2005 Dodge Viper SRT10, 18K original miles, 6sp manual trans, fully loaded with power windows, locks, mirrors, top, etc.  Factory CD stereo (sounds great), cold A/C, Stayfast conv. top is in great condition.  Original black leather interior w/ suede inserts is in excellent shape.  All accessories function and the car runs and drives great!  Original chrome wheels are in excellent shape, no curb marks whatsoever, Michelin Pilot tires are also near new.  All original body panels and paint, never been hit.  The car is in excellent shape and has always been garaged and maintained.  Always adult owned and driven, I have owned it since 2006 when it had just 630 miles on it.  I am only the third owner, second owner only had it a very short time.  I looked for a while to find a triple black one when I bought it.  Its everything you would expect a car with 18k miles to be.

I love this car, but the time has come to sell it.  Its survived many of life's changes the past few years, including a recent divorce.  Basically, a new life is taking me in a little different direction - and I just don't have the need for the car that I used to.  I would like to sell it and I'm asking what I consider a fair price.  I'll make you a deal...I am willing to be as reasonable as you are with your offers...how's that?  Feel free to call me with any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to answer them.  I can be reached at (480)-584-7614 pretty much all day.  You can also email me through eBay.  Thanks for your interest.

On May-23-13 at 06:54:49 PDT, seller added the following information:

There seems to be some discrepancy on the car reports about the car.  I have an actual "CarFax" that does not show any accident of any kind, but the report on eBay shows something that supposedly happened in March of 2005 when the car had less than 25 miles.  I'm not aware of anything that this could have been and I don't see any trace of repair or damage on the car.  I can only guess at this point that if it is factual, that it was probably something that happened at the dealership when it was new or maybe occurred during shipping...and that it must have been minor in nature, otherwise there would be more consistent reporting about it, as well as traceable repairs.  I have no other explanation or guess of what it could be.

Dodge Dart Registry helps you crowdsource money for your next ride [w/video]

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

To be honest, we're surprised something like this didn't pop up sooner. Chrysler is riffing on gift registries for couples getting married or expecting babies and cross-pollinating it with a social media funding website like Kickstarter to help customers buy its 2013 Dodge Dart. The Dodge Dart Registry allows people to build and customize a new Dart exactly how they want it, then let other people purchase some or all of the components as gifts.
The registry lets you add features like dark headlights, dual exhaust, various wheels and even interior options without choosing a specific trim level. This sounds a lot like the system Scion uses to let its customers configure cars, and this could be a great idea for Dodge. Of course, this system has the added benefit of being a social media affair for you to share with your friends... you know, so they can help pay for some of the parts, too.
The best thing about the registry is that you can configure your dream Dart from the comfort of your home computer, which strikes us as much better than walking around Bed, Bath and Beyond for the better part of an afternoon with an electronic scanner. The one thing that Dodge doesn't offer? "Thank You" cards. Those are on you.

How to turn a Dodge airport tug into a trail slayer

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Sometimes, having a ton of fun requires takes a ton of work. Just nine days before the so-called Ultimate Adventure 2014, the folks behind 4-Wheel & Off-Road had 40 tasks to complete in order to turn the ratty truck pictured above into a machine that could excel on treacherous off-road trails while still being able to handle highway jaunts. Much of process behind the build was chronicled on the latest episode of Dirt Every Day.
The team's vehicle started life as a 1990 Dodge tug truck that spent part of its life hauling around airplanes. The builders hung on to the Cummins six-cylinder diesel, but they tossed out practically everything else for the project, with some seriously heavy-duty replacement parts for the transmission, transfer case, axles and a whole lot more. The process was certainly a ton of work, but the end result looks like a fantastic crawler.
Sure, it might have been easier to bring a truck that was already prepared, but where would the fun in that have been? Stay tuned until the end of the video for a few glimpses of the completed Dodge and peek at some of the punishment it goes through.

Dodge Viper recall requires small-handed mechanics

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

It has been over a year since Chrysler first announced its recall of 3,660 2003-2004 Dodge Vipers because the airbag could suddenly deploy. The repairs are finally beginning, and it appears to be a nightmare for mechanics.
According to the automaker's filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag control module can fail, which causes the bag or the seatbelt pre-tensioner to deploy without warning. It took over a year to design the new parts, according to The New York Times. However, Chrysler finally has a new "jumper harness with an in-line diode filter circuit" ready to fix the problem.
The dilemma now moves to the mechanics who have to actually install the part. A 47-step guide from Chrysler explains that the procedure should take about two hours. It's not an easy job, though. Most of the dashboard has to be taken apart, and the instructions include this helpful bit of advice: "Installing the jumper harness and filter box into position is not an easy task. Patience, perseverance, and small hands are required." We wish the best of luck to them. The fix comes just in time for the Vipers to enjoy the summer sun.
