1991 Ferrari 348 Ts Base Coupe 2-door 3.4l on 2040-cars
Spring, Texas, United States
I am selling my 348TS after
nearly 7 wonderful years of ownership. The car has been bullet proof - reliable
and fun throughout my ownership. It will make a great buy for someone wanting
their first Ferrari or for someone looking for a more analogue experience
compared to today's gizmo laden cars.
Exterior The car looks fabulous for something that is 22 years old - most people are shocked to believe it is not a new Ferrari. The paint is in great condition - The car received some paint work in 2012 to take care of road rash on the front/rear bumper. There are some minor swirls on the paint - normal for the age. The car has been garaged and lies under a car cover when at home. The wheels are in fine shape with a few nicks and scratches; see enclosed pictures. The wheel caps are slightly faded or cracked. Am providing a new set of wheel caps (all 4) for the owner to install as necessary. There is a clear bra installed on the front bumper, hood and mirrors to protect the paint. There is also a plastic shield to protect the expensive ($$$$) fog lamps and headlights.
My 348 has a unique look among all 348s for the
following reasons:
I do not have the original grill, engine cover. Interior Seats are in great shape – no tears. Has some minor wear on the driver’s side bolster. The roof fits perfectly – doesn’t leak during rains. The a/c panel shows sign of stickiness. I fixed this in 2008 but it has come back – this is a common feature on a Ferrari. Happens to all the cars. A little TLC can fix it. J All the instruments, buttons, gauges work. The seatbelt motors work perfectly (expensive to fix if it doesn’t – check this on all cars that you are buying). Comes with owner’s manual, warranty and service book, leather cover and an additionally a printed shop manual for DIYers. The following tasteful
(IMO) features were added:
I do not have the original parts. Mechanicals
·
Comes with tool kit
with everything in it. Service History The car comes with a thick dossier
of service records dating back to 2002 -
unlike most auction cars which come with zilch! Key highlights:
I have done my best to be as descriptive of the car as possible. In summary, I think the car is in great shape, has been well looked after and will make a great first Ferrari for a lucky someone. Hopefully you! |

Ferrari vs. Ferrari: Cut convertibles unloved by collectors?
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The New York Times' Wheels blog has a really interesting story on a pair of Ferraris that are set to be auctioned off in Monterey during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. While the two cars are similar on the surface, their differing histories and Ferrari's attitude towards one of them has led to a sort of experimental auction process.
On the one hand, we have one of ten 1967 275 GTB/4 NART Spiders, in the classic Rosso Corsa and appearing at RM Auctions and seen above. On the other, we have a Fly Yellow version that started life as a 1965 275 GTB Coupe, and was converted into a NART Spider. Called a "cut" car, this particular replica is one of about 100 GTB Coupes that were converted into convertibles to satiate the climbing demand for ultra-rare Spiders.
This will mark one of the first times that an original NART Spider will go toe to toe with a replica of itself at auction, and will answer a number of questions about just how important provenance is in the collector car world. Head on over to The Times blog for the full story.
Lil Wayne's daughter gifted Ferrari GTO, BMW X4 for 16th birthday [w/video]
Thu, Dec 4 2014It must be nice to have ludicrously rich parents. Rapper Lil' Wayne's daughter Reginae recently celebrated her 16th birthday with a huge party in Atlanta. Where many teens would be overjoyed just to get a family hand-me-down for a first car, the rapper's daughter got two brand-new vehicles – a BMW X4 and a Ferrari 599 GTO. The X4 would certainly be extravagant by itself, but it's not totally without precedent. Anyone who watched even a snippet of MTV's old show My Super Sweet 16, probably saw a few vehicles that were just as expensive. However, the concept of any newly licensed teen behind the wheel of a Ferrari is absolutely terrifying to us. This one is even crazier, with 661 horsepower and a chassis capable of lapping Ferrari's Fiorano test track quicker than an Enzo. Of course, with just 599 built, Reginae could probably just park the coupe and let it appreciate enough to finance her next big party. The BMW is reportedly going to be her daily driver, anyway. According to TMZ, Reginae's mother and stepfather bought her the Ferrari with Lil' Wayne's blessing. They believe their daughter can handle the 599 GTO, which shows some serious – if misguided – trust. Check out the video below to see the cars and her party. Ferrari F12 races Air Malta A320 jet
Fri, 29 Mar 2013Air Malta recently worked up a little stunt that pitted an Airbus A320 against a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in a drag race to raise funds for charity. It's easy to forget just how quick something the size of a jetliner can be, but watching the video below shows us just where the big passenger aircraft stands when it comes to sprinting down a runway. We won't spoil the clip for you, you'll just have to check out the showdown below.
Air Malta says it raised over 178,820 euro with the stunt, which is around $230,000. That's despite the fact that intermittent rain showers kept crowds away. Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton even stopped by to say "Hi" to the crowds. He wasn't piloting the F12, however. Check out the video below for yourself.
