2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Slt Quad Cab 4-door 4wd 5.7l on 2040-cars
Cadiz, Kentucky, United States
Up for sale is a 2007 Dodge 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 Big Horn Edition. I purchased this vehicle new in 2007. It has been very well taken care of as can be seen in the photos. This vehicle has never been in an accident or had any damage of any kind. I personally have performed the maintainance on this vehicle. The oil and filter have been changed every 3000 miles without exception. I use only original equipment Mopar oil filters and Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. The plugs have been changed per manufacturers recomendations(every 35000 miles) with original equipment parts. At 100,000 miles I changed the transmission filters (both of them) with factory dodge filters and replaced the fluid with Mopar trans fluid. At that time I also replaced the brake pads (all 4 wheels) with Dodge original equipment pads, not aftermarket. I also performed a thorough inspection and found no leaks or anything at all wrong with this truck. The air filter has been change per manufacturer recommended intervals with oem replacement parts. This truck is all original with all maintainance performed with original Dodge parts. The truck has never had any problems at all, it has been perfect. I honestly have never even had to change a light bulb. The interior of the truck is clean and shows almost no wear. After about a year, the front drivers seat was begining to show where I was sliding in and out of it, so I bought the seat covers you see in the picture and they have been on ever since. The seats under them are still in excellant condition. The truck has NEVER been smoked in. The tires however will need to be change before too long they are almost at the wear line. The truck has a factory accessory bed rug as can be seen in the pictures. This was installed at the dealership when I purchased the truck and has never been removed. The inside of the bed does not have a scratch. The truck runs, drives, and rides like new. The truck is primarily used to pull my bass boat and on family outings, it has not been used as a work truck. If you have any questions or need additional imformation, you can call or text me @ 270-498-0421. This is a clean, well maintained, well taken care of truck in excellent condition. Buy with confidence.

FCA and Cummins named in diesel emissions class-action lawsuit
Mon, Nov 14 2016Chrysler is now the first United States-based carmaker to be sued for allegedly skewing emissions results. In a move that sounds eerily similar to the troubles of European manufacturers, Chrysler is claimed to have hid diesel engine characteristics causing emissions as much as 14 times higher than permitted by regulations. According to Bloomberg, the lawsuit alleges that Chrysler, together with its diesel engine partner Cummins, has concealed the nitrogen oxide output of certain Ram vehicles produced between 2007 and 2012. The NOx pollutants were meant to be broken down in a process called regeneration in the truck's NAC system, or NOx Absorption Catalyst, which predated the 2013-introduced SCR, or Selective Catalytic Reduction system. By design, the NAC captures and stores NOx emissions, converting them to nitrogen and oxygen through a catalytic process. The lawsuit claims the Cummins engine's system has a limited capacity to store the emissions, and as a result the pollutants escape, increasing emissions, worsening fuel consumption and wearing down the catalytic converter. The later, cleaner SCR system uses a urea-water injection, and it gradually replaced the NAC on Cummins 6.7-liter engines, as it was first implemented in 2011 and made standard in 2013. As Bloomberg notes, the model years of Ram trucks involved in the lawsuit predate the earliest Volkswagen "Dieselgate" models by two years. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of 500,000 truck owners, accuses Chrysler and Cummins of fraud, false advertising and racketeering. As an underlying motive, the filing mentions a 2001 change in EPA emissions standards. Announced to become effective in 2010, the EPA requirements drove Chrysler and Cummins to try and reach those already by 2007. However, the NAC system is said to have fallen short of these goals, and the filing claims that Chrysler and Cummins chose to "rig" the engines instead. The affected vehicles predate the 2014 merger of Chrysler and Fiat. FCA US has released a statement regarding the lawsuit, saying it will contest the lawsuit "vigorously". Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
