1994 Dodge Viper V10 Ac Rebuilt With A Salvaged Title Polished Factory Wheels on 2040-cars
Lebanon, Missouri, United States
This one of a kind machine was first introduced to the public in 1992. Dodge worked with the legendary man, Carol Shelby to create the car we know as the Viper. This car features two leather seats, side exhaust pipes, side curtains, a matching black top. The original wheels have been polished beyond factory condition. The large hood accommodates a nearly unheard of 8.0 liter V10 engine mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, making the Viper the powerhouse that we know it to be. This excellent example was assembled with factory air conditioning the first year that Dodge had made the option available. The previous owner of this viper was my uncle; He enjoyed this car for quite some time. He has over 20 years of experience purchasing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. Before he acquired this car it had been involved in a front end collision. The insurance company came in and purchased the car. My uncle, soon after, purchased the Viper with a salvaged title. He put the car in his garage and took all of the pieces off that had been damaged in the wreck. He then sent the viper to a frame shop to be see if the frame had been bent, and unbelievably it had not been bent. Once he got the car and its undamaged frame back from the frame shop he bought all new parts from Dodge and replaced everything that he had taken off. When it was ready for the road, he took it and had it licensed. After he had driven it for a while my father made him an offer on it and purchased the car. When dad purchased the car he had it cleaned up and the battery taken out of it and put it into Evergreen Historical Automobiles’ museum. Currently the museum is looking to reduce in size and has multiple cars for sale, all looking for a new life. When the new owner receives this car they will additionally be receiving a new battery. Through my research, it is my belief that the first generations Vipers are being sought after more than when they were being produced. Because they only built 2,890 of these vehicles in 1994, the new owner of this vehicle will have the chance to possess an investment that has the potential to become more collectable, and valuable as time passes. If you would like to see the car in person, or would like more information or pictures, I encourage you to contact me by phone, text, or Email. Thank you for your interest and consideration. Auto Mergers and Acquisitions: Suicide or salvation?
Tue, Sep 8 2015We love the Moses figure. A savior riding in from stage right with the ideas, the smarts, and the scrappiness to put things right. Alan Mullaly. Carroll Shelby. Lee Iacocca. Andrew Carnegie. Steve Jobs. Elon Musk. Bart Simpson. Sergio Marchionne does not likely view himself with Moses-like optics, but the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recently gave a remarkable, perhaps prophetic interview with Automotive News about his interest and the inevitability of merging with a potential automotive partner like General Motors. Marchionne has been overtly public about his notion that GM must merge with FCA. For a bit of context, GM sold 9.9 million vehicles in 2014, posting $2.8 billion in net income, while FCA sold 4.75 million units and earned $2.4 billion in net income, painting a very rosy FCA earnings-to-sales picture. But that's not the entire picture. Most people in the auto industry still remember the trainwreck that was the DaimlerChrysler "merger" written in what turned out to be sand in 1998. It proved to be a master class in how not to fuse two companies, two cultures, two continents, and two management teams. Oh, it worked for the two individuals at both helms pre-merger. They got silly rich. And the industry itself was in a misty romance at the time with mergers and acquisitions. BMW bought Rolls-Royce. Volkswagen Group bought Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini, putting all three brands into their rightful place in both products and positioning. No marriages there, so no false pretense. Finally, Nissan and Renault got married in 1999. A successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust. But a successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust, the principle part being honesty. Daimler and Chrysler lied to each other. The heads of each unit, the product planners, and finance all presented their then-current and long-range forecasts to each other with less-than-forthright accuracy. Daimler was the far greater equal and no one from the Chrysler side enjoyed that. The cultures were entirely different, too, and little was done to bridge that gap. Which brings me back to the present overtures by Marchionne to GM. "There are varying degrees of hugs," Marchionne stated in the Automotive News piece. "I can hug you nicely, I can hug you tightly, I can hug you like a bear, I can really hug you." Seriously?
Chrysler recalling 780k minivans over fire risk
Fri, 09 May 2014Chrysler is recalling 780,000 of its Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2010 to 2014 model years due to the possibility of circuits overheating, which can lead to a fire. Of the 780,000 total vans being recalled, Chrysler estimates that 644,850 are in the US, 106,980 are in Canada, 8,009 are in Mexico, and 20,638 are in other markets. All of the affected vehicles were built between August 25, 2010 and October 31, 2013.
Chrysler's engineers discovered that beverage spills or exposure to moisture (from rain, snow, car washes, and the like) were linked to circuits shorting in the window switch assembly. Short circuits can overheat, and thus, cause a fire.
Chrysler will contact owners and let them know when they may schedule service, at which point, the window switches will be replaced. In the interim, the automaker says that owners may visit their dealers after May 14 to have the switches disconnected.
Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."
