1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab, Laramie Slt, 5.9l Magnum V8 360ci, Automatic Rwd on 2040-cars
Harvest, Alabama, United States
You are bidding on a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab in good condition. The truck looks good, runs good, and drives good. I am the second owner, and my Dad was the first. There have been no wrecks or any major issues with this truck. Other than the usual maintenance, I have only had to replace the starter and water pump. This is a very dependable truck. Details: Laramie SLT, 5.9L Magnum V8 360ci, Automatic RWD, power steering, air conditioning, 6-Passenger Seating, Front Split Bench, Power doors and windows, power exterior mirrors, power driver seat, overhead console with compass/temperature, fog lights, Infinity Audio System, chrome wheels, rear wheel differential (limited-slip), towing package, and bedliner.
Tires and Brakes are in good condition. Truck has never used oil. Only Mobil 1 synthetic oil has been used, and was recently changed. New water pump, drive belt, and coolant hoses. New molded ABS plastic dash cover. Owner's Manual and 2 keys are included. There are a few paint scratches/blemishes, such as on hood, roof, and bumpers. Small cloth tear on driver side sun visor. Cruise Control does not work (since I never use cruise control, I never tried to fix). Stereo CD player does not work, and has some problems with search/scan (Fix: I have included a GOgroove FlexSMART X2 Wireless In-Car Bluetooth FM Transmitter with USB Charging , Music Control , and Hands-Free Calling for Smartphones. Just tune to the same radio frequency and listen to your phone's music or phone calls through the stereo speakers). Extras: 2 new 20" wiper blades, GOgroove Wireless Bluetooth FM transmitter. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS, with no warranty. If you need a camper shell that fits this truck, my 2005 Century High C Camper Shell is also for sale this week. My wife had a closet remodeling business, but had to quit due to back problems. Thanks for looking. |

Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.
FCA seeks partner to keep building Dodge Dart, Chrysler 200
Wed, Mar 9 2016Mere weeks after FCA announced it was shutting down production of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200, new hope emerges to give the sedans a stay of execution. Speaking at the Geneva Motor Show last week, Sergio Marchionne said that the company was looking for a partner "who is better at it than we are and who has got capacity available" in order to continue building the models on its behalf. "There are discussions going on now," said Marchionne, according to Motor Trend. "I think we will find a solution. We continue to talk. It's both a technical solution and an economic one. We need to find a solution that works economically." Contracting vehicles to be manufactured offsite is more common practice among European automakers than it is with American ones. Chrysler's former patron Mercedes, for example, has the G-Class built for it by Magna Steyr in Austria, the A-Class by Valmet in Finland, and the R-Class by AM General in Indiana (even though it's no longer sold in the US). This arrangement would, on the surface at least, appear more similar to the deal that Toyota struck with Mazda to build the Scion iA, drawing on the contractor's expertise and capacity to build the small sedan on the client company's behalf. Only rather than basing a new model on one of the partner's existing ones, this deal would ostensibly continue building FCA models on FCA platforms using FCA components. We'll have to wait to find out with whom FCA strikes up the manufacturing deal, but we wouldn't be surprised to see Marchionne turn to a partner he already knows. The company is, after all, at the center of an intricate web of joint ventures and manufacturing contracts. The Fiat 124 Spider, for example, is built by Mazda. The Fiat Sedici that preceded the 500X was built by Suzuki. Models like the Dodge Stealth and Eagle Talon were built in Illinois at the Diamond-Star Motors joint venture before Mitsubishi took it over altogether. And Dodge continued selling the Mercedes-made Sprinter long after DaimlerChrysler split. The Ram ProMaster, though built by FCA in Mexico for the North American market, stems from a partnership in France with PSA Peugeot Citroen. And the ProMaster City is built in a joint-venture plant in Turkey, from which it's also sold by GM as an Opel in Europe and a Vauxhall in the UK. With all those deals coming and going, after all, what would one more add to the complexity?
Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power
Tue, 21 May 2013A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.
