Nero Metallic/tan, 22,793 Miles, Records From New, Original Owner, Euro Model on 2040-cars
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States
VIN: ZFFLA13B000051569 Nero (Black) Metallic Exterior with Tan Interior; 22,793 Miles (36,682 km); 5-Speed Manual; Tubi Exhaust; Tons of Records from New; Regular Maintenance; Excellent/Straight Car; Euro Model Imported New in 1984; Full EPA/DOT Papers. This 1984 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole was imported into the USA when new by the current owner in 1984. All EPA/DOT requirements were sorted properly in 1984. Meticulous records of this process were kept, including all correspondence. A binder with all this information is with the car. The current owner enjoyed and maintained the car until selling it locally in 1994. From 1994-1998, the Ferrari continued to be properly maintained and was treated to a suspension upgrade (Theiler sway bars/bushings & springs), Tubi exhaust, upgraded steering wheel (Momo Corse), and an in-dash Blaupunkt Ventura CD83 stereo. In 1998, the Ferrari was purchased back by Fox Motorsports for the original owner. It has remained under our fastidious care for the original owner ever since. It lives in climate-controlled storage and on a battery trickle charger when not in use. It has never seen salt or snow and has had very few miles put on the car over that past 11 years. It is finished in Nero (black) Metallic with a tan interior, a welcome departure from the all too common Rosso Corsa (red). The exterior is excellent, benefitting from annual detailing regardless of miles. A repaint of the front spoiler and fenders was performed in early 1994. The removable ‘GTS’ roof panel is in excellent shape and installs/removes easily and properly. The interior is excellent as well, due to careful owners and regular treatment of the leather. The seats are near new and the controls throughout show very little wear. The only wear of note is around the ignition trim ring, on the rim of the Momo steering wheel, and on the clock’s glass cover. The power windows, headlights, indicators, driving lights, etc. all function properly. The 15,000-mile service was performed (including timing belt, etc) in 1994 (12,432 km) at Lake Forest Sports Cars (LFSC) in Illinois. LFSC also documented the replacement of the original speedometer, which had just failed at 12,432 kilometers (included with car). A new speedometer, also in kilometers, was installed and the driver’s doorsill was correctly tagged to reflect that change. In 2003 at 35,316 km (total), a 30,000-mile service, including timing belts and water pump, was performed. Regular maintenance has been done annually by Fox Motorsports (regardless of miles) including: oil, brake fluid, and coolant changes. A new set of tires were installed in May of 2011 (Bridgestone Potenza SO-2), as the previous tires were over 10 years old. Included with the Ferrari are books, records, tool kit, jack, warning triangle, spare wheel/tire, and seat covers. Fox Motorsports manages

2016 Ferrari FF mule sounds super snarly in Fiorano testing
Wed, Jan 14 2015There are innumerable advantages to a company having its own test track on premises like Ferrari has with Fiorano. The Scuderia may not be able to test its Formula One machinery much on the track these days, what with the limitations placed by the FIA, but the factory can still use the circuit to wring out the road-going machinery it has under development – to say nothing of opportunities for visiting customers, journalists and VIPs. But it also means that the paparazzi know where to look to see what the company has in the works. In this case, supercar videographer extraordinaire Marchettino caught a Ferrari FF prototype running some hot laps around Fiorano. But to what end, exactly, we don't know. With the 458 expected to be updated shortly, the twelve-cylinder, four-seat, all-wheel-drive FF will soon be the oldest model in the company's lineup (introduced as it was in 2011), which would ostensibly put it next in line for a refresh. There've been rumors of a more elegant roofline to replace the hatchback, and even an eight-cylinder version to bring the model down-market slightly – although that might bring it too close to the California T. We'll have to wait and see what Ferrari has in store for its first and only all-wheel-drive model. But as you can hear for yourself in the video above, the exhaust sounds pretty raunchy, even by Maranello standards.
Luca doesn't believe in electric cars, but Ferrari will build more hybrids
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Confirming what we'd long suspected, the hybrid powertrain in the Ferrari LaFerrari was not a one-time thing. "I don't believe in the electric cars, but I strongly believe in hybrids," Ferrari boss Luca Cordero di Montezemolo tells Bloomberg. It's unclear when we'll see another hybrid Ferrari, though, as the automaker's current lineup is quite fresh - the oldest model is the California, which was updated for the 2013 model year - but make no mistake, there are more electrified cars coming from Maranello. "The answer is yes," Montezemolo told Bloomberg when asked about hybrids, although he was quick to add "without exceeding." It's that last part that is key for enthusiasts of the gas engine.
Ferrari's move towards hybrid powertrains reflects a pair of trends in both the political and motorsports spheres. Politically, automakers, even exotics, are being pushed to produce cars with cleaner emissions, or in many cases, no emissions at all. Look no further than the Range Rover Hybrid, which was just announced. Formula One's push towards hybridization and smaller engines is also informing decisions at Ferrari, with the LaFerrari already using hybrid tech already inspired by the sport.
Still, it's reassuring to know that while Ferrari is pushing forward with future technologies, that the gas engine won't go the way of the manual transmission in Maranello - at least in the near term.
Meet the man whose house is designed around his car
Tue, 21 May 2013It's been a couple of years since we last heard about Holger Schubert and his award-winning office/garage, but it looks like the city of Los Angeles, thankfully, did not force him to tear down the bridge that gives his Ferrari 512 BBi arguably the nicest parking spot in California. Petrolicious is back again with another well-done video, which finally introduces us to Schubert as well as his lust-worthy Ferrari.
As for the structure, it is half garage and half work space with an office, couch, bookshelf and television, and one hell of a view. There is a ramp that raises to allow the Ferrari to roll backward out of the garage before starting up on the aforementioned bridge that sits 16-feet above the ground. The car itself is an equally admirable piece of art, with a wedge-like shape and its reserved dark gray hue. If you're not the jealous type, scroll down to meet Schubert and his incredible Ferrari.
