THIS AUCTION IS FOR A DODGE RAM 2500 MARK III CONVERSION VAN. MY WIFE AND BOUGHT THIS LAST YEAR TO  TAKE OUR GRANDKIDS ON VACATIONS. WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS EVERY COUPLE YEARS AS WE ENJY GOING ON ROAD TRIPS AND HAVING PLENTY OF SPACE AND AA FUN VEHICLE TO HAVE AWAY WITH US. THIS VAN TOOK US TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT LOCATIONS LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR. WE ARE MOVING SOON AND WE DO NOT HAVE MUCH PARKING SPACE AVAILABLE AND IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO TAKE IT WITH US. OUR LOSS IS YOUR GAIN.

WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A USED CAR DEALER IN PHILLY. IT WAS TRADED IN AT A DEALERSHIP IN VIRGINIA. WE FLEW TO PHILLY , PICKED UP THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER AND DROVE IT BACK TO MA. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE WHEN WE PICKED IT UP. I SENT THE VEHICLE TO OUR FAMILY MECHANIC WHO WENT THROUGH IT COMPLETLEY TO CONFIRM THERE WAS NO WEAR AND TEAR THAT NEEDED TO BE ADRESSED AND THAT IT WAS SAFE.

HE INFORMED US THAT THE VIHICLE IS IN EXELENT MECHANICAL CONDITION. WE REPLACE THE TIRES, SERPENTINE BELT AND TENENSIONER AND THE MECHANICAL MECHENASIM IN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN COMPLETLEY INSPECTED INCLUDING WHEELS OFF RIGHT DOWN TO INSPECTING THE WIRING. TRANSMISION RUNS STRONG FLUIDS LOOK GOOD AND BRAKES ARE IN GREAT CONDITION.

I WOULD TRUST THIS VEHICLE TO DRIVE ANY WHERE AND WOULD TRUST IT TO DRIVE CROSS COUNTRY AND EXPECT ONLY TO HAVE TO CHANG THE OIL WHEN HALVE WAY THERE.

SHE HAS 4 CAPTAINS CHAIRS ALL IN GREAT WORKING CONDITION. THE CHAIR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS 2 TINY HOLES IN IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS DONE BY A PEN , POSSIBLE ONE OF MY GRANDKIDS DID THIS. THE MATERIAL IS BLUE VELVET. THE SOFA IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IS FROM THE SAME MATERIAL AND I BELIEVE IT OPENS UP TO A FULL SIZE BED. THE CARPETING IS IN GOOD SHAP FADED IN SOME AREAS IT IS A LIGHT BLUE. THE WINDWS ALL HAVE SHADES AND THE TWO IN THE REAR HAVE THE STRING THAKE MAKE THEM GO UP AND DOWN ARE NOT WORKING. THESE CAN BE REPLACED THROUGH MARK III. THERE IS A CD STERIO AND THERE ARE FRONT AND REAR AND SIDE SPEAKERS. THERE IS A TV AND DVD PLAYER  WITH REMOTE CONTROLL IN THE OVERHEAD BULKHEAD. THE VEHICLE HAS A FACTORY RAISED ROOF AND YOU CAN STAND UP IN IT.  THE VEHICLE HAS FRONT AND REAR AC WHICH BLOW COLD. IT HAS A REMOTE CONTROLL POWER LOCKS, CRUISE CONTROLL POWER LOCK AND WINDOWS,POWER MIRRORS AND A UHAUL INSTALLED TOW PACKAGE.  SHE HAS A 35 GALLON CAPACITY FUEL TANK.THE TRANNY IS STRONG AND THE ENGINE IS SMOOTH. THE PAINT AND CROME ARE IN EXELENT CONDITION THE ROOF COULD US A GOOD WAXING AND THE RIMS A GOO SCRUBBING BUT SHE LOOKS AND RUNS GREAT. IF I HAD TO RATE HER CONDITION I WOULD GIVE HER A 9.8 OUT OF TEN BECAUSE SHE IS A 1997 VEHICLE. AGAIN I WOULD TRUST THIS VEHICLE TO DRIVE ANY WHERE.

Stellantis and LG launch joint venture for North American battery plant

Mon, Oct 18 2021

Stellantis has struck a preliminary deal with battery maker LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America, as the world's No. 4 automaker rolls out its 30 billion euro ($35 billion) electrification plan. Global automakers are investing billions of euros to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility and prepare for a progressive phase-out of internal combustion engines. Stellantis and LGES's joint venture will produce battery cells and modules at a new facility with an annual capacity of 40 gigawatt hours (GWh), the two firms said on Monday. No financial details of the deal were provided. The plant is scheduled to start production by the first quarter of 2024, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2022, the companies said in their statement. Its location is under review and will be announced later. Stellantis, formed in January from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has said it wants to secure more than 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and more than 260 GWh by 2030. The batteries produced under the deal will supply Stellantis' U.S., Canadian and Mexican assembly plants for installation in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, supporting its goal of e-vehicles making up more than 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030. The company, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram, earlier this year announced it would invest more than 30 billion euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup. Stellantis has said it would build three battery plants in Europe and two in North America, including at least one in the United States. Intesa Sanpaolo analyst Monica Bosio said the deal was positive, and a further step ahead in Stellantis' electrification process. It comes weeks after Stellantis and its partner TotalEnergies agreed to open up their battery cell joint venture ACC to Daimler, to expand their European sourcing of battery cells. Stellantis is also targeting more than 70% of sales in Europe to be of low-emission vehicles by 2030, and aims to make the total cost of owning an EV equal to that of a gasoline-powered model by 2026. Are supercars becoming less special?

Thu, Sep 3 2015

There's little doubt that we are currently enjoying the golden age of automotive performance. Dozens of different models on sale today make over 500 horsepower, and seven boast output in excess of 700 hp. Not long ago, that kind of capability was exclusive to supercars – vehicles whose rarity, performance focus, and requisite expense made them aspirational objects of desire to us mortals. But more than that, supercars have historically offered a unique driving experience, one which was bespoke to a particular model and could not be replicated elsewhere. But in recent years, even the low-volume players have been forced to find the efficiencies and economies of scale that formerly hadn't been a concern for them, and in turn the concept of the supercar as a unique entity unto itself is fading fast. The blame doesn't fall on one particular manufacturer nor a specific production technique. Instead, it's a confluence of different factors that are chipping away at the distinction of these vehicles. It's not all bad news – Lamborghini's platform sharing with Audi for the Gallardo and the R8 yielded a raging bull that was more reliable and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, and as a result it went on to become the best-selling Lambo in the company's history. But it also came at the cost of some of the Italian's exclusivity when eerily familiar sights and sounds suddenly became available wearing an Audi badge. Even low-volume players have been forced to find economies of scale. Much of this comes out of necessity, of course. Aston Martin's recent deal with Mercedes-AMG points toward German hardware going under the hood and into the cabin of the upcoming DB11, and it's safe to assume that this was not a decision made lightly by the Brits, as the brand has built a reputation for the bespoke craftsmanship of its vehicles. There's little doubt that the DB11 will be a fine automobile, but the move does jeopardize some of the characteristic "specialness" that Astons are known for. Yet the world is certainly better off with new Aston Martins spliced with DNA from Mercedes-AMG rather than no new Astons at all, and the costs of developing cutting-edge drivetrains and user interfaces is a burden that's becoming increasingly difficult for smaller manufacturers to bear. Even Ferrari is poised to make some dramatic changes in the way it designs cars.

EV cost burden pushing automakers to their limits, says Stellantis' CEO Tavares

Wed, Dec 1 2021

DETROIT — Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said external pressure on automakers to quickly shift to electric vehicles potentially threatens jobs and vehicle quality as producers struggle with EVs' higher costs. Governments and investors want car manufacturers to speed up the transition to electric vehicles, but the costs are "beyond the limits" of what the auto industry can sustain, Tavares said in an interview at the Reuters Next conference released Wednesday. "What has been decided is to impose on the automotive industry electrification that brings 50% additional costs against a conventional vehicle," he said. "There is no way we can transfer 50% of additional costs to the final consumer because most parts of the middle class will not be able to pay." Automakers could charge higher prices and sell fewer cars, or accept lower profit margins, Tavares said. Those paths both lead to cutbacks. Union leaders in Europe and North America have warned tens of thousands of jobs could be lost. Automakers need time for testing and ensuring that new technology will work, Tavares said. Pushing to speed that process up "is just going to be counter productive. It will lead to quality problems. It will lead to all sorts of problems," he said. Tavares said Stellantis is aiming to avoid cuts by boosting productivity at a pace far faster than industry norm. "Over the next five years we have to digest 10% productivity a year ... in an industry which is used to delivering 2 to 3% productivity" improvement, he said. "The future will tell us who is going to be able to digest this, and who will fail," Tavares said. "We are putting the industry on the limits." Electric vehicle costs are expected to fall, and analysts project that battery electric vehicles and combustion vehicles could reach cost parity during the second half of this decade. Like other automakers that earn profits from combustion vehicles, Stellantis is under pressure from both establishment automakers such as GM, Ford, VW and Hyundai, as well as start-ups such as Tesla and Rivian. The latter electric vehicle companies are far smaller in terms of vehicle sales and employment. But investors have given Tesla and Rivian higher market valuations than the owner of the highly profitable Jeep and Ram brands. That investor pressure is compounded by government policies aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The European Union, California and other jurisdictions have set goals to end sales of combustion vehicles by 2035.
