Experience the New York Auto Show by drone
Fri, Apr 10 2015The Autoblog team recently returned from wildly running around the Javits Center to cover all the news and debuts at the New York Auto Show. Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Plus, it's a fun way to see some vehicles from a completely different angle than they ever appear on the road. Dodge Challenger Hellcat drift video is pure horsepower porn
Fri, Mar 27 2015We could listen to the whining, snarling 6.2-liter Hemi V8 in the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats all day long. The noise just sounds like power that's being barely restrained and is everything about a muscle car that's right. The team at Pennzoil apparently understands that allure, too. The oil company has a new video where it lets the engine roar for over a minute, while a Challenger does some big, smoky drifts through an abandoned city. The whole stunt is edited together in a slickly produced way that looks fantastic. Although, the big finale might go a little too far and starts straining believability. Nonetheless, the Hellcat's wonderful noise is still the star of this show. Related Video:
2013 Dodge Dart gets all Moparized
Fri, 08 Feb 2013Last year, Chrysler announced it would be offering more than 150 Mopar parts and accessories on the 2013 Dodge Dart, and we got a look at some of these parts firsthand at the Chicago Auto Show. Showing off all the optional parts at once would surely create a gaudy monstrosity, so Chrysler chose to equip this particular Dart GT with just a handful of Mopar goodies, which still gave the car a nice and tasteful custom look that is available straight from the dealership (and with a full warranty, too).
Decked out in a factory color called Header Orange Clear Coat - also a very appropriate show car hue - this car added exterior styling parts such as the vented, carbon fiber hood, the bolt-on front chin spoiler and a matte black decklid spoiler. Looking inside the car, you'd think the red-accented interior is part of the Mopar parts bin, too, but this is actually what the standard Dart GT cabin will look like when it goes on sale.
