1998 Dodge Viper Gts on 2040-cars
Erie, Colorado, United States
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED EMAIL ME AT: bartbccronenberg@watfordfans.com . 1998 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe. Silver with Blue stripes. One of a kind Turbo Viper. I am the second owner, this car
was bought brand new by the guy I bought it from. He is a 75 year old dentist and took amazing care of this car.
When the car had roughly 30,000 miles on it he sent it to Super Viper Systems inc. in Chicago Illinois to perform
the transformation. SVS is now closed but before the old man retired they were the premier Viper builder in the
country. Look them up they are well known and thought of in the viper community. The car is now a 1000hp beast of a
super car. Will do well over 200 and handle it with ease. Has Motec traction control and is so easy to drive. I
will include a video link below. Here is a breakdown of what has been done:
Trans:
The trans was sent to John Denato to be rebuilt in order to handle the new power the engine would produce. If you
don't know who John Denato is just google him. He is the man to go to when it comes to Viper transmissions. The
trans is more then capable of handling the 1000+ hp. A Kevlar clutch and Billet Aluminum flywheel were also
installed. Trans cooler and remote trans oil pump were also installed. At high speeds the g forces pull all the oil
to the back of the trans which starves the front bearing. There is a switch on the console that activates the
remote trans oil pump and recircs the trans oil to the front bearing for periods of sustained high speed driving.
Everything on this car was made to be driven at 200+ and handle it!!
Engine:
The engine was torn down and completely machined and the block was O ringed. Balanced and blue printed with 8.4 JE
pistons Custom big valve aluminum heads, T&D Rockers, Comp cam w/ roller lifters, Individual coil packs per
cylinder. Accusump oil system. Squires rear mount turbo system was installed with its own oil pump and
intercooler. 4 core aluminum radiator with dual fans. Custom made headers from SVS that are plumbed to the turbo
and then to a custom single exit center rear exhaust that sounds absolutely amazing. Videos can not do the sound
justice. This car turns EVERY head when it goes by. Sounds like a pissed off indy car :) The engine is controlled
by a MoTec management system complete with traction control and flex fuel system. Car is currently tuned to run on
E85 at 12 psi of boost. There is a knob on the dash that has additional tunes and boost levels loaded in. The car
is still tuned for sea level so it is running a bit rich at the elevation here in Colorado. The engine is capable
of handling plenty more boost on race fuel but this thing is already a monster at 12psi. It is putting around 840hp
to the wheels on this set up.
Brakes:
The brakes were also upgraded. Up front there is 8 piston Brembo big brake kit complete with stainless brake lines.
Suspension:
KW clubsport coilover suspension was installed. The car was corner balanced and the coilovers were all custom
tuned accordingly. Again everything on this car was built to do 200+ and handle it.
Rear:
3:55 Gears. 1000hp half shafts. Drive shaft loop. Half shaft loops.
Misc:
BBS 3 piece 18"wheels ( Right rear wheel has some curb rash on the lip)
Brand new Hoosier R7 Road racing tires. Super sticky!!!
Carbon fiber cowl
Shroth 5 point harness'
Shift light
Boost gauge
The list is endless on this car. There is over 200k that went into the build of this car and it shows. I am sure I
have forgotten some things. This car is absolutely amazing and built very well. One look at this car and its
condition and it is obvious this car has never been raced or beaten on. This is not your typical car that someone
just threw a turbo on and cranked up the boost. This car was built with NO expense spared and the list above proves
that. I can not stress how nice the fit and finish is on this car. This thing idles through town with great street
manners but when you put your foot down hold on!!! This thing is a time machine!!! By far the fastest Viper I have
driven. The Motec traction control works flawlessly and is amazing, you can easily put your wife behind the wheel
with no worries The sound this thing makes is intoxicating and must be heard in person to be appreciated. I have
some documentation on the build but not all of it. However I do have contact info for the guys that built it as
well as the original owner who commissioned the build. The buyer will get all this info with the car.

Dodge unveils Special Service Durango for government fleets
Fri, 18 Oct 2013Straight off its refresh, the Dodge Durango is slipping back into its dress blues and getting back to work. The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle boasts all the refinements and improvements that the refreshed, civilian-spec model received, most notably a 15-percent improvement in fuel economy.
Designed for police and fire departments, and as Chrysler's answer to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV in the growing service SUV market, the Durango boasts a 600-mile range, thanks to the addition of an eight-speed automatic, available on both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Equipped with the 360-horsepower Hemi, the Durango SSV can tow up to 7,400 pounds (the V6 is limited to 6,200 pounds).
Police and fire department Durangos get a few special features over the civilian models. The electric systems are ruggedized, with a heavy duty battery and a 220-amp alternator in place, while the engine's water pump and oil cooler are both stronger. The brakes are tougher, and a load-leveling suspension has been fitted, too.
Is Mopar readying a special-edition Dart for Chicago?
Sat, 26 Jan 2013Chrysler has released the above teaser of a limited-edition Mopar 2013 model that will be unveiled at next month's Chicago Auto Show. Although the automaker doesn't announce what vehicle will get the Mopar treatment, closer investigation of the seats and center console suggest that this car will be a special version of the 2013 Dodge Dart.
This will be the fourth Mopar model in as many years, following on the heels of the Mopar 2010 Challenger, Mopar 2011 Charger and the Mopar '2012 300. There are no details for the Mopar '13 Dart, but we do see that the car will retain the signature black-and-blue color scheme as past Mopar editions. Like these previous models, we expect production of Mopar '13 Dart to be limited to just 500 units.
Scroll down for Chrysler's press release teasing the new Mopar model, and we'll be sure to bring you plenty of live images from the show floor in a couple weeks.
John Schneider's General Lee Dodge Charger up for auction
Thu, Jun 25 2015Over 150 years after it was first adopted, the Confederate flag is disappearing from license plates, state-legislature flagpoles, and even toy cars across the American South. While some are ready to bury those Stars and Bars forever as a symbol of racism and slavery, others will miss them as an emblem of freedom. Regardless of where you stand, the emergence of this particular vehicle on the auction block couldn't have come at a more poignant time. It's a 1969 Dodge Charger, and as you can see it's been done up just like the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. While it may not be one of the cars used in the original television series, it's not without its provenance. The vehicle is the last of four that were customized by John Schneider, the actor who – long after the rebel flag ceases to fly – will forever be remembered for his portrayal of Bo Duke on that timeless television show. It's painted orange, emblazoned with the number 01 on the doors, the words "Bo's General Lee" above each window, and that controversial flag on the roof. It also features signatures and messages inscribed by Schneider, as well as by Sonny Shroyer (who played Deputy Enos Strate on the show), and by sportscaster and former pro basketball player Jalen Rose who once owned the car. It appeared alongside Schneider in commercials and films, and in the pages of the Mopar Collector's Guide. Now it's set to be sold off to the highest bidder this weekend by Invaluable Auctions and Julien's Auctions, where it's expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 – assuming the latest controversies don't hinder its chances.
