2004 Dodge Ram 1500 St Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Suwanee, Georgia, United States
Thanks for taking a look at, and hopefully buying, my Dodge Ram 1500. It is a bright red regular cab with a 5.7 hemi and an automatic transmission. It has 20 inch wheels and runs and drives great. The previous owner added duals to the truck and it sounds great. It does nothing wrong and I would not fear hopping in it and driving it across the united states. I just changed the oil and put front brakes on it. I thought I could make a regular cab work for my business, but as it turns out, I have to get the extra interior space of a double cab truck. This is a great truck. I will add more pics as soon as the snow thaws off of it. I am in Suwanee Georgia and we had a freak snow and ice storm this week. Please email any questions and I will try to answer as soon as possible. It is available for a local buyer to look at. I will not collect sales tax and will not pay your sales tax. The purchaser is solely responsible to pay them. It is for sale local and I reserve the right to remove it without notice. It is being sold as is and without a warranty. I can help with shipping information, should you have any questions. Thanks again for looking and have a great day.
On Mar-07-14 at 19:51:52 PST, seller added the following information: I have added some more photos and have added interior shots. I took them this morning when i was on the way to work. It was dark but I think they look ok. I folded down the center arm rest ( which also function as center seat back) and saw the wear spot I have photographed and put in the pictures. It is worn and I don't think it can be repaired. I would throw a cover on it if I were to use it as a console. I always left it up when I drove it. I didn't even see it until today. It has a few scratches just in front of the right wheel well that are also see in the photo array. This is a great truck and is ready to go. Thanks again. On Mar-07-14 at 19:57:40 PST, seller added the following information: I just read the information and it states for sale by dealer. I just thought it was prudent to let you know that I am not a car dealer, I am selling it as an individual. I can not change it in the ad, but i figured I would add it here. |

These Canadians somehow forgot how to drive in snow
Tue, Dec 6 2016Montreal drivers experienced a slow-motion pileup on their streets this weeks thanks to the first snow fall of the season. According to the CBC, slippery conditions caused a small pileup involving cars, buses and even a street clearing vehicle. Onlookers in neighboring office buildings watched as vehicle after vehicle slid down Cote du Beaver Hall and crashed into the scrum of waiting cars. First there was a city bus, then a white Ford F-150 work truck loaded down with ladders, then another city bus came along and sandwiched the poor F-150. A Montreal Police Charger then came down the hill backwards, hit the bus in a slow, sad crash before it was crashed into by an out of control plow truck. Since its posting yesterday, the video of the crash has gone viral. Various other vehicles–a green-topped Scion delivery truck and a couple workaday sedans–were lucky enough to escape the pileup, but still suffered through a white-knuckled slippery descent down the hill. Colin Creado, who works nearby the crash site, told the CBC although it was pretty slippery, he was surprised at all the carnage since the storm was forecast well in advance. "You would have thought ... they would have salted the area or at least cordoned it off, because that road is pretty steep," he told the station. Guy trying to sell Challenger Hellcat for $89,000 because VIN ends in '666'
Mon, Jul 27 2015The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is undoubtedly one of the baddest cars on the road today. With a 707-horsepower supercharged V8 snarling under the hood, the coupe can go down the road like a bat out of hell. There's not much that could make one of these muscle machines much more menacing, but a seller on Craigslist has one bizarre solution: offering a hellacious Hellcat with a VIN marking the Dodge as the beastly 666. What's the price for such unholy identification? That's a cool $89,000 – around $30,000 more than a brand new, less sacrilegious example. The seller claims that the Challenger's blasphemous number makes the vehicle "one of a kind," which is true only to the extent that VINs ending 665 and 667 would be similarly unique. The seller also says in the Craigslist ad, "This car is sure to become a collector's item and will only increase in value." There's no question that the Hellcat is a special machine, and the models just might be worth something decades into the future. Expecting that a future owner is going to care about the VIN seems pretty optimistic, though, unless this is either the first or last example, which it's not. To the credit of this superstitious seller, the Challenger appears completely untouched with all of the warning stickers, paperwork and even the plastic still covering the seats. So, the new owner is at least getting a practically untouched example. While we applaud audacity here, a roughly $30,000 premium for an unholy VIN seems a bit... devilish.
NHTSA is investigating FCA shifters for roll-away accidents again, this time the rotary units
Tue, Dec 20 2016It seems FCA's shifter troubles aren't over yet. Now, just a few months after issuing a recall to resolve user-related issues with its monostable shifters, the company is again under investigation by NHTSA. The issue is related to the potential for cars to roll away when the rotary-style shifter is not properly placed in park. Two FCA models are the subject of this investigation: the 2013–2016 Ram 1500 and the 2014–2016 Dodge Durango. NHTSA estimates about 1,000,000 vehicles would be affected if a recall is issued. The investigation was started following 43 complaints of vehicles rolling away while supposedly being in "park." Among the complaints were reports of 25 crashes and 9 injuries. NHTSA does point out that in every incident, the parking brake was not engaged. A representative from FCA also gave us an official statement regarding the investigation: "FCA US is cooperating fully with NHTSA's investigation, the scope of which is limited. Other vehicles equipped with rotary shifters are not included. In accordance with prudent practice, the Company joins NHTSA in urging all drivers to use their vehicles' parking brakes." View 35 Photos As mentioned above, other Chrysler products with rotary shifters, such as the Pacifica minivan and 200 sedan, are not involved in this investigation. One of the key differences, as the representative told us, is that these vehicles have electronic parking brakes that automatically engage if the driver does not select park and then opens the door with the seatbelt unbuckled. The Ram 1500 and Durango feature mechanical, manually operated parking brakes and therefore cannot activate the brake automatically. Because this is currently an investigation, an exact cause for the incidents has yet to be determined, and none of the vehicles have been recalled. It's possible there could be a mechanical defect. However, the issue could be a confusing interface causing user error, as was the case with FCA's monostable shifters, where drivers think they've put the car in park but actually haven't. Something that indicates it could be a case of confused users is that NHTSA also opened an investigation into 2012–2014 Jaguar XF and Land Rover Range Rover Evoques for similar issues. Both vehicles use a rotary shifter and have had roll-away complaints levied as well. Even if it is a case of user error, FCA and Jaguar Land Rover may still have to recall their vehicles.
