1998 FERRARI F355 SPIDER, showroom condition in a very rare
and desirable color combination of Titanium metallic over dark red interior
with a black top and contrasting red Ferrari-Brembo brake calipers. The
optional titanium paint was only offered on later model 355 Ferrari F355 (e.g.,
not available 1995-1996) and this is one of only 10 F355’s make with the
color combination of Grigio Titanio and red leather. Lots of upgrades including $10,000 spent on upgraded
3-PIECE custom HRE wheels with substantially wider front and rear tires, a
sweet sounding Capristo exhaust, Momo steering wheel (original wheel included),
MACarbon carbon fibre door sills as well as upgraded OEM Ferrari
disks and brakes. The major service engine-out service was completed in
March 2012 at 21,400 miles, The car comes with the original manuals, toolkit as well as
the original Ferraro car and wheel cover This is a stunning looking car that runs well. A great
investment as the F355 is now at the bottom of its depreciation curve and, if
you have been watching the market, they're now appreciating. According to most all polls, the majority of Ferrari owners
feel the F355 is the best looking of all the modern V8 Ferraris (360-430), at
least until the $300,000 458. Also important is the fact that this is a six speed. Ferrari
is not making them anymore and you don’t have to worry about a $14K hydraulic
pump failing. There is NO comparison, the F1 in a 355 is not good. Ferrari manufactured more than 13,000 360 Modenas while they
produced just 2,664 F355 Spiders for the entire world. That’s it. A total of
just 2,664 Spiders. This rarity combined with its stellar reviews and that
Formula 1 race car sound, assures the F355 of collector car status. It’s not
all that long ago Dinos were $30k. Now they’re five to seven times that sum.
Legendary racer Phil Hill said the F355 is one of the top ten Ferraris of all
time. |

This Ferrari Superamerica Aerodinamico can be yours for $3 million
Mon, Dec 28 2015Introduced at the 1959 Turin Motor Show, the 400 Superamerica represented the finest and fastest grand tourer Ferrari had ever made. The Colombo-designed 3.0-liter V12 engine from the 250 GT was bored out to 4.0 liters, the drum brakes from the previous 410 Superamerica were replaced by disc brakes at all four corners, and the four-speed manual fitted with overdrive. The original convertible was followed by a svelte Aerodinamico coupe at the same show a year later, which was in turn succeeded by the longer version you see here. This was the first such long-wheelbase model Ferrari built, and was displayed at both the Earls Court Motor Show and Chicago Auto Show in 1962. It was one of only 18 made, of which 14 featured the highly desirable covered headlights. Chassis number 3931 SA was done up in silver with a black interior, has traded hands over the years between owners in the United States, Japan, and Europe. It is now consigned to RM Sotheby's for its upcoming sale in Paris on February 3, where the auction house expects it to as much as $3.6 million. The same auctioneers sold another such long-wheelbase Superamerica Aerodinamico for $2.86 million in Texas this past May, where it also sold a short-wheelbase convertible for a record $7.6 million. Sports Car Market also records that Gooding & Company sold an earlier short-wheelbase coupe for over $4 million in Scottsdale last January. Paris 3 February 2016 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica LWB Coupe Aerodinamico by Pininfarina - Chassis no. 3931 SA - Engine no. 3931 340 bhp, 3,967 cc SOHC V-12 engine with three Weber 40 DCZ 6 carburettors, four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, independent front suspension with unequal-length A-arms and coil springs, live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and parallel trailing arms, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,600 mm - 1962 Earls Court and Chicago Motor Show car - The first of only 18 second-series long-wheelbase examples - Previously of the renowned Yoshiho Matsuda Collection - Beautifully presented in its original colour combination of Grigio Argento over Nero - Matching-numbers example; a grand touring Ferrari par excellence THE 400 SUPERAMERICA AERODINAMICO By the 1950s, Ferrari had established itself not only as a world-class manufacturer of sports racing cars but also as a manufacturer of the world's best grand touring cars for the road.
BMW hires Ferrari chief engineer Fedeli
Wed, 08 Oct 2014There's going to be a little bit more Prancing Horse in some future BMWs because the Bavarian brand is hiring Ferrari chief engineer Roberto Fedeli to join the company in November. Fedeli's new position is still somewhat of a mystery though, and he reportedly might be lending his talents to the high performance M division or possibly even Rolls-Royce. When asked by Automotive News Europe, BMW said that it "currently can't say what his role will be."
Regardless of his new job, Fedeli was a big get for BMW because of his strong résumé. He has been with Ferrari since 1988 and led the engineering for the famous Italian automaker's vehicles since 2007. Fedeli tendered his resignation in September at around the same time that chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced his decision to leave the company. However, Ferrari told ANE that there was no connection between the two events.
Top Gear brings together LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918
Mon, Jan 26 2015Earlier this month, Top Gear released a brief video of the comparison test between three hybrid hypercars we'd all been waiting for: the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. The story was done by the print magazine and not by the television show, and the video they released was barely over half a minute long, reserving the full version for subscribers of the iPad edition. Now the British mag has put the full video on YouTube, and while it's still only a minute and a half long – three times the length of the previous teaser – it's packed with electrified exotic goodness. The test surely took some serious wrangling to put together, and though the metal (or carbon fiber, as the case may be) was apparently furnished mostly by private owners, to hear Top Gear tell it, the manufacturers – Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche – were eager and helpful in putting the showdown together. For the final conclusions, we're afraid you'll still have to buy the magazine, but for a rare chance to watch all these three world-beaters on the same road at the same time, you'll want to scope out this latest video clip.
