novitec shows off its version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast
Tue, Jan 22 2019It's hard to imagine improving upon the unbelievable Ferrari 812 Superfast, but Novitec now offers a way to do just that. Performance upgrades to the 789 horsepower 6.5-liter V12 are scheduled to come later, but there's no shortage of things you can tack on now. To begin, Novitec developed an aero package using carbon fiber. Developed in a wind tunnel, Novitec claims its package reduces front-axle lift after fitment of the front spoiler lip and surround for the center air intake. Carbon fiber rocker panels, a rear spoiler lip and carbon fiber rear fascia are all fitted to complete the carbon aero look. Novitec offers a lowering spring package that takes it down 1.37 inches, but improved dampers are not paired with. Since it's lowered, a lift kit can be installed, which can raise the front end by 1.57 inches with the press of a button. You'll be wanting this to save the very expensive carbon front lip we mentioned earlier. Larger wheels are added with a staggered 21-inch-front and 22-inch-rear setup. Novitec goes to the trouble of using a separate dye for each wheel so the shape of the spokes are tailored to the specific corner of the car the wheel goes on. This is cool because not only do you get a minute gain in brake cooling, but you also get to brag about your wild wheel setup. A couple different exhausts are available to make the 812 Superfast even louder than it already is. The one you'll want is made of Inconel, which is the same stuff used in Formula 1. This exhaust saves just over 24 pounds over the stock Ferrari exhaust system. A version with controlled exhaust flaps is possible, as well. We wish we could tell you how much a Novitec 812 Superfast costs with everything on it, but prices aren't available for it yet. Needless to say, Novitec knows it's pricing them for Ferrari owners, so you can bet everything will be expensive. A base 812 Superfast goes for about $335,000, but we imagine there aren't many of those in the world. Related video:
Hamilton wins at Monza, takes Formula One lead from Vettel
Sun, Sep 3 2017MONZA, Italy (Reuters) - Lewis Hamilton won the Italian Grand Prix for Mercedes on Sunday with an utterly dominant drive that sent the Briton clear at the top of the Formula One world championship for the first time in a year. The triple champion, who started the last race of the European season from a record 69th career pole position, led Finnish team mate Valtteri Bottas to a runaway one-two finish at Ferrari's home track. "I love it here in Italy and I love the passion of the fans," Hamilton declared on the podium jutting out over a sea of red-shirted Ferrari fans, with plenty of boos coming his way amid the cheers. "We did a great job, the team did an exceptional job this weekend," he added. "Mercedes power is definitely better than Ferrari power." Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who had led the standings since he won the Australian season-opener in March, finished third in the final race of the European season and 36.3 seconds behind the winner. Bottas was 4.4 adrift of Hamilton. "It was a difficult day, a difficult start," said Vettel. "My race was fairly isolated, we tried to keep as close as possible but we simply didn't have the pace... You could say it's a bad day but I know the team is on the right way... so I am in a very positive mood despite the numbers." Hamilton is now three points clear of the German, with seven races remaining. Mercedes are 62 points clear of Ferrari in the constructors' standings. The first driver to win two races in a row this season, with Monza following on from Belgium a week ago, Hamilton now leads Vettel 6-4 on victories in 2017. He has 238 points to Vettel's 235. The last time Hamilton led the standings on his own was at Monza a year ago, with now-retired team mate Nico Rosberg emerging as the eventual champion. FEW THRILLS Hamilton and four-times champion Vettel were level on points this year after China in April, with one win and one second place each. If Sunday's race was a dull affair, there was at least plenty of sunshine in marked contrast to the steady rain that drenched fans and delayed qualifying for hours on Saturday. Hamilton pulled away cleanly from his historic pole, and fourth in a row at Monza, and was never challenged as he drove to the chequered flag with the minimum of fuss. It was his third Italian Grand Prix win in four years and 59th career victory – only Michael Schumacher, whose pole record he beat, can boast more – and few have been more straightforward.
