2011 Dodge 5500 Crew Cab Slt Ready To Work Cab And Chassis Great Condition! on 2040-cars
Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
I am selling my 2011 Dodge 5500 Crew Cab SLT in Great Condition LOW reserve, of $27,500
Had a utility service bed on it, didn't see much towing, has been well cared for and it shows throughout It has 118k miles, and runs like a champ Engine is clean, tight, no smoke, starts right up in cold weather, no leaks, recent oil change and service, nothing to report with the engine Transmission is tight, functions as it should, shifts well, has the tap-shift on the gear selector so you can choose which gear you want when towing or using the factory exhaust brake All driveline gear is in great condition with newer tires, new shocks, etc. There are no loose joints, odd clunks in the front-end, it really drives great, you can tell its a 5500 with no weight on the bed, so the ride is firm in the back, but when going over bumps the front-end feels just like it should, drives straight, doesn't pull etc. The bed has been removed and is ready for whatever you want to put on it, the wiring for rear lights and trailer are nice bundled up ready for you to work with, the 2 rear taillights as needed wired in, the old bed was bolted on so there is no odd cuts or welds on the frame. The fuel tank is huge, not sure how big but I just went 700 miles on 1 tank Exterior condition is great with a ranchhand grill guard, as you can see in the pictures there is no speakable damage, dents, or scratches, there may be a minor scratch or 2 but I don't know of them, the paint is shiny and looks great, the undercarriage is in good shape, no leaks so its not all grimy underneath and not rusted out, just looks as it should. The interior is in great shape as well, with the exception of the drivers seat tear on the side that you can see in the pictures and a minor stain on the drivers seat itself, maybe it would come out with a detail but its there and should be disclosed. Other than that there are no major problems spots, naturally it has been used so its not brand spanking new but its dang close. It is not the base model truck so it has carpet with extra sound dampening, built in trailer brake controller, power windows, locks, drivers seat, etc. Remote keyless entry, Uconnect bluetooth speakerphone, cd player, Sirius Sat. radio, 110v power outlet, 4 normally cigarette outlets, tinted windows, etc. Overall its a very clean truck that will impress, it runs great, functions, great, not a whole lot of bad to say about it. I am able to take more pictures, but its snowy, but overall the pictures won't show much more than you need to know, its a clean truck. The only issue other than whats stated above is on my last trip (700 miles) a notification on the dash came on that said "Service DEF System" thats the Diesel Exhaust Fluid, so I stopped into the dealer, he hooked up his laptop and said there were some codes all relating to the DEF system but nothing that was conclusive, he didn't see a specific problem, and he doesn't know why the message came on, he topped off the DEF fluid, He said he's seen that message come on the the fluid gets real low, other than that he said maybe its because its freezing, although the computer should know better, (it was around 2 degrees that day). All in all he didn't know why it came on so he reset the computer. I have done some research and I too haven't found any conclusive info, I did learn a lot. The fluid is injected into the exhaust pipe about halfway back and is used to aide in the clean burning of the exhaust, it is not cycled through the engine so I feel good about that, its literally a supplement system that if you choose to do so can be disabled, delete, whatever. I have also learned that most failures are the pumps, which after checking into, a new one from the dealer is somewhat pricey, but a working one on ebay is a couple hundred bucks and takes about 20 minutes to swap over since theres not a bed on it access is great. So take that as you will, again I want full disclosure, the message came on and thats about it. Maybe it will for you maybe it won't regardless it doesn't seem like a problem that effects the engine or reliability. I will be available until the 9th for the auction to end and truck to be picked up, otherwise I will be unavailable until the 19th. so if you buy it, plan on flying out in the next day or so to drive it home, or your going to have to wait you can call or text me at 970-672-6396 for questions, specifics, pricing, etc. I have only sold 2 vehicles on ebay and have not had any problems when the buyer sees the vehicle I try to be descriptive and have the vehicle ready to go, I would not sell something I wouldn't trust myself as I know you are most likely coming from out of state and need something reliable. |

2013 Dodge Dart gets all Moparized
Fri, 08 Feb 2013Last year, Chrysler announced it would be offering more than 150 Mopar parts and accessories on the 2013 Dodge Dart, and we got a look at some of these parts firsthand at the Chicago Auto Show. Showing off all the optional parts at once would surely create a gaudy monstrosity, so Chrysler chose to equip this particular Dart GT with just a handful of Mopar goodies, which still gave the car a nice and tasteful custom look that is available straight from the dealership (and with a full warranty, too).
Decked out in a factory color called Header Orange Clear Coat - also a very appropriate show car hue - this car added exterior styling parts such as the vented, carbon fiber hood, the bolt-on front chin spoiler and a matte black decklid spoiler. Looking inside the car, you'd think the red-accented interior is part of the Mopar parts bin, too, but this is actually what the standard Dart GT cabin will look like when it goes on sale.
FCA recalling 63k Jeeps, Vipers and Ram ProMaster City vans
Thu, Apr 23 2015Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced a pair of recalls cover nearly 63,000 vehicles. The bigger of the two actions covers manual-transmission-equipped vehicles from 2006, including the Jeep Liberty and Wrangler, as well as the Dodge Viper. FCA engineers uncovered that the clutch ignition interlock switches use a kind of wire that was part of a previous recall campaign. Because of this, the company said that affected vehicles may not start, although in rare cases, "if recommended starting procedures are not followed," the affected vehicles may lurch forward after turning the key. Those recommended starting procedures "include activating the parking brake, placing the shift lever in neutral and pressing the clutch pedal before turning the vehicle's ignition key." Recall number two affects the company's 2015 Ram ProMaster City cargo and passenger vans. Owners will need to report to dealers to have a piece of tape removed from the side-curtain airbags. The tape is added during assembly and in some cases, may not have been removed. That could prevent the airbags from deploying in the event of a crash. Just under 59,000 vehicles are included in the first recall, including 43,874 in the United States, 11,309 outside of North America, 2,944 in Canada and 706 in Mexico. The ProMaster City recall includes just over 3,900 vehicles. FCA claims it's unaware of any injuries, fatalities or accidents related to either recall and will perform repairs free of charge. Scroll down for the official press release on both campaigns. Related Video: Statement: Clutch Ignition Interlock Switch April 23, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is launching a voluntary recall of an estimated 43,874 older-model U.S.-market cars and SUVs equipped with manual transmissions. The Company will replace their clutch ignition interlock switches at no charge to customers. The action follows an investigation by FCA US engineers that discovered these vehicles are equipped with switches that contain a certain type of wire implicated in a previous campaign. The wire, which was temporarily substituted by a supplier for the specified material, may break. As a result, the vehicles may not start, and in rare cases – if recommended starting procedures are not followed – a vehicle may exhibit unintended movement when its ignition key is turned. FCA US is unaware of aware of any related injuries or accidents involving this population of vehicles.
Buyer says Dodge dealer gave him wrong Charger, failed to notice for 2 months
Wed, Dec 31 2014Mistakes happen, and they happen all the time. But when that mistake means a customer doesn't get what he or she paid for, something's gotta give. That's what one Dodge Charger buyer claims he is trying to sort out with his local dealership. Two months after taking delivery, the owner (going by the user name Dakrbouncer4689 on Reddit) says he got a call from his local Dodge dealership reporting a little problem. He had ordered and paid for the Charger SXT (pictured above on the dealer lot), but was given a Charger SE instead. The SE being the lower trim level, this presented one set of problems – namely a $2,000 discrepancy in equipment, like a five-speed automatic versus an eight-speed, a 4.3-inch infotainment display instead of 8.4, heated seats, leather steering wheel, premium audio, remote starter and so on. The second set of issues is that the VIN number on the paperwork (including the registration and insurance papers) of course doesn't match that of the car itself. The dealer, having obviously made a rather large mistake, apparently called the owner in to sort out the mess, but according to the customer's account, things didn't go as smoothly. Instead of immediately working to address the problem, the salesman kept the owner waiting, acted like it was no big deal, and offered only to swap the cars with no compensation for the trouble. Fortunately, the manager proved more sympathetic and apologetic, and offered the customer three options: he could swap the cars (re-doing the tinted windows on the SXT that the customer had done on the SE and throwing in leather seats for free), he could keep the SE (with the dealership handling the paperwork, throwing in the leather seats, adjusting the price and refunding an extra $400), or they could cancel everything, return the car and part company. As we go to press, the Charger owner had yet to make (or at least share) his decision. But while the principle of caveat emptor makes us wonder how he managed to take home a different car from the one he paid for, clearly the salesman and the dealership made a pretty large mistake by presenting him with the wrong set of keys and letting him off the lot without double checking it all.
