Ferrari 348 Spider on 2040-cars
Mount Kisco, New York, United States
1994 348 Ferrari Spider This is a Californian car that originally came from Beverly Hills Ferrari, I also purchased this car from Beverly Hills (not main dealer) for a Christmas present for my wife last December (2012), however unfortunately for me she did not drive it once (crazy woman). I have done approximately 1,000 miles on the car since purchased (would have done many more, as its simply fantastic, but had to balance it not looking like I purchased it for myself). I personally could not resist the car, as it was one of the cleanest examples I have ever seen (you could eat off of the engine). Drives great and the engine runs tight with a beautiful sound (like an F1). Small blemish on the paint about thumbnail size (see picture) plus seat belt on passenger side needs a new cover on the clasp. Did not take pictures of roof, but its basically in great condition and can take and send as required (more pictures on flickr which I can send a link). Pictures tell a true story and it starts on the button every time. The only reason I am selling is we have recently moved to our New York house (in September 2013) and I have had my car collection shipped and just don’t have the room to keep them all, so have to sell a couple of them. As mentioned I have had my cars shipped to New York including the Ferrari, not registered it in NY, hence the CA number plates.

You can apply to attempt to break the world record for fastest blindfolded driver [w/video]
Sat, 07 Jun 2014The Guinness-certified world record for "fastest speed for a car driven blindfolded" is 186.12 miles per hour, set by Mike Newman in a Porsche GT2 last year at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in England. Then earlier this year, Newman said he'd go for the 200 mph mark - something he might want to talk to fellow Bruntingthorpe speed demons Vmax200 about. UK firm Extreme Motorsport, which seems to have been set up solely to set blindfold driving and riding records, wants to wrest the record from Newman using a Ferrari 458 Challenge and the even longer runway at Elvington Airfield in York, England.
Strangely, it appears the terms "legally blind" and "blindfolded" equate to the same thing. The Guinness record and Extreme Sports say "blindfolded," but Newman and the man who held the record before him, Turkish pop singer Metin Sentürk, are legally blind and neither of them wore blindfolds during their record attempts.
No matter - the real point is that Extreme Motorsport is casting about for a driver to set a new record. The could-be-shady part is that Extreme is pretty vague about what's involved; they'll provide the car or the motorcycle, but you have to "choose a charity and pledge to give them all the funds you raise above the entrance fee and for any other personal expenses you may need to participate in the challenge." Extreme doesn't give any indication of how much that entrance fee might be.
Chris Harris enjoys the song of a Ferrari 212
Fri, May 8 2015We often see Chris Harris sliding around in the modern elite of supercars, but he eschews every bit of the cutting edge in his latest clip for the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an absolute classic. Harris drives a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta with a body by Touring, and the Italian hills come alive with the sound of this little car's beautiful music. The V12 engine that's nestled under the Barchetta's hood might be short on displacement, but this thing can absolutely roar. It thunders down the road under hard acceleration and then makes a symphony of pops and snaps as the driver downshifts into a corner. You can own this Ferrari, too. RM Auctions is selling it, but the reserve is somewhere between 5 million and 7 million euros ($5.6 million - $7.9 million). Given Harris' proclivity to slide just about anything he drives, do you think he drifts this Barchetta? Watch the video to find out, and it's probably worth turning up the speakers, too.
Ferrari to debut new twin-turbo California in the spring
Wed, 18 Dec 2013Ferrari hadn't made a turbocharged engine since the F40 ended its production cycle in 1992. But that all changed when it helped Maserati develop its new 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8. That turbo engine has so far been shoehorned into the Quattroporte, along with its 3.0-liter V6 cousin that also powers the smaller Ghibli. But soon it'll wear the Prancing Horse badge as further details emerge on the next-generation California.
Set to arrive in time for the spring (likely to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March), the new California will reportedly ditch its naturally-aspirated V8 in favor of a reworked version of the Quattroporte's twin-turbo unit, which at 523 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque is already considerably more muscular than the current California's 483 hp and 372 lb-ft.
The new California will likely be closely based on the outgoing model, but benefit from revised aluminum sheetmetal and an updated cabin with a new infotainment system - two areas in which the current model has scored low marks.
