2005 Dodge Ram 3500 on 2040-cars
Iuka, Illinois, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : edwinekkurek@ukhair.net .
Up for sale is my 2005 Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel street queen, never had a fifth wheel hook up or did any towing
except for the occasional utility trailer with a couple hundred pounds on it. It has 2007 front clip, the previous
owner liked the newer look better than the original 2005 headlights and front clip. Comes with painted to match
Leer Camper shell / Topper. The truck is currently in Illinois due to a recent move from NC. I bought this truck
in Florida where it lived its entire life, it has never seen snow or salt as you can tell by the under side photos.
This is not a show truck, it is a very dependable hard working truck that loves to be driven. I bought it with
97k miles on it in January of 2014. I have driven it from NC to the following places...all highway
miles...Oklahoma twice, New York twice and to Florida three times which is where the new 32k "ish" miles have come
from. I am a school trained diesel mechanic so i can ensure you this truck has been spoiled and loved on since I
have owned it. Below is a list of upgrades done to the truck since I have owned it.
- Banks intercooler and tubing
- Banks Air intake horn
- ATS two piece exhaust mainfold, with EGT probe
- 63mm phatshaft turbo upgrade
- BRAND NEW (not refurbished) Bosch fuel injectors with +50HP over stock
- Billet input and output shafts in transmission
- Bully dog GT tuner...never raced!! used for fuel economy with upgrades for highway driving
- Transmission was totally gutted and rebuilt with red disc clutch's
- Suncoast triple disc torque converter
- Has Chevy shift solenoids with the HD valve body
- ATS deep tranny pan with temp sensor
- 3 inch leveling kit (done right) with extended trailing arms, adjustable track bar, sway bar extensions, 3" drop
pitman arm, B&D steering stabilizer bar with dampener and bearing for steering box.
- Brand new steering gear box
- ALL new ball joints(top and bottom)
- Bilstein shocks in rear
THE BAD
- The paint is not 100%, passenger side bed side was just replaced with a brand new one and painted to match (hit
and run in parking lot). Would never tell by looking at it.
- Small rip on center counsel lid about an 1" long...dog did it last month with his nail
- 12v charger/plug doesn't work inside center counsel
- leaks a tiny tiny bit of oil from camshaft output seal on the top front of motor...has leaked since I have owned
it and it hasn't gotten worse (trust me I have been watching it)
There is nothing else wrong with the truck, I have nothing to hide...feel free to ask any questions you may have.

2016 Jeep Wrangler recalled over impact sensor wiring
Thu, Oct 20 2016Fiat Chrysler just announced a pair of recalls totaling nearly 311,000 units. The bigger recall affects certain 2016 and 2017 model year Jeep Wranglers. Although, since FCA claims all of the affected 2017s are in the company's hands, really, only 2016 owners should pay attention here. The affected Wranglers suffer from an issue where wiring disconnects from impact sensors in certain types of crashes, potentially preventing the airbags and pretensioners from activating. FCA uncovered the problem in what its press release calls "a routine, in-house crash test" and claims "service availability is imminent." The affected Jeeps require a simple rewiring. The other recall, announced Tuesday, is more of a fleet issue, affecting 2007 to 2013 model-year Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cabs and 2011 to 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit police vehicles. There's a problem with "premature diode wear" in alternators that are subject to "frequent load cycling, at or near maximum amperage, [or] in hot ambient temperatures." Affected alternators could short out, causing a vehicle to stall or potentially catch fire. FCA lists 182,743 affected Wranglers in the US, 18,011 in Canada, 3,087 in Mexico, and 20,948 in global markets. The Ram/ Charger Pursuit recall lists 74,833 vehicles in the US, 10,077 in Canada, 1,088 in Mexico, and 134 outside the NAFTA region. Of all those vehicles, the Jeep recall hasn't caused any injuries or fatalities, while FCA says it's aware of one "potentially related injury" and no accidents due to its fleet vehicle recall. FCA says it will notify owners/operators of affected vehicles when service appointments are available. As per usual, all the work is free of charge. Related Video:
For his last act, Marchionne will outline an EV/hybrid roadmap this week
Wed, May 30 2018MILAN/LONDON — Fiat Chrysler (FCA) boss Sergio Marchionne is expected to outline new plans for electric and hybrid cars in a strategy presentation on Friday, aiming to ensure the world's seventh-largest carmaker remains in the race in the absence of a merger. The 65-year-old will present FCA's strategy to 2022, his final contribution to the company he turned around and multiplied in value through 14 years of canny dealmaking. After failing to secure a tie-up he said was necessary to manage the costs of producing cleaner vehicles, Marchionne needs to show the group can keep churning out profits on its own, even as emissions rules tighten, SUV competition intensifies and worries around his succession abound. Marchionne had long refused to jump on the electrification bandwagon, saying he would only do so if selling battery-powered cars could be done at a profit. He even urged customers not to buy FCA's Fiat 500e, its only battery-powered model, because he was losing money on each sold. But Tesla's success and the need to comply with tougher emissions rules have forced Marchionne to commit to what he calls "most painful" spending. "FCA is way behind rivals in terms of hybrid and electric vehicles and they need to hit the accelerator to convince investors they can close that gap," said Andrea Pastorelli, a fund manager at 8a+ Investimenti. Germany's Volkswagen, Daimler, BMW and U.S. rivals GM and Ford have committed to spending billions of euros each in coming years to try produce profitable cars powered by cleaner fuels. FCA needs to present a clear roadmap, just like Volvo Cars, which ditched diesel from its best-selling XC60 SUV, launched a new electric brand and pledged to shift all brands to hybrid by 2019, a banking source close to FCA said, noting: "The tech divide determines winners and losers in the industry." Marchionne has already said half of the wider FCA fleet will incorporate some elements of electrification by 2022, while luxury marque Maserati will spearhead FCA's electrification drive by making all new models due after 2019 electric. But its plans remain vaguer and less advanced than most big rivals and some investors wonder about the capital required to make vehicles compliant, and what share of spending can go to electrification given FCA's numerous demands.
What's the deal with Chrysler demanding colleges crush their Vipers? [w/video]
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Students and teachers at a Washington community college are up in arms following an order from Chrysler that it must destroy the pre-production Dodge Viper that was donated to the school's automotive technology program ten years ago.
The Viper in question is said to be the fourth off the production line, based on its VIN, and has had its emissions controls disabled, allowing its ten-cylinder engine to produce 600 horsepower, according to a report from Yahoo! Autos. As one of the first Vipers ever produced, the school's AT instructors claim it could be worth $250,000 in a museum, while a local news report purports that Jay Leno once tried to purchase the car, but the sale was prevented by Chrysler.
As pointed out by our friends at Autobytel, though, there are a lot of things in this story that don't quite add up. Immediately noticeable from the news report embedded below - which shows the car at South Puget Sound Community College - is that the car in question is not a 1992 model. When the Viper went on sale in 1992, it was only available as an RT/10 with a (flimsy) soft top, like the red car shown above. But the car featured in the report from KING5 News (inset image) is clearly a hardtop Viper GTS, which didn't enter production until 1996. And even if, as reported by a local newspaper, the hardtop featured is a prototype, it doesn't explain the lack of another iconic feature of the first Vipers - their distinctive side pipes. This kind of pokes holes in the school's argument that this is the fourth Viper to ever roll down the line. At best, this appears to be a pre-production Viper GTS.
