This ad is for my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L gas engine truck. The truck is 4WD and has an extended cab with the quad cab doors. Mechanically, the truck is in very good condition. I just purchased the truck in September of 2013. The truck runs great and drives as it should. I recently had the transmission replaced with a remanufactured transmission. Since I did not know what kind of service was done with the truck, I had the plugs, cap, rotor, and spark plug wires all recently replaced. Coolant was replaced while it was in the shop getting the transmission done. Again, mechanically, the truck is flawless. The truck currently has just under 113K miles on the odometer.

The truck’s interior is in great shape as well. The seats are in good shape with no tears or rips. The dash has a form fitted dash mat installed. The previous owner had a 4 way emergency (white & amber) strobe lights installed (2 in the grille & 2 in the back window). The previous owner also installed a flip out monitor in the dash. You can use it when you want to watch a dvd, but it also displays the view from behind when you put the truck in reverse to use the back up camera. The unit also has an iPod hook up (so you can play your ipod & control it from the radio), satellite radio (I never subscribed), and GPS (I never used it). The truck has a sliding rear window also. I wanted a little more storage to hold little things (like my cell phone), so I installed visor pockets. The truck also has a Viper alarm with remote start that was recently installed. No more going out to a cold or hot truck. The truck has dark tint all around.

The exterior of the truck is basically stock. It does have LED cab lights installed on the roof. Aftermarket headlights were installed. I picked these lights b/c they give better light output than most of the other aftermarket lights. KC highlights fog lights were installed to give even more light output. The previous owner also installed a set of back up lights on a separate switch for additional lighting when backing up.

One bad thing about the truck is the passenger fender was replaced by the previous owner, but the paint was poorly done. I wanted a reliable truck, so the cosmetics never bothered me. There is rust on the bottom of the driver & passenger door. I have a new passenger door that I will include with the sale, but I have not found a rust free driver’s door yet. The passenger door will need to be repainted. There is no other rust on the bed or under the truck. The previous owner had the under carriage covered with a rust protectant, so no worries there. I did notice a small chip in the windshield, and the horn does not work. But the previous owner had air horns installed and has a separate button on the dash.

**THE TOOLBOX IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE SALE.**

If the potential owner and I can agree on a price (if they are interested) I may agree to sell the toolbox with the truck. It is a Weatherguard brand toolbox (they usually sell for $600-800 brand new). The nice thing about this toolbox is that it is wired into the existing alarm system, so the contents are protected with the truck's alarm.

Legacy Classic Power Wagon First Drive

Wed, Oct 7 2015

Shortly before the US entered World War II, Dodge supplied the military with a line of pickups internally codenamed WC, those letters designating the year 1941 and the half-ton payload rating. From 1941 to 1945 Dodge built more than a quarter million of them, and even though "WC" came to refer to the Weapons Carrier body style, the WC range served in 38 different configurations from pickup trucks to ambulances to six-wheeled personnel and weapons haulers. The story is that soldiers returning from active duty badgered Dodge for a civilian version of that indefatigable warhorse, so Dodge responded with the Power Wagon in 1946. Even for those no-nonsense times the truck was so austere that the first three names Dodge gave it were "Farm Utility Truck," "WDX General Purpose Truck," and "General Purpose, One Ton Truck." "Power Wagon" was the fourth choice, not finalized until just before it went on sale. Nothing like today's Power Wagon, the original could be seen as either a glorified tractor or a slightly less uncouth military vehicle – hell-for-leather meant going 50 miles per hour. But it would go nearly anywhere. The civilian version was still built like it had to survive, well, a world war; power take-offs (PTOs) ran all manner of ancillaries; multiplicative gear ratios helped it produce enough torque to make an earthquake envious. Said to be the first civilian 4x4 truck made in America, any organization that needed a simple, sturdy mechanized draught animal knew it needed a Power Wagon. If that history, the aura of war, and the ruthless functionality attract you but the mean comforts and 70-year-old manners don't, then you need to get in touch with Legacy Classic Trucks. The Jackson Hole, WY, restorer retains every ounce of the Power Wagon's orchard-work aptitude, decorated with present-day amenities and the best components. Each job starts with having to find a usable donor. The city of Breckenridge, CO, bought the red truck in our gallery in 1947 and used it as a snowplow for the next 30 years. In 1977 a log-home builder bought it from the city and used it for another decade as a company hauler. That's the kind of grueling longevity that lets Ram put a five-figure premium on the 2500 Power Wagon pickup it sells today. Legacy Classics founder Winslow S.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.
