2001 Dodge Ram 1500, Rebuilt Trans W/warranty, 5.9 Gas Motor, 2wd on 2040-cars
Joliet, Illinois, United States
2001 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Extended Cab with rear doors. When I bought this truck, it needed the d/s fender, a new hood, hood hinges, windshield, grill, dash cover, trans repair, and tires. All of that has been taken care of. New windshield installed ($145), Used factory hood and fender painted and replaced ($500), rebuilt transmission with 2 year warranty ($2400), brand new tires ($600), new dash 'cover' ($150), and new grill (not stock, $90). I also purchased a fiberglass tonneau cover for the bed ($400).
I bought this truck for work, (used to work construction), and now have switched jobs, and no longer need it. This truck runs great, shifts smooth, and looks good, with minor rust that you can see in the pictures. This truck will go ANYWHERE! The rear doors latching mechanisms are stuck, and have not tried freeing them, but I'm sure with some PB Blast sprayed on them and let it work itself into them, they should open without problem. I have no need for this truck anymore, put quite a bit of money into it, so someone is going to get a GREAT deal on this thing. |

Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled
Sun, 24 Feb 2013A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.
Dodge Viper recall requires small-handed mechanics
Fri, 25 Apr 2014It has been over a year since Chrysler first announced its recall of 3,660 2003-2004 Dodge Vipers because the airbag could suddenly deploy. The repairs are finally beginning, and it appears to be a nightmare for mechanics.
According to the automaker's filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag control module can fail, which causes the bag or the seatbelt pre-tensioner to deploy without warning. It took over a year to design the new parts, according to The New York Times. However, Chrysler finally has a new "jumper harness with an in-line diode filter circuit" ready to fix the problem.
The dilemma now moves to the mechanics who have to actually install the part. A 47-step guide from Chrysler explains that the procedure should take about two hours. It's not an easy job, though. Most of the dashboard has to be taken apart, and the instructions include this helpful bit of advice: "Installing the jumper harness and filter box into position is not an easy task. Patience, perseverance, and small hands are required." We wish the best of luck to them. The fix comes just in time for the Vipers to enjoy the summer sun.
Dodge Challenger returns to Trans Am
Fri, 15 Aug 2014NASCAR's Nationwide Series may have switched (in appearance anyway) to muscle cars, but American racing fans know that if they want to see real muscle cars on the street circuits, the only place to look is Trans Am. The all-American racing series is packed with Mustangs, Camaros and even Corvettes. The one thing it's been missing is the Dodge Challenger, but now SRT Motorsports has announced it's bringing its muscle car back where it belongs.
Rather than waiting until next year, the Miller Racing team is switching mid-season to the new Dodge Challenger SRT Trans Am racer you see here, just in time for this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio. And not just that - it's lined up a compelling pair of drivers to pilot it, as well.
The No. 11 car will be driven by Trans Am legend Tommy Kendall, a four-time series champion who's been off the grid since 2004. Backing him up in the No. 1 Challenger will be none other than Cameron Lawrence, the driver who has won five out of six races in the Chevy Camaro so far this season, losing out only once to American racing scion Adam Andretti.
