Up for sale is my own 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT (4WD). This truck is the Megacab version, and is equipped with a 5.9HO Cummins diesel, and automatic transmission with overdrive. This truck is in excellent shape inside and out. I am the second owner of this truck (I purchased it in 2007 with only 11,500 miles on it) and I intended on keeping it for as long as I needed a truck this capable. I've been simplifying my life here lately and have been getting rid of the toys that I have that don't use as much as I use to. This truck was originally purchased to haul my one-ton TJ (rockcrawler) around the East Coast to various wheeling areas. Now that I've sold the Jeep and the car trailer, I just don't want to see this truck sitting unused for weeks at a time.
Factory Options:
- SLT Package
- Tow Package
- Power Windows
- Power Door Locks
- Power Rear Sliding Glass
- Fold down rear seats
- Reclining Rear seats
- ABS
- Driver/Passenger Airbags
- Keyless Entry
- Forged Wheels
- Michelin Tires
Owner Added Options:
- Amsoil Bypass Oil Filtration System (uses OEM Filter location and an additional location on Driver's side of the motor). One of the best oil filtration systems on the market
- Glacier Diesel Performance Fuel Filter System (OEM filter remains intact, adds an additional filter element between stock fuel filter and CP3 pump) Protects fuel injectors from debris; filters smaller containment particles than a stock filter.
- Two "New" Diehard Platinum AGM batteries (same manufacturer that builds Odyssey Batteries)
- Battery Mender AGM Automatic float charger wired into battery charging system.
- Autometer Gauges installed into Triple-Gauge Pod (Pyro, Trans, and Boost) Factory Match Gauges, LED back lit, with standalone dimmer
- Prodigy Brake Controller
- Uniden Bearcat CB (If you tow a lot in the middle of nowhere, this becomes an essential item when caravanning). Easily removed if not wanted.
- Tinted Windows (Professionally installed, high-end film) Tint matches factory tinted rear-windows.
- Cover Craft Seat Covers (factory seats in excellent condition, no known tears, stains or spills) A great set of seat covers. I will remove the seat covers for photos if it is a deal breaker. They are not the easiest to take off and on, but I can assure you the factory seats are in great condition. I take care of my vehicles.
- Weathertech Floor mats.
- Firestone riderite air bags.
- B&W Turn-over gooseneck ball mount in bed
- Bilstein Mono-tube Shocks
- Mopar one-piece aluminum driveshaft (bought straight from the dealer) Still have two-piece driveshaft with carrier bearing, if so desired.
- Line-X spray in bed liner
- Weather Tech Toolbox, Line-X'd inside and out.
- Geno's Garage Muffler Delete (Gives the truck a deep sound, reduces EGTs, and thanks to the Megacab's factory resonator, no drone either)
Maintained Items:
- Oil Changed every 7,500 miles with Amsoil Synthetic. (Even though not required, I change out both the Bypass Filter, and the OEM filter at each change)
- Fuel Filter changed every 7,500 miles. (both stock filter and Aftermarket Fleetguard filter, even though the fleetguard filter is rated for 15,000 miles)
- Coolant factory flushed and exchanged as recommended by Dodge (every 5 years or 60,000 miles)
- Transmission Fluid and Filter changed. Mopar synthetic fluid and Mopar Filter
- Front and Rear Differential Fluid Changed every 15,000 miles (Always replaced with full-synthetic)
- Transfercase fluid serviced at 60,000 miles.
- Tires have good tread and no repairs
- Bilstein Shocks added
- Underside of truck coated with Boeshield T-9 every year for Rust prevention. No Rust issues, just used as a preventative.
- Truck is professionally detailed every three-months (Washed, Clayed, polish, wax, and sealed). Paint is in excellent condition. Few light scratches and road chips here and there from 6-years of light use. This was by no means a work-truck, and was always treated with respect.
This truck is truly part of the family, and quite frankly I'm still a little torn on selling it. I've really had no big issues with this truck. She drives straight down the road; no vibrations, no squeaks, no rattles. She runs great, she pulls well, and is really a fantastic truck. Again, if I had more of a use for it, I'd have no problem keeping it. However, I have no trailers to pull anymore, and my position in the fire service affords me a take-home vehicle, which results in this truck just sitting wanting to be used. If you've been around vehicles as much as I have, you know the worst thing that can happen to a boat/car/truck/airplane is for it to sit unused or to simply rarely use it. The truck has 74,000 miles and has never been flogged, abused or altered in any detrimental way. Every modification that was made to it was to increase life expectancy, not decrease it. This truck has not "rolled coal", has not seen any mud, and frankly has not even spun a tire in it's entire existence with me. Again, this is a vehicle I intended keeping for the long haul, and I really do care about keeping up with maintenance items. I've always been a firm believer in taking care of your equipment and it will take care of you ( I am in the fire-service after all).
I will be glad to answer any questions that you may have as I've been through this truck from one end to the other. You may find better "deals" from some of the car dealers on here, but to them these trucks are just another item they've got to shine up and sling on to the next guy. They don't really care about what they're selling you. I can tell you that I could sell this truck to my best friend, and there wouldn't ever be a cross word said about this truck years down the road.
This is a vehicle that holds its value, and rightfully so due to the 5.9HO Cummins motor (last year of the pre-emission diesels).
Kelly Blue Book Values this truck for Private Party Value at
$34,234 in Excellent Condition
$33,434 in Very Good Condition
$32,534 in Good Condition
$29,834 in Fair Condition
I also know the dealer Black Book value, as well as the general bank loan value of the truck, and I believe that the bidding for this truck will be right in line for its condition. This truck will sell to the general public for what the dealership will give me as a trade-in. That is a great deal for this truck in this condition.
I will assist with shipping in anyway that I can. Be advised that the truck will not leave my possession until payment in full has been made. That means the check clears and posts, or the cash is counted out in my hand. I have a free and clear South Carolina title in my name. Good luck and happy bidding. If you have a feedback score of less than 5, or if I feel uncomfortable in the slightest way about your profile or your history I will cancel your bid.

Stellantis will give its brands 10 years to prove they deserve to live
Thu, May 13 2021Formed by the merger of PSA Peugeot-Citroen and Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles, Stellantis has 14 brands under its roof, a number that makes it one of the largest groups in the industry. Rumors claimed not every brand would survive, with Chrysler often earmarked to get axed, but the firm said it will give them all a chance to shine. "We're giving each (brand) a chance, giving each a time window of 10 years and giving funding for 10 years to do a core model strategy. The CEOs need to be clear in brand promise, customers, targets, and brand communications," announced Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares during the Financial Times' Future of the Car event. His comments confirm Chrysler fans and dealers don't need to worry about the future — at least not yet. And, against all odds, Lancia enthusiasts can breathe a sigh of relief, too. Former FCA head Sergio Marchionne warned of the brand's demise on several occasions. Alfa Romeo is safe for now, too, as is Vauxhall, which are basically just Opels sold in the United Kingdom with a different badge. The engagement made by Tavares also means Stellantis won't divest any of its brands to raise capital until at least 2031. It's now up to each executive team to make a case for the brand they run, an unusual survival-of-the-fittest strategy in an era when cutting costs is more common than spending cash. Diving into the vast Stellantis parts bin should help even the most troubled brands turn their fortunes around on a relatively tight budget. It seems likely that survive Chrysler will need to look beyond the 300 and the Pacifica/Voyager, the only models in its range, and completely reinvent its image, which is currently nebulous at best. Lancia, once the champion of luxury, performance, and innovation, faces the same challenge. It's not starting quite from scratch, it's relatively popular in its home country of Italy, but it will need to think globally and expand outside of the city car segment to survive. Has Dodge stepped in it again with Scat Pack lawsuit?
Mon, 20 Oct 2014Lawsuits are an unfortunate part of doing business in just about any industry, so the latest complaint filed by a California-based aftermarket firm against Chrysler would seem to be nothing more than business as usual. But this isn't the first time the two companies have sparred over this particular issue.
According to a report from Automotive News, the dispute revolves around the Scat Pack name that Chrysler first offered on the Charger, Coronet, Dart and Super Bee starting in 1968. Scat Enterprises, a manufacturer of crankshafts and other components for Dodges and other vehicles, sued Chrysler for using its name. A few years later the Scat Pack disappeared from the Dodge catalog.
Fast forward to August 2013 when Chrysler applied to register the Scat Pack name anew. The US Patent and Trademark Office turned down Chrysler's application, but the automaker proceeded anyway, unveiling new Scat Packs for the Challenger, Charger and Dart at last year's SEMA show.
Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
