2006 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 1500 Slt on 2040-cars
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Up for Auction is a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab pickup truck. It has 65,595 miles as of this writing, will possibly have 100 more by the end of the auction.
The truck is in Very Good Condition. It is spotless, newly waxed and detailed including engine bay, wheels & wheel wells, bed liner and interior. Everything works perfectly; there are no stray noises or vibrations. No stories at all. NADA values are $12,275 “Clean Trade-in” and $15,150 “Clean Retail”. I canvassed AutoTrader.com and Cars.com for similar trucks within 500 miles and found about 30 examples, with 57-146,000 miles, most missing some options, with asking prices in the range of about $13,000 to $17,000+.
The truck is very well-equipped, with the SLT package (see window sticker in pictures), plus these notable Options: Towing Package, Bed Liner, Rear Sliding Window, and SIRRIUS satellite radio. Please see window sticker for complete list. There are also extra bits of chrome trim, etc., that I cannot find on the options, but you can see in the pictures. The truck also comes with the add-on rail bed gate (not pictured, never used, but I can send pictures to anyone who wants to see) and a 500/5,000 lbs. trailer hitch (used once).
I bought this truck from the Dodge Dealer in Beaufort, SC, December 1, 2010. It had had one local owner before, and was maintained by the dealership. It had 37,860 miles and new tires (60,000 mile limited Warranty). I have driven the truck 28,100 miles, and that is just about in line with the tires: now 60% front tread, 50% rear tread, based on the Firestone Specification of 20/32” new tread depth. It has been maintained by the Dodge dealer in Bluffton, SC ever since I bought it - Nothing out of scheduled maintenance ever happened, but they have all the records.
I bought a Carefree Car Protection Mechanical Failure Contract, Gold Coverage, from Chrysler, adding 3 years and 36,000 miles. The Service Contract is good to 73,860 miles or 12/01/2013. This is transferrable to the new owner for a fee of $40.00, which Buyer will pay, if desired.
Flaws: there are 2 little picks in the upholstery of the rear seats (shown in video), a slight ripple in the drivers side rear chrome bumper (hard to see, but look at photo of left quarter), a very few minor scratches around the truck – I could not see them when I was taking these pictures, but I know there are about 4-5 places, plus a touched-up hand-sized area of little scrapes on the corner of the painted vinyl front bumper, driver’s side. There is a very tiny stone scar on the passenger side upper edge of the windshield, that is 1/4 ” diameter, and has been there since I bought the truck, with no change since then.
If there are any questions, please call Hank at (843) 290-4368
Thanks for looking at my Auction and Good Luck!
Please look at the descriptive, but very amateurish video:

Chrysler Group moves around execs in wake of recent departure
Tue, 16 Apr 2013Chrysler is busy shuffling executives around in the wake of Ram head Fred Diaz's departure. The automaker has named Reid Bigland (pictured, right) as Diaz's successor in the role of president and CEO of Ram, though Bigland will continue his duties as the head of US sales and the president and CEO of Chrysler Canada. Bigland first came to Chrysler in 2006 from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, so the guy knows a thing or two about trucks.
Meanwhile, Timothy Kuniskis will take over as president and CEO of Dodge. Previously, he served as the head of Fiat in North America and has been with Chrysler in one capacity or another since 1992. His old title now falls to Jason Stoicevich, who will also continue to work as the director of the automaker's California Business Center. Finally, Bruno Cattori will take over as the president and CEO of Chrysler Mexico.
Diaz left his position to take over as a divisional vice president of sales and marketing with Nissan. You can read the full press release on the Chrysler personnel changes below for more information.
Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily
Wed, 19 Nov 2014In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.
Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV
Fri, 29 Aug 2014This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.
