Here is a great looking and great running handicap van for any type of business or personal use you may need it for.  The front passenger curb side door is powered.  It opens and shuts by a push of a button.  The door works great and seals up tight.  The Braun Millennium Series wheelchair lift is in excellent working order.  The side doors are extended to make access to the inside of the van easy no matter what type of wheelchair you have.  The high top is in great shape and you can stand straight up in side with plenty of head room.  The first two rows of seating fold  up for a wheelchair to be secured inside the van.  The van seats 10.  The van has front and rear heat and A/C.  Yes the rear heat and A/C does work.  All the seating inside the van is in excellent shape.  The inside of the van shows almost no signs of wear.  The inside of the van is in excellent shape.

The exterior is also in great shape for the year.  Please look at all the pictures to see how nice the van is.  The paint has a nice shine to it and the body is straight.  Also there a several pictures of the bottom part of the van to see how clean it is.  There is only one spot of rust as seen in the pictures, otherwise the body is in great shape.  All the glass is in perfect condition with no cracks and the rear glass is tinted.

We just drove the van 3 hours on the highway at 65mpg and the van ran great with no problems.  The van starts right up every time and idles smooth.  The motor is strong and the transmission shifts smooth as it should.  The van motor runs smooth down the road.  The motor was replaced by Jasper Engines in Sept. 2007 with a new 5.9L motor.  I contacted Jasper Engines and gave them the tag number in the engine bay and they could only tell me when it was replaced but not the miles because they did not have the miles on file.  I'm guessing and only guessing the motor only has about 80,000 miles on it.  The van drives straight down the road and also stops in a straight line.  The brakes are in great working order with NO shaking, pulling or shimmy.  All four tires are in great shape with about 75% life still left in them.  All the power options work as they should.

If you have any questions please give me a call 309-333-6796(Tom).

This van has been detailed, waxed and cleaned.  This van needs nothing and is ready to go to work and be driven anywhere you need to go.  This would make a great transportation van, church van, daycare or school van or you can use it for you large family van.

Please look at all the pictures of this van to see how nice it is.

I have all the paper work for this van.  Owner manuals, window sticker, Carrier A/C manual and parts list, electric door opener wiring diagram, wheelchair lift wiring diagram, Braun fold-a-way seats instructions/user guide, parts list and diagram for the Carrier A/C unit, wheelchair lift ID/Warranty card.

If you have any questions please give me a call 309-333-6796(Tom).

If you would like to fly into Quincy, IL or Peoria, IL airport I can meet you there with the van and you can drive it home.  Please call me before booking any flights.

This van is being sold through a dealer.  All Illinois residents tax, title and plate fees apply.  Out of state residents there are NO other fees just the purchase price of the van.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

Killing the Dart and 200 might lower FCA's fuel economy burden

Tue, Feb 9 2016

Killing the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 could allow FCA US to take advantage of an intriguing quirk in the next decade's fuel economy regulations. By increasing its ratio of trucks versus cars, the automaker might not need to worry so much about hitting the more stringent efficiency rules. At first thought, it might seem harder for an automaker with a ton of trucks to meet the government's mandated 54.5 mile per gallon corporate average fuel economy for 2025. However, every company doesn't need to hit that lofty figure, according to The Detroit Free Press. The exact target varies by the product mix between trucks and cars. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target," Brandon Schoettle, Project Manager Sustainable Worldwide Transportation at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, told Autoblog. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target." FCA US' current product blend has 80 percent pickups and CUVs, which means the company stands to benefit from a lower fuel economy target. It might not seem entirely fair environmentally, but this is a great move from a business perspective. The new CAFE rules aren't set in stone, according to The Detroit Free Press, but potentially taking advantage of the regulation is just one more reason to cut the Dart and 200. Modern crossovers also aren't gas guzzlers like older SUVs, which could make it easier to hit the fuel economy target. "Utilities offer practicality and versatility that cars do not, and now, built on car architectures, they do not penalize consumers on fuel economy as they once did," AutoTrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs told Autoblog. Schoettle warns that FCA is still making a gamble by killing the small sedans. "Depending on the previous sales volumes and how much these vehicles might have exceeded their specific CAFE targets, it's possible that these cars helped earn CAFE credits for FCA that they could bank for future use," he said. "Future sales breakdowns [car vs.
