1984 Dodge Adventure Van 4x4 Extended Body Camper Van on 2040-cars
Boise, Idaho, United States
Fresh back from Vegas, SLC, Moab, Telluride and Carbondale, Colorado!
This is a 1984 Dodge Van with extended body 4x4 van - V8 engine that
always starts, runs smooth and drives great! Originally a CA vehicle, so
it's a clean runner. It has a lift, 4x4 drive train and a high top as
you can see in the photos. It's reliable, tight and mechanically sound.
Engine rebuilt around 90K, so it's fresh and solid. It's a great
opportunity to create your own / finish this home build or have someone
add in the rest for you. We've camped in it, driven it around town and
all over the Western US and had a lot of fun. We've owned it for a few years and hate to see her go. Reliable and fun traveling all over OR, CA, ID, CO, UT and more. A
great camper, mobile hunting cabin, home-built Sportsmobile-type rig,
surf van, Baja traveler or whatever you want to do! Just won runner up in Van Life competition in CO.
Details: + Miles: 118, 223 on body. ($900) + Brand new custom memory foam cushions in back -- leatherette for easy cleaning and comfort ($600) -- never slept on, but super comfortable + Brand new high-end leatherette covered folding sofa bed (best foam we could find) ($650) - bins fit great underneath for storage and sofa folds with them underneath + Extended body vehicle + 2 sky vents on top + Front passenger chair swivels toward back + New neoprene seat covers + New Alpine Stereo & 6x9 Kenwood speakers purchased & installed at Best Buy in Boise 8/13 ($500) + All oak interior floors and walls and table + Oak kitchen with stainless steel bowl + Hand pump faucet with 5 gallon water container + 4x4 van will go ANYWHERE - it runs like a tractor in 4 low. + Awning attached for shade over the side slide door + Tinted windows (fresh UV resistant curtain) + MPG is 13+ give or take no matter what. It has a 30-gallon tank, so it's easy to get about 300-330 miles to the tank...but I never pushed it past 310. + Reflectix insulation installed throughout (side walls and doors double insulated with Owens Corning EcoTouch insulation as well) for superior warmth - think about parking for the weekend to ski at Brundage, Targhee, Tahoe, Baker... + Steel roll bar can easily have cabinets mounted / storage added, etc. + Tyvek lined throughout for moisture management + Anti-rust sprayed floor pre-floor install + Foam pad below oak floor for quiet and insulation + No expense spared on quality of interior materials + Sprayed metallic silver dog house engine cover + New carpet in captain's area installed 6/13 + Set up for 2nd battery option to run your own solar set up or on-board system + 2 hatches in rear floor - 1 is for the 2nd battery and wired as such + Back benches fold up for storage + Table unscrews and turns into a bed - sleeps 4! + Surge protector installed for shore power option + Drives well and is comfortable on the highway + Ladder for top access + 2" hitch in rear for trailer, rack, towing a boat... Other things to note in general: - This is a project or finished, it's up to you - the interior isn't "finished" but we built it to our needs / wants. Mechanically, this is a solid vehicle, but you can make it your own on the inside. The hard work is done (rust mitigation, insulation, some interior build out) but from above the line of the van / high top, it's insulated, but not finished. We left it this way to put surfboards / paddleboards inside the van for safety - comes with spare tire - no back bumper - custom front bumper is ready for a wench - has a/c but it's currently disconnected - heat / defrost works great! - always starts right up no matter what, but is a little slow to get warmed up when it's very cold out (below 10 degrees) - all glass in tact and sealed - new-ish paint - up to date service Comes with all receipts, jack, Hayes manual and a few other parts (extra seat belt, tail lights, filters, etc.) and is ready to roll. Also has blueprints for interior options. Title in hand for easy sale. Delivery is 100% buyer's responsibility - I will help arrange pick up. |

SRT partners with Bondurant for performance driving classes
Fri, Nov 6 2015Dodge and Bob Bondurant have announced a new partnership that will see the latter become the former's official high-performance driving school. The deal will see the Bondurant school's entire fleet of nearly 100 vehicles switched over from mostly General Motors products to Dodge Chargers, Challengers, and Vipers. It will give paying customers the chance to drive models like the new Hellcats and even the Viper ACR (for those deemed qualified to drive it) on the track in Arizona. The arrangement won't only benefit Bondurant clients, though. Anyone who buys or leases a new SRT model will get a one-day course at the school, including professional instruction on track. They'll have to pay for their own travel and accommodations, but the instruction will hopefully show more drivers of SRT vehicles how to handle all that muscle they've got at their disposal. DODGE/SRT PARTNERS WITH LEGENDARY BOB BONDURANT SCHOOL OF HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving Is Now "The Official High Performance Driving School of Dodge/SRT" - All customers who buy a new 2015 or 2016 model SRT will receive one full-day session of high-performance driving with professional instruction and time on the track as part of the Dodge/SRT package - Bondurant attendees will get to experience the full line of Dodge/SRT vehicles, including the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger Hellcats - Bondurant's entire fleet of cars is being converted over to Dodge Chargers, Challengers and Vipers - Non-Dodge owners can purchase racing instruction through Bondurant and experience their full line of Dodge SRT vehicles on the track - Racing participants who qualify will get to experience the Dodge Viper ACR, the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever November 3, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - New Dodge/SRT buyers grab your racing shoes and helmets – Dodge is teaming up with the legendary Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving to create "The Official High Performance Driving School of Dodge/SRT." Starting Jan. 1, 2016, Dodge customers who purchase or lease a 2015 or 2016 Dodge/SRT can experience a high-performance driving class with professional instruction and time on the track where they can develop their racing and driving skills in a one-day performance-packed adventure. Dodge will provide the rides – nearly 100 SRT vehicles – including the 707-horsepower Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats.
Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled
Sun, 24 Feb 2013A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.
Barracuda's Dodge branding no biggie, but what about engines?
Thu, Aug 27 2015Rumors about a revival of the Barracuda nameplate have been circulating for years now, though which brand it might fall under has been a bit of a mystery. Initial speculation had the car labeled an SRT product, but that acronym has since returned to its former role as a sub-brand for top-performance Mopars. Thanks to leaks from a recent FCA dealership event, we know the Barracuda is back on the table but will be sold under the Dodge umbrella, a move that has been generating a bit of ire from Pentastar fanatics, as the car was originally part of the defunct Plymouth brand. Given what's known about the new model, however, the badge is the least of my concerns about the new car. Let's start with the re-branding itself. This isn't the first time Chrysler has shuffled models around to different brands. The current-generation Viper spent two years as the flagship model under the SRT banner, only to return to Dodge for 2015 when SRT resumed its former role as a sub-brand. Years ago, the Neon was sold as a Plymouth, a Dodge, and a Chrysler model, depending on where you shopped for one. When Plymouth ceased to exist, the last few years of Prowler production got Chrysler badges instead. Then there's the new Jeep Renegade, a model whose name was born out of a trim level. The Barracuda might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. Further examples of naming liberties taken throughout automotive history could fill a book, but suffice it to say that these days a model's name has very little to do with the vehicle itself or any legacy it might have. The Barracuda name might be a particularly sacred cow with enthusiasts, but to me, a much bigger concern is the fact that the car might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. News from the Fiat Chrysler dealer briefing earlier this week indicates that when the next Charger debuts it will share its platform with the Barracuda, much the way the Charger and Challenger are twinned now. One difference is that the Barracuda is tipped to be offered as a convertible, while the modern Challenger is tintop-only. The Charger and Barracuda will use the rear-drive platform developed for Alfa Romeo's new Giulia, itself designed as a BMW M3 fighter both from a dimensional and dynamic standpoint; the Barracuda is expected to be slightly smaller than the current Challenger.
