This is my personal car and I own 2 Vipers now and owned others rior ot this so not some scam. Local folks know me and my cars and can couch for the fact that I am good to my cars, yet they are FAST. This is my 2000 Viper GTS, 10 LB Roe Supercharged, Forged Pistons NOT-STOCK motor, Greg Good heavily ported heads, larger valves, ported intake larger fuel injectors, two 255 Walbro pumps with custom in tank pickups, Solid Roller cam and Solid Roller Lifters, T&D Roller Rockers, Headers with jet hot coating, larger throttle bodies and smooth tubes, AEM, no cats, Water-Methanol injection, Stainless Corsa Cat back exhaust, upgraded speakers, subs, tweeters, drivers 5 way safety harness, HRE 547R rims redone professionally by HRE last year so look new (9K+ just for rims), new Nitto 555R rear tires (DR's), 1000 HP Unitrax halfshafts with loops, RPM cryo trans with new Spec 3+ clutch, Unitrax True Trac rear with hoops for shafts, upgraded rear calipers (Tom's 40mm), Arrow motor done at 18K miles so 25K on motor, BIG new battery done last year as well as new alternator, and GOD knows what else. All things work too, no leaks or the like and can ship/drive or whatever.

Anyhow, the car is garage kept in my heated garage and never piled up although Carfax shows years ago I hit a piece of rock with my car and took a tire out and damaged a rim (go figure). Title is clear.  The imperfections the car has are the normal nose underside from driving and the side sills can use a respray, about $500-$1000 depending on where you get it done as these cars do get chips in them on those locations from driving. The air and heat all work and anyhow the car lays down 700 RWHP and I have hit 750 on the dyno on 93 octane and Boost Juice before. I bought it with 9100 miles on it back in 2003 and anyhow selling off my toys as I am relocating and have different cars including another Supercharged Viper that is faster and more money. No joy riders, serious people and no you cannot drive the car unless you can prove to me you have drive and drive 700+ RWHP machines and you have all the cash on you. Car is sold as-is where is with no warranty but we can hop in it and drive 200 miles without any hesitation-in fact I have personally driven it in 9 states in the past 9 years myself and it is reliable, fast as can be, durable and still easily knocks down 20 MPG in the highway cruising with the 6 speed transmission. It was running low 10's in the quarter and yes I ran it 4 different days @ Atco Raceway before the heads and cam and it was running 10's on 30PSI drag radials and I think very possibly could hit a 9 second pass on pump.  I also ran it once at Pocono Raceway and anyhow she is a real looker and FUN AS CAN BE driving. Car has had meticulous oil changes and service-in fact I have so many extra parts, filters and such that come with the car, new things as I never like my car to have down time. $65,000 OBO including extra parts. Sold as-is but pre inspections welcome.  NO PAYPAL other than a $1,000 deposit, balance is cash, bank wire or certified check that clears before the car moves and ANY doubt as to it clearing the car will be held until I am 100% sure funds are in hand.  GARY 856-486-1297 10-7 M-F

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.

FCA's large, LX-based RWD cars will stick around until 2020

Mon, Nov 7 2016

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plans to stick with the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and Chrysler 300 until at least 2020, reports Automotive News. The information comes from two unnamed sources and was loosely confirmed by details in the automaker's new labor contract with Unifor, Canada's auto union. The plan, according to two anonymous sources, is to lightly refresh the Challenger, Charger, and 300 until the vehicles make the switch to FCA's new Giorgio platform. The refresh, as Automotive News points out, will happen in 2018. The Giorgio platform currently underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulia and is expected to find its way to two of the three large American vehicles for the 2021 model year. At that time, FCA will discontinue either the Charger or the 300, claim AN's unnamed sources. If one of the vehicles were to go, it would most likely be the 300. The 300's LX platform would be approximately 15 years old in 2020 and the vehicle doesn't draw in as many sales as the Challenger or the Charger. The Charger made the switch from the LX platform in 2010 with the current model utilizing the mildly updated LD platform, while the Challenger recently moved from the LC platform to the LA platform last year. All of those rear-wheel-drive platforms are closely related. Automotive News points out that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne stated that the new platform could be utilized across various applications in a conference call with analysts last month. The plan, according to the report, is to stretch and widen the Giorgio platform for the next-gen Challenger and Charger. The new platform is also rigid enough to allow the automaker to add a convertible to its lineup, which could lend further credence to rumors of an upcoming Barracuda. Hopefully, the move to the new Giorgio platform doesn't delay the all-wheel-drive Challenger GT AWD or the wide-body, Hellcat-powered Challenger ADR. We'll just have to wait and see. Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?

Mon, Feb 27 2017

We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
