Up for auction is this 1 family owned and NO accidents 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT crew cab with the 5.9 HO cummins turbo diesel. It is a ONE family owned truck, purchased new by the father. It has 255k miles on it, and has been well taken care of. The heaviest thing it pulled was an 18' enclosed trailer, never gooseneck or 5th wheeled. The Body is above average for the miles, only some minor dings and some wear on the tailgate, which still opens and closes fine. One ding in rear bumper.  The engine is perfect, idles smooth, runs perfect, no smoke and no blowby. Engine and trans are original to the truck and still perform great. You can drive this truck home anywhere. The trip computer shows it averaging 24.7 mpg. I am calculating more like 23 at the pum, which is still incredible for a heavy duty truck! The interior is above average for an 05 with this mileage. It does have moderate to heavy wear on the driver's seat which is to be expected. It is still very comfortable and there are seat covers over the front seats. The front drivers seat is power and works great. All gauges work properly, and the dash has NO cracks. The tires are 295/70/17 and are mud terrains with about half tread remaining. Wheels are factory premium aluminum wheels.  New parts within the last 4 months are as follows: front brakes, power steering pump, 2 new batteries, new alternator, and all new front suspension bushings-tie rods, control arm bushings etc. almost $2000 worth. It is ready to roll. ANyone who knows these trucks knows 255k is just broke in for a 5.9 HO common rail diesel. These arent bogged down with emissions crap like the 2007+ 6.7 engines, so these are the most sought after of all diesels. You will be hard pressed to find a better truck for the money. THis is an SLT, not a stripper work truck model. Options include Power windows, locks, driver's seat, upgraded aluminum wheels, tow package, trip computer, cruise, tilt, fog lights, center console with double storage compartments, etc. Please serious bidders only I am listing this truck at NO RESERVE! You will not find a better deal, please bid to win. That being said, i reserve the right to end this auction at any time for any reason, as truck is for sale locally. Truck sold as is, no warranty expressed or implied. Please feel free to ask with any questions. Thanks and good luck!

couple of notes i wanted to add: The truck has a very nice Sony removable face CD player with remote. Sounds great. Also windshield does have a long crack running high across. It has current inspection until May 2013. Thanks for all the interest ad good luck!

Chrysler recalling 644k more Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs over brakes

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

Early last month, we reported on Chrysler issuing a preemptive, proactive recall for about 25,000 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. The issue revolved around a brake system that wasn't causing any actual problems, but delivered an unsatisfactory brake feel, so Auburn Hills called in a good 25,000 of SUVs around the world, including 18,700 in the United States.
Now Chrysler, having apparently determined that the brake problem on its sport utes is actually much bigger than it initially realized, has drastically broadened the scope of the recall. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for precisely 655,354 examples of the Grand Cherokee and Durango, covering the 2011 through 2014 model years. In addition, Chrysler is recalling 42,380 units in Canada, 21,376 in Mexico and 159,685 overseas.
The problem which Chrysler found revolves around the brake booster, whose center shell has been found to be subject to corrosion, allowing water to get into the brake system. That water in turn could freeze, preventing the brakes from working as well as expected.

Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.

China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians

Tue, Aug 15 2017

NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.
