Sprinter 2500: One Owner Low Miles 82k In Great Shape Mechanically And Body on 2040-cars
Dunedin, Florida, United States
This is the van that I ran my service company out of. The van has been very reliable ever since I purchased it new in Clearwater, except for the first 1200 miles: the voltage regulator went and killed the alternator along with the battery (warrantied). Other than that, I have never been stranded. The van gets between 20-25 mpg depending on your driving conditions and if the A/C is on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this van mechanically. The engine fires up with no problem and runs great. The transmission shifts smoothly too. I do all of the maintenance myself. The body has some minor surface rust on the roof rain-gutters, along with a patch of paint missing on the front drivers-side part of the roof (check out one of the pictures). There are some minor dings that are no bigger than a quarter in size (not deep either) here and there—very very minor stuff. I still I get a lot of compliments on this vehicle all of the time, in reference to the condition that it is in. The wheels do have some flaking paint and surface rust on the lug bolts. The alignment is pretty solid along with the tire balance. The tires are Continental 225/70/15 with plenty of tread life on them. You’re
probably curious why the spare tire is in the van cargo area, and not in its
original space: I had a U-Haul tow hitch welded to the frame. It was supposed
to allow the spare to remain in the original position. The spare tire could no
longer fit under the van, so that is why it is inside now. There is an
aftermarket spare tire rack that can be attached to one of the rear doors to
allow the spare tire to remain outside. I just never needed to purchase it.
Please feel free to email me with any questions, or if you would like to see the van in person. If you would like to talk on the phone, email me your number and I will get back to you. Please be patient on my return phone calls. I work out of my house, so it shouldn’t be too long to get back to you. I don’t accept PayPal, a personal check, or credit card. Cashier’s check “only.” I have the title in hand. You pick up or provide shipping arrangements at your expense.

Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived
Thu, 06 Nov 2014Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.
2014 Dodge Durango
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Say what you want about the Dodge Durango, but ever since it came on the scene in 1998, it has occupied its own niche in the SUV market - not too small, not too big, tough, able, not always the best on the road and not always the best off-road. If it were a football player, it would be a tight-end that can block and catch. If it were a hamburger - a double burger with cheese and bacon, but not the Whopper.
As part of a mid-cycle upgrade for what was already a very capable SUV that Chrysler introduced in 2011, and built on the same platform as the Mercedes GL-Class and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2014 Durango has gotten some refinements worth noting that have cleaned up its tailoring and toned up its body and powerplant. The result is an SUV that shows itself to be a very good value in a category full of sticker prices that can run away faster than a kid who's been told he has to take ballroom dancing lessons.
Chrysler executives showing us the new Durango made a special point to reiterate that the Dodge brand is not going away, as has been rumored after the company took the Ram and Viper - the cream of the brand - out from under the Dodge umbrella. Turns out Dodge has been the brand attracting the most young people (who knew?) and has a younger average age buyer than Honda. The Dodge brand historically has also attracted buyers who aren't exactly Phi-Beta Cappa, which some companies worry about. Chrysler not so much. Dodge buyers tend to be more the working, high-school-educated, community-college-educated backbone of the work force in America. If they keep coming to Dodge, the Durango is a pretty good piece of hardware to save up for.
