Lpe542 Viper Gts 1 Of 8 Ever Built 770 Hp. on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
You are bidding on one of
eight known builds by LPE of a Gen II Viper.
This is most likely the last Gen II they built but you would need to confirm
with LPE. It is a Model year 2000 with 7100 miles on it as of this writing. I bought this car in
December 2012 and proceeded to put additional upgrades into it. The first and foremost is a PROEFI 128 system
installed by A&C Performance who is one of the premier Viper tuners in the
world. If you research the Viper
community you will see he his the guy on the west coast. With the PROEFI we added
traction control which makes the car much better in driving. Previously traction was an issue and even in
3rd or 4th gear you would loose the tires going up an off ramp. Now, it’s just solid full acceleration. The car drive great with this tune set up, doesn't get hot, and the air blows cold. But it is loud and it is fast. This is my 5th Viper I have owned. I'm getting to old to keep a car of this magnitude and plan on getting a more current daily driver, perhaps a HellCat which would be alot more tame. With the EFI Tune the car
pulled 674 RWHP Do the math, with drive-train loss that is about 770 crank HP. Here is a video from when
I picked it up from A&C http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7bR-7rHgyA Additional things
recently added are: New set of Michelin Pilot
tires. Trap door oil system to
the engine oil pan. MGW billet trim pieces
and gas cap (have original pieces still) Short shifter and knob
(have original pieces still) Billet PS bracket Billet steer rack
bushings Rear air diffusers Current upgraded HD
Unitrax half shafts. The engine work at LPE is as
follows: Engine
disassembly & inspection In addition, LPE
installed Penske fully adjustable shocks, RPM Stage VI Transmission, Brembo Big
Brake kit with floating rotors front and rear, new clutch, HD radiator, HRE
18/19 wheel set up. The car passed CA smog
when I bought it but currently has no cats so it won’t anymore therefore buyer is on
his own in that regard. The cats got hot with the dyno pulls and left a small
mark on the side sill. You can see it with the doors open but not so much when
they are closed. Picture attached. In
addition the PROEFI is piggybacked over the OEM computer so that window and
doorlocks work but the check engine light remains on. It can be deleted if needed but never was an
issue for me. If you read though the
forums you will find I am a track junkie. However, this car has not been on the
track. Primarily for two reasons. It is extra clean and I don’t want windshield
and paint chips. If I broke and engine, which I have done before in another
Viper, it would no longer be an LPE car as I’d have to go backwards (stock) on
the engine. This car is clean and it
runs great. The cam in it is huge. Todd spent hours on the tune to make it run
so good. http://www.lingenfelter.com/LPEforumfiles/showthread.php?1869-new-to-me-540-Viper&highlight=viper http://www.lingenfelter.com/engine-packages/dodge-viper-1999-2001
8th picture is the car. This car is listed for sale at other places and buyer reserves the right to cancel at any time for any reason. Also, car is sold as is with no warranty implied or offered. Seller will help logistics for shipping if reasonable and as long as no conflicts to work schedule. Car can be inspected by know local Viper Tuners known to seller and mutually agreed upon. Buyer is responsible for all costs and inspections if requested included transportation unless previously agreed by seller in writing.

Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived
Thu, 06 Nov 2014Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.
2021 L.A. Auto Show roundup | All the reveals, reviews, pictures
Thu, Nov 18 2021The L.A. Auto Show took place this week for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. It was a show packed with news and reveals, which hasn't really been the case with other shows we've seen this year, and Autoblog was on the floor covering every minute of it. Well, Riswick and Stocksdale were, anyway. The rest of us were sitting at home in our sweatpants, but hey, we'll take credit anyway. Let's get to it. Hyundai Seven Concept This is the Hyundai Seven Concept, and it’s meant to act as a preview for an incoming electric SUV for the Ioniq brand. It leans more toward the concept side of the spectrum than a production car, but expect the final SUV to take design cues from the Seven Concept. Kia Concept EV9 The Hyundai Seven counterpart isn't the only big, bold electric SUV at L.A. this year. Kia has its own take, and it's a modernized version of the traditional boxy utility vehicle called the Concept EV9. It also previews one of the next production electric cars for the brand, which should look right at home next to things like the Telluride. 2023 Kia Sportage HEV As promised, the 2023 Kia Sportage HEV has been revealed. The hybrid powertrain makes the compact SUV the most powerful version available, and it goes on sale next year. The engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with a 44-kW electric motor. Total output is 226 horsepower. The company didn't give a torque number, but it should basically be the same as the Sorento HEV that has the same basic powertrain: 258 pound-feet. Those numbers are a healthy step up from the 187 horsepower of the base 2.5-liter engine. 2022 Range Rover If you noticed how extra smooth and suave the new Range Rover looked during its recent reveal, Autoblog's James Riswick got a design tour that revealed some of the technological secrets to its success. "Less is more" is harder to achieve than it looks. Fisker Ocean Fisker has brought the new Ocean EV to the L.A. Auto Show, with a public preview at Manhattan Beach and a presence at the show itself. You can watch the public show reveal above, and see more shots from the show floor below. Fisker says the Ocean will start at $37,499 before incentives. That entry model would be the Sport trim with a single, 275-horsepower motor driving the front wheels and 250 miles of estimated range. It also has a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. 2023 Toyota bZ4X This is the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, due to hit U.S.
Macron and Le Pen decry 'shocking' Stellantis CEO pay
Mon, Apr 18 2022PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron and his far-right challenger in the French presidential vote, Marine Le Pen, on Friday both decried as “shocking” the multimillion euro payout to the CEO of carmaker Stellantis. Stellantis CEO Carlos TavaresÂ’ remuneration package of 19.15 million euros just a year after the company was formed became an issue as Macron and Le Pen campaigned ahead of the April 24 runoff vote. Polls show purchasing power and inflation are a top voter concern. Stellantis was formed last year through the merger of PSA Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Centrist President Emmanuel Macron, perceived by many voters as being too pro-business, called the pay package “astronomical” and pushed for a Europe-wide effort to set ceilings on “abusive” executive pay. “ItÂ’s shocking, itÂ’s excessive,” he said Friday on broadcaster France-Info. “People canÂ’t have problems with purchasing power, difficulties, the anguish theyÂ’re living with, and see these sums. Otherwise, society will explode.” Far-right leader Marine Le Pen, who enjoys support from many working-class voters, called for bringing in more workers as shareholders. “Of course itÂ’s shocking, and itÂ’s even more shocking when it is the CEOs who have pushed their society into difficulty,” she said Friday on BFM television. “One of the ways to diminish this pay, which is often out of proportion with economic life, is perhaps to allow workers in as shareholders.” Stellantis continued to back the package despite a 52.1% to 47.9% vote rejecting it at an annual shareholders' meeting chaired from the Netherlands, where the company is legally based, on Wednesday. The company, citing Dutch civil code, noted that the vote is advisory and not binding. The company later said in a statement that it took note of the vote, and will explain in an upcoming 2022 remuneration report “how this vote has been taken into account.” In the 2021 report, the company identified peer group companies that it used as a salary benchmark, including U.S. companies like Boeing, Exxon Mobile, General Electric as well as carmakers Ford and General Motors. Stellantis, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Jeep, Opel and Maserati, reported net profits last year had tripled to 13.4 billion euros ($15.2 billion). The French government is the third-largest shareholder in Stellantis, with a 6.15% stake through the Bpifrance Participations S.A. French public investment bank.
