2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins on 2040-cars
Arriba, Colorado, United States
I am always available by mail at: valarievsschmitz@delboys.com . 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 SLT.
34,XXX original miles on the truck. Less then 100 miles on a fresh built motor,
transmission, transfer case, injectors, and turbo charger. Very good condition.
Original owner. Truck has never been in accident. It has AC, power windows,
heated and power mirrors, 6 disc changer, satellite radio, manual t-case lever,
power locks, etc… Truck is a 4x4 that has been dropped 4 inches in the rear
and 2 up front.
Engine:
Number 4 cylinder burned a piston so the motor was taken to Mountain High
Performance in Arvada Colorado. Mountain high is a respected shop and Bill, the
owner, has built Cummins motors that have powered trucks to 9 second quarter
mile passes. The cylinder head was gone through, and all cracked were repaired.
The head was given a big valve conversion to increase flow. New seats were
also installed, with 1.340 oversized valves. All guides were repaired as needed,
and the head was decked to .008”. Some light porting/polishing was also
done.
The block was boiled, and cleaned, and the burned cylinder was sleeved, and
everything was bored to .040 over. Each cylinder was honed to fit each piston,
and they were numbered in order so they were all fitted to their respective
cylinders. All bearings were also replaced.
The engine was balanced, and the crank, cam, drive gears, push rods, connecting
rods, pistons, rings, main bearings, oil pump, and sleeve were all cryogenically
treated to increase the harness of the material. Freeze plugs were also threaded
to prevent them from popping. ARP 425 head studs and main studs were used. Cam
shaft is a Hamilton 188 cam, with their valve springs, and HD push rods. The
connecting rods used were new 12 valve rods that were shot peened and cryo
treated.
The machine work alone ran a discounted cost of 8,608, which would have easily
been over 10,000 had I not worked in the same industry and dealt with the shop
on a day to day basis.
Aftermarket parts:
ATS Stage VI transmisison. Billet shafts, flywheel, co-pilot, five star
converter, and deep pan. Trans was gone through less then 100 miles ago at
ATS. $8,580

Cal Trac Traction Bars $419.00
H2 Wheels $400
Custom stack with FTE resonator $560
Total parts: 23,941.54
Machine Work: 8,608 (heavily discounted)
Labor was all done myself, but would cost someone somewhere around 4000 for all
of this.
What it would cost you to build this truck, not including the truck,
approximately, $36,549.54, and that is with heavily discounted machine work.
This truck, by itself, with only 34K miles, would fetch somewhere around $30,000
is my guess. That is $66,549 if you had to go out and do all this yourself!!!
This is a heck of a deal.
Truck has not been dynoed, on it’s old setup with stock head and cam it made
730 rear wheel horsepower on fuel and 918HP on nitrous on bulldog tuning. The
best previous time, it has not been ran since, was a 11.2@124mph. This is a easy
10 second truck now.
As I said I am the original owner of this truck. It was purchased while I was
a senior in high school, and I love it. Sadly I am relocating to California and
need to afford some expensive real estate. Truck really needs nothing but a new
owner.
Truck does not have a bumper in the pictures, it will have a painted to match
roll pan on by the time the auction ends, done by a reputable shop. Really the
only issue with the truck is a few small rock chips along the very lower rockers
from a dirt road, and a very slight scratch on the front right fender. Interior
isn’t perfect, but it looks pretty darn good for 10 years old. For the past
three years I have worked at one of the largest diesel performance shops in the
area, this truck is done right

What is the fastest car in the world in 2024?
Sat, Jun 15 2024It wasn't that long ago that the notion of reaching 200 miles per hour in a car, on a road, seemed basically impossible. As you likely know by now, that time has passed. And once that threshold was crossed, the automotive world immediately began eying the next triple-digit benchmark: 300 miles per hour. It may have taken a little while, but the 300-mph line has been crossed, and some cars have moved well past that seemingly insane speed number. While some of these speeds have been achieved in simulations (including the fastest car listed below), there's little doubt that a driver with nerves of steel and a heavy right foot could indeed push several automobiles up to 300 miles per hour and beyond. Interestingly, it’s not just one car or automaker in the 300-mph club, as a handful of models have earned a place (sometimes claimed but not yet demonstrated) on the leaderboard. The fastest car in the world is: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (330 MPH) That title goes to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which recorded a staggering 330 mph top speed earlier in 2023. The carÂ’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 lays down 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, which plays a significant role in delivering that speed, but KoenigseggÂ’s engineers have given the car a lot more than mind-blowing power. The Jesko Absolut has a super-slippery 0.278 drag coefficient and a nine-speed transmission that shifts so quickly itÂ’s almost imperceptible. Koenigsegg calls it a Light Speed Transmission (LST), saying its shifts happen at almost light speed. While that might be a slight exaggeration, the gearbox is impressive, bringing several wet multi-disc clutches and a super lightweight construction. As Koenigsegg says, "the Jesko Absolut is destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it." How expensive is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut? If you were reading that and wondering how much the fastest car in the world costs, the price tag is just another dizzying number on the Jesko Absolut's spec sheet. All 125 Absolut cars offered sold out at a price of almost $3 million. Of course, being able to afford the Koenigsegg is just the first step in realizing its full potential. There are very few places on the map that can support a 300-plus-mph speed run, and the locations that do are not conveniently located.
eBay Find of the Day: Viper Defender from '90s TV show
Fri, 24 May 2013As car lovers, it's always hard to find a good television show with decent cars, but what the 1990s show Viper lacked in acting, scripting and plot, it more than made up for with cool cars. For starters, the lead car was a Dodge Viper RT/10, but, on screen, it was able to morph into its "Defender" mode making it an armored coupe with a full arsenal of weapons.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a fan of the bad show to love its lead car, and if you really want one, a Defender is up for auction right now on eBay. According to the listing, this car is the real deal - not a clone - and it comes with a V8 engine (not sure what happened to the V10?) and plenty of swag and memorbilia. No word on its actual asking price, but with a day left and 42 bids already, the reserve has not been met at $133,400. The listing does add that this same car was listed at Mecum back in 2010, but did not get sold, even with a bid of $270,000.
Tesla Model S P85D shows 707-hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat how to drag race
Thu, Jan 22 2015Street Car Drags hosted a bang-up event at the Palm Beach International Raceway last weekend, with a list of massive horsepower ICE cars going up against one another and a trio of Tesla Model S P85Ds. One of those duels pitted the 691-horsepower Tesla against a 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and the result was an old-school beatdown and a world record for electric cars. The Model S P85D ran the quarter in 11.6 seconds at 114.6 miles per hour, the new mark for BEVs at the drag strip. Proving its pace, it ran three more times in 11.69, 11.72 and 11.76 seconds. It got from the start line to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds. The Hellcat, well, it wasn't a race, really. It was the Hellcat's driver's first time at a drag strip and his first time trying to launch it, so after an excellent burnout ahead of the lights, he rolled to the line, almost jumped the start, balked at the real start and spun his tires for the first 100 feet down the strip. The theory is that he overheated his street tires during that burnout, and the resulting greasy rubber did what greasy rubber does. By the time he got to the other end 17.46 seconds later the Tesla driver had showered and was enjoying a funnel cake. When things go right, though, Dodge estimates the Hellcat will do 11.2-second runs on street tires and it has been clocked at 10.85 seconds at 126.18 mph on street-legal drag radials. There's video of the not-quite-a-race above, and Drag Times says there'll be a rematch between the two in a couple of weeks.
