I have an old 85 Dodge Crew Cab Air Force long bed truck that has been converted to a Cummins 5.9L 12v 4X4 5 speed w/3.54 gears. The truck runs great. I have had a number of 12v Cummins trucks over the years, and I can easily say this one is the best running one I have had. It has the Banks intercooler setup on it. Was told it has a high torque clutch assembly in it. Have hauled a couple heavy loads with it, never had an issue. Not sure of any other mods. Appears to be the stock Holset turbo. Maybe has a fuel pin, but not sure. It pulls so dang well, I haven't wanted to mess with anything. The lower doors, and outer rockers need rust repair. The inner rockers, cab mounts, floor, etc... are all solid. Speedo/odometer quit working. Shows 194xxx. Probably over 210k. It has a P/S leak, and an exhaust leak. The only reason I am selling this truck is I planned on using this to pull our family race car. It's really my perfect idea of a truck, but... it's almost October, and we have been out racing twice. The second time was last weekend. The truck did the 500 mile round trip like nothing was behind it. The race car on the other hand broke it's driveshaft, and transmission. I am not sure i'll even be racing next year. I just don't use the truck as I had envisioned. I don't need the truck just to drive back and forth to work, even if it is cool. The wheels and tires on the truck are going on my standard cab pickup. The truck will have steel wheels on it. If your looking at this truck, it's because you know what it is, not because of the wheels and tires. Truck is being sold at no reserve, You bid, you win, you own it. All the hard work is done on this one. Hang some doors and rockers on it, tidy up a couple small details, and you have a really nice, desirable 4 door Cummins truck. Be the envy of all 1st generation Cummins truck owners. Have one with four doors! I would, and have driven this truck anywhere and everywhere. Email with any questions. Thanks Derek

2015 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak previewed
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Dodge and Mopar have never strayed far from success in drag racing, be it on run-what-you-brung nights at the local strip or at the highest levels of the sport. Hoping to both add to that heritage and capitalize on some of the media spotlight that's shown so brightly on the brand of late, Dodge has given us our first look at the 2015 Mopar Challenger Drag Pak test car.
Though this first iteration doesn't make use of the 707-horsepower Hellcat engine, it seems to be a pretty formidable racing package. Starting with a stock '15 Challenger, Mopar adds a full roll cage built to National Hot Rod Association specs. Rubber front and back is drag racing-ready as well, with 28x4.5-inch tires in the front, and fat 30x9-inch tires out back - all from Hoosier.
Powering the beast is a massive 426-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) Hemi Race V8, with output levels that are still unspecified. A Chrysler 727 automatic transmission connects up to a racing style shift lever, with integral line lock.
Dodge idles Viper production again at Conner Avenue
Mon, 07 Jul 2014You've got to hand it to Dodge for having the gumption to put the original Viper into production in the first place. It was, after all, much more of an emotional decision than a practical one, and a move which saw the first production V10 engine placed in a road car - long before the advent of the Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Porsche Carrera GT or Lexus LFA, not to mention the other Ford, BMW and Volkswagen Group models that used such engines.
It's now been 22 years since the first Viper entered production and the Viper still rolls on several generations later, but we're sad to say that courageous decision has not always been met with overwhelming sales success. In fact parent Chrysler was forced to idle the Conner Avenue plant where the Viper is made back in April due to slow sales. And while production resumed again as planned on June 23, it apparently didn't do the trick.
As a result, Chrysler corporate communications chief Shawn Morgan revealed to Autoblog that the assembly line has been shut down again for another two weeks. The line was up and running for nearly two full work weeks from June 23 until the holiday weekend that started on Thursday, July 3. But instead of coming back online today as planned, it's been idled again for the weeks of July 7 and 14. That means it will be July 21, at the earliest, before the serpentine supercars start slithering down the assembly line at Conner Avenue again. Once it does, however, production is set to resume at the same pace it was before the shutdown.
Dodge Vipers selling for $480k in China
Wed, Apr 29 2015Want to get your hands on a new Dodge Viper? Be prepared to pay dearly. It starts at nearly $90k here in the US, but that's nothing compared to what you'd have to pay for one if you lived in, say, China. CarsNewsChina.com reports on one Viper available in Beijing for an eye-watering 298 million yuan – equivalent to about $480,000 at today's exchange rates and representing more than a 500-percent markup. Part of that premium comes down to the Chinese tax code that charges a reported 60 percent for anything with an engine displacing over four liters. And the Viper's, we needn't remind you, is more than twice that. It naturally costs some to import a car to China as well, but most of the rest is pure profit. The Beijing dealership reportedly gets the cars from dealers in California, has already sold three and plans to import several more. The dealer can also get you (or wealthy Chinese individuals) a Corvette Stingray for a comparatively cheap 1.73 million yuan (or $280k). Related Video:
