Up for sale is a 2003 Dodge 2500 SLT with a 5.7l Hemi. The truck has about 98k, this may change because I do drive it occasionally. The reason for selling is that I bought a new truck and don't have a need for this truck anymore. This truck runs great, the transmission was rebuilt in the summer of 2011, the transfer case was also rebuilt in November of 2011. There is still a warranty on the transmission, I have receipts for both of these repairs. Regular maintenance was done on the truck, oil changes, grease, tire rotations, spark plugs,u joints, brakes were done all the way around last November. I just replaced the alternator and battery this past December. I have plowed with the truck for 3 years, mostly residential plowing. The truck will not come with any of the wiring/hardware for the plow. The truck will come with the tool box and back rack pictured. The truck has a 2 inch leveling kit with Nitto Trail Grapplers on it with about 50% tread life left on them. The body of the truck is in normal condition for the year of the truck, a few scratches and dents, nothing major. The truck has a full 8' bed with rubber bed liner. There is rust on the wheel wells and the corners of the cab which can be seen in the pictures. The interior of the truck is in very good condition, black leather seats with no tears or holes. Front seat is a bench style with a fold down counsel, the drivers seat is power and the passenger is manual. The rear seat is a 60/40 folding. There is a flip down steel cargo tray under the rear seat that came stock. There are floor mats in the truck that will come with it. Muffler was replaced with aftermarket, still have stock muffler if wanted. The truck is for sale locally also, I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to call me, 815-823-4450 ask for Josh.

Dodge gives 2015 Viper slight power increase, new GT model
Tue, 02 Sep 2014With its troubling sales figures, the newly rechristened SRT Dodge Viper needs to come out swinging for 2015. To do that, Dodge has made a number of tweaks and changes that will hopefully carry the V10-powered sports car into more successful days.
First up for 2015 is a new GT model, which aims to marry the reasonable price of the base car with the adjustable suspension and trick stability control program of the GTS model. The GT also sports a cabin that's covered in Alcantara suede and Nappa leather as standard.
Also new for 2015 is the SRT TA 2.0 Special Edition, which expands on last year's Viper TA by adding new aerodynamic bits and bobs, including a larger rear wing, which ups downforce at 150 miles per hour from 278 pounds to 400 pounds.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
2013 Dodge Dart GT
Mon, 16 Dec 2013My younger brother bought a Dodge Dart earlier this summer. It's a basic SXT, in Maximum Steel Metallic, with the 2.0-liter engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and not a whole lot else. Unfortunately, at the time, the Dart was one of the few cars in the compact class I'd never driven. I didn't know a lot about it, and therefore, didn't have a lot to say when he bought it. I think the words "based on an Alfa," popped out when I first saw it.
As it turns out, he's grown quite fond of the dark gray sedan, so it was with some degree of enthusiasm that I paid him a visit in this bright-orange Dart GT. I was excited to see what it was about the Dart that he enjoyed so much, despite my tester featuring a different engine, transmission and a lot more tech. After a week with the car, though, I must say: I don't quite see what all the fuss is about.
