1986 Dodge Ram 3500 1 Ton utility or passenger van. 145,560 miles on van, ONLY 11,000 miles on a replacement Jasper engine. Runs very strong, transmission shifts fine. All systems work: AC/Heat/lights etc. New tires, new windshield, and regularly serviced. Would be great for a contractor, painter, carpet installer or passenger van. There are 3 bench seats included but have been in storage for 25 years in a shed. Single owner, mechanic maintained. This van is owned by a retiring craft show vendor. It has been driven every few weeks to craft shows and events since the late 1980's. It is very heavy duty, drives easy and smooth. Issues with the van: It is rough inside and out. There is a rusted through bottom portion of one of the side doors. There is a dent on the drivers fender. The paint has come off on a lot of the surfaces. The seats and front cab area are very decent and comfortable. The rear cargo area has had a remnant carpet in the back for 20+ years as a floor mat. Radio does not work. Cash sale only. 121k Dodge Darts being investigated over braking problem
Mon, Jun 22 2015The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the Dodge Dart due to reports of braking problems. Some 121,000 cars are possibly affected, all from the 2013 model year. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA received 18 complaints about the brake pedal becoming hard to depress on these cars, increasing stopping distance. Drivers reported hearing a "pop noise or an air hissing noise when applying the brake pedal, followed by a hard pedal feel and reduced brake effectiveness," NHTSA told the News. In a particularly terrifying incident, one driver says the Dart's braking system shut down while driving at 50 miles per hour. "I feared for my life. It is one of the scariest things I have ever dealt with," the complaint said, according to The Detroit News. A Fiat-Chrysler spokesperson said the automaker is "fully cooperating" with this investigation.
Dodge bringing revamped Challenger, Charger to Big Apple
Mon, 07 Apr 2014The 2014 New York Auto Show will be a big one for Dodge, as the brand has announced that refreshed versions of the 2015 Challenger and 2015 Charger will debut at the show. This is a particularly big deal for the two-door Challenger which, visually, has remained unchanged since is burst back onto the scene in 2008 and helped reignite the muscle car wars.
As a sort of hint, this announcement was accompanied by the picture you see above - the Super Bee logo in the Challenger's new instrument cluster. According to Dodge, the New York debut of a new "powertrain combination" - possibly with the high-output Hellcat V8 - will leave enthusiasts "abuzz."
As for the Charger, Dodge is promising a full redesign that should be a significant departure from the blunt, angry looks of the current model. At this point, there's no indication that the Challenger's new powertrain could be fitted to the Charger, although considering how mechanically similar these two vehicles have been, it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility.
