I spotted this car in San Jose at Roselli's Foreign cars (a Repair Shop I have used over the years with a Dino 246 and Mondial)  about 2 years ago and bought it. The car was It was originally from Texas, then it lived in Santa Monica. The car had 18,000 miles when I purchased it has 22,500 on the odometer. The car comes with a web site. E bay will not allow a hyper link, but if you search for "Ferrarri 348 GTS" it should come up. I have used it to store pics and videos that are not on this auction.

I have done a bit of work on the car, Roselli's put in a new clutch, etc. new starter, battery, we did a big fuel injector clean out. It is going in Monday for a new timing belt. That seems to be the main worry on these cars. The control panel for the heater is now working.
The car was super quick after the fuel injectors were clean. The car is great, runs very well, looks fantastic. I have the original window sticker for $121,000 and all documents and records. The car is missing the tool kit, I do have the manuals. There are a few very small chips in the paint, no dings or dents. There are a few chips in the front spoiler, I will add detailed photos soon.

I have the car priced at $48,500 I would consider trades up to $15k plus cash. Frank Balistreri, 405.375.0442

The spiders built by Ferrari have always been a perfect expression of their sporting heritage. It was this very heritage that inspired Pininfarina stylists as they set about designing the spider to clothe the refined 348 series chassis. The result was a car that offered the same impressive performance as the berlinetta, with a remarkably flex free chassis, as well as the possibility of true top down motoring. Ferrari spiders have always epitomised the marque sporting heritage. It was that heritage that inspired the designers when they set about clothing this superb chassis and running gear. The Pininfarina designed 348 Spider was the latest in this long and glorious line when it debuted in 1993. The two seater 348 Spider had a steel and aluminium body. The soft top was canvas and beautifully integrated into the car s line, thanks to in depth wind tunnel testing. It folded, in fact, into a compartment behind the seats using a system that didn t impinge on either on longitudinal occupant comfort or fuel tank capacity. Its interior volumes and driver position were designed for maximum comfort given its sporty set up. The seats and trim were a plush Connolly leather. The 348 Spider had a steel monocoque with differentiated tubular elements and a tubular rear sub frame for the engine suspension assembly. The suspension was independent unequal length wishbones front and rear. It had coil springs over gas filled telescopic dampers, and stabiliser bars. The steering was rack and pinion. The car also had self venting disc brakes with ATE antiskid. The mid rear 3405 cc 90 V8 engine was mounted longitudinally and punched out 320 hp. It had twin overhead cams with four valves per cylinder and a Bosch M 2.7 control unit. The 348 GTB also had dry sump lubrication, a five speed plus reverse transverse gearbox in unit with the self locking differential, and a single plate dry clutch.

All four Ferrari hypercars hit Fiorano at once

Tue, May 5 2015

Some supercar fanatics would give anything for a chance to drive a Ferrari, much less one of its flagship hypercars. But this one lucky devil got to drive all four of 'em. At Fiorano. Of course this isn't just any old lucky devil. He's Dario Benuzzi, who's been Ferrari's chief test driver since 1969. That means he probably knows the company's private Fiorano test track better than anyone, and he has one of the best jobs in the world. But even this had to be a treat for Benuzzi, driving the F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari back to back around the circuit. (All they need now is a 288 GTO to round out the action, like one owner did when he drove down to Italy with his best buddies in a convoy of scarlet hypercars, pictured in the gallery below.) Watch the video above to see it all go down and to hear some of Benuzzi's impressions on the progress of the flagship Ferrari. Ferrari planning six-cylinder Dino revival?

Wed, Apr 8 2015

Ferrari swore up and down when it was developing the California that it wouldn't be an "entry-level" model. Whether that ultimately proved to be the case or not is up for debate, but it seems that the Prancing Horse marque is now preparing to launch a properly more accessible model in the near future. According to Motor Trend, Maranello is working on a new six-cylinder sports car to serve as the point of entry for new customers – especially in China. Tax implications there could mean the V6 would displace less than 3.0 liters, but likely pack a pair of turbochargers to ensure that output and performance live up to the Ferrari standard. Tipped to arrive in 2019, the six-cylinder model could materialize as a revival of sorts of the Dino line. Named after Enzo Ferrari's first-born son, the Dino sub-brand used mostly six-cylinder engines to take on the Porsche 911 on and off the track. The Dino 206 GT emerged in 1968, evolved into the larger-displacement 246 the following year and ultimately gave way to the very different, eight-cylinder, four-seat 308 GT4 in 1973, later to be rebadged as a proper Ferrari once the Dino brand was put to rest in '76. It's worth noting that Ferrari developed the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 for the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte, which would presumably serve as the basis for the new entry-level Ferrari. Though FCA typically endeavors to keep its brands from competing directly with one another, Maserati is due to release a production version of the Alfieri sports car concept within the next couple of years, powered by that same engine, and could share its underpinnings with the Ferrari model in question. The six-cylinder Prancing Horse could carry a price tag of around $180,000 to take on the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo, Mercedes-AMG GT, Audi R8 and the Sports Series which McLaren just kicked off with its new entry-level 570S. Miami Vice Ferrari Testarossa headed to auction

Thu, Jul 9 2015

Push up the sleeves on your suit jacket, get your favorite pastel T-shirt out of the closet and put on those Wayfarers for a trip to Monterey Car Week on the California coast. One of the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa hero cars from the hit '80s show Miami Vice is heading across the auction block there on Aug. 15. Even if you have no interest looking like Sonny Crockett, this is still a beautiful Prancing Horse. The story behind the Ferraris on Miami Vice is just as entertaining as the show. For the first two seasons, Don Johnson's Sonny Crockett drove a black Daytona Spyder, but in reality it was a C3 Corvette underneath. Ferrari reportedly threatened to sue the replica maker, and a compromise was worked out to cease production in exchange for two Testarossas. Originally black, they were repainted in white to pop better in night scenes. Mecum's example is part of that duo. Beyond the TV connection, this Testarossa is one of the early examples with the side mirror on a stalk that's perched high on the A-pillar. It still packs a 4.9-liter, 390-horsepower flat-12 engine paired with a five-speed, gated manual gearbox with a recent $8,000-engine-out service. Inside, there's cream leather and even a car phone that's period correct. This example is quoted with just 16,124 miles and authentication by Ferrari North America and Ferrari Classiche. Late last year, another white Testarossa showed up on eBay claiming to be one of the Miami Vice hero cars. The seller was asking for a $1.75-million Buy-It-Now for that one. It will be interesting to see how Mecum's Ferrari performs on the auction block in Monterey. "MIAMI VICE" HERO CAR SPEEDS INTO MECUM AUCTIONS MONTEREY 2015 Iconic 1986 Ferrari Testarossa to be offered at The Mecum Daytime Auction Aug. 15 WALWORTH, Wis. – July 7, 2015 – The star of the '80s-era television series "Miami Vice" is coming to the Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey this Aug. 13-15. No, not Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs—the flashy detectives played by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas who fought episode-after-episode against the seedy underworld of Miami—but their 1986 Ferrari Testarossa. This iconic supercar with its signature side strakes was one of the quintessential poster cars that found itself plastered on many a teenager's bedroom wall in the 1980s, and it will now be offered for sale at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa – Del Monte Golf Course this Aug. 15.
