1970 Dodge D100 Swepty

Heres a chance to buy a nice original D100 Sweptline 1/2 ton truck
VIN D14AJ0S160401

Runs and drives, I just drove it home on a 25 mile trip across town.
Front end is pretty worn out so youll want to address that before
breaking any speed limits. Motor sounds healthy and plenty of power
as the trans works like it should. Brake are okay too, they may needs
some adjusting, but it also may be the worn out front end parts causing
it to pull.
Restore the suspension / detail under the hood and keep the patina on the body
for a really cool rat rod ish D100 thats been 40+ yrs in the making !

OBVIOUSLY THIS Truck NEEDS A alot of  RESTORATION FRONT TO REAR
BUT I WILL TRY TO DETAIL OUT SOME INFO THAT CANT BE SEEN IN
THE PICS BELOW.

OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself
and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past
year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much
easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence.
NOT MANY OF THESE TRUCKS are around anymore this rust free.
YES it has some surface rust,  but paint looks to be all original
The rockers got the worst of the rust and one of the lower doors (see pics)
Not bad for an AZ truck

DRIVETRAIN: factory original 383 motor w/ auto 727 trans
with PS too and Factory AC. Ac hasnt been working for a few
yrs but it all looks to be there. The motor does have an aftermarket
carb and air cleaner too. Some glass packs under the truck make
for a cool old sound that fits the truck well.

INTERIOR: obviously needs a some restoration, but looks complete
and all the main stuff there. Seats, dash, glove box etc. Factory
bench seat ..ok. Radio missing.
Floors are very solid as is behind the seat by the gastank and battery
box area too. Door jambs look like original paint too.
All the glass looks to be good and original too which is a plus
EXCEPT for the front windshield has a crack.

EXTERIOR: body for the most part, really straight, but there
is one dent in the tailgate, didnt see much of else worth
mentioning. Paint looks to be original and the only rust I could
find was part of the lower rockers between the wheels.
(see pics) All the trim looks complete and in nice shape.
Check out the top/roof !! it has some special option, dont recall
the same, but Im sure someone viewing the ad remembers
what they called it.

THE BED looks to be pretty decent too as this was
a work truck over the yrs on a ranch, and at one time some
tool boxes I think where bolted in the bed and some gas
tanks added. At the moment its just running off the main
tank behind the front seat.

SUSPENSION: basically all stock and original and probably
very worn out and ready for a nice Resto Mod restoration.
AZ heat has been hard on the rubber bushings even just from
sitting. It will eventually need to be restored too of course.
Centerline style rims look okay on it too.

This truck is your typical rust free Arizona car but it is
a car that needs some rust repair and still better then one sitting
near the coast or in the rust belt. When we say rust free, we mean
no holes etc you are use to seeing on an east coast vehicle.

These D100 trucks rarely even come up for sale in this condition
which is affordable to almost anyone wanting a project Dude clone
or just a cool old Dodge with patina and factory 383 and AC :)
Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

Mopar rolls out new Scat Packages for Dodge Challenger, Charger and Dart

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Dodge buyers looking for that extra performance edge, take note: Mopar is bringing back the Scat Pack. Announced at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas today, the new Scat Packages will be available in three stages for the Challenger, Charger and Dart starting next spring.
Upgrades for the Charger and Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine include a
new cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust, as well as a remapped ECU. Upgrade to the Scat Package 2 and you get a new camshaft, and the Scat Package 3 tosses in ported and polished heads and hi-flow headers. Upgrades for the Dart GT with the smaller 2.4-liter, four-cylinder Tigershark engine with six-speed manual transmission start with a cold-air intake, short-throw shifter and upgraded brakes. The second stage kicks in a remapped ECU and cat-back exhaust, while the Scat Package 3 for the Dart gives you even bigger brakes, an adjustable suspension and sway bars front and rear.

Rare Dodge Shelby Dakota is a very '80s sport truck

Fri, Jun 3 2016

The late-great Carroll Shelby built an incredibly successful career of making all sorts of cars faster, more often than not, with a bigger or more potent engine under the hood. The icons are well known—legends like the Shelby Cobra, GT350 Mustang, and the big GT500. But by the 1980s, Shelby was plying his trade over at Chrysler, at the behest of chairman Lee Iacocca, churning out special editions like the Dodge Shelby Charger, zippy CSX, rorty GLHS, and this—the 1989 Shelby Dakota muscle truck. 1,500 of these racy pickups were built for just one year and a whole two-and-a-half decades later they still turn heads. This one especially. The spotless pickup recently turned up for sale online , and its odometer reads a claimed 25,307 miles. So what makes these rarified work trucks special? As with most Shelbys, it starts under the hood. Up until 1989, the standard Dodge Dakota pickups were offered in only four-cylinder and V6 variants. But Dodge (and Shelby) wanted more, so the larger 5.2-liter Magnum V8 from Dodge's full-size pickup was shoehorned into the midsize Dakota, albeit not effortlessly. To fit, Dodge had to swap the V8's belt-driven fan for an electric unit mounted in front of the radiator. That did the trick, as well as earned the V8 a few extra ponies, pushing the special Dakota up to 175 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. That performance may sound paltry by today's standards, but in 1989 it was seen as quite sporty, and netted a zero to 60 mph dash in 8.5 seconds. A four-speed automatic with lockup torque converter transmitted that power to the rear wheels. Additional Shelby performance goodies included a limited-slip differential, transmission cooler, along with a host of eye-catching body mods, including a unique air dam and bumpers, Shelby floor mats, monogramed seats and door panels, a "CS" steering wheel, 15-spoke hollow alloy wheels, and shouty body graphics. While the Shelby Dakota didn't return for 1990, its V8 legacy did continue, and in 1991 the 5.2-liter eight-cylinder became an option on new Dakotas. Of the 1,500 Shelby Dakota pickups built, 860 were dressed in red while a rarer 640 came adorned in Bright White. This '89 is said to be #245 of those white trucks, sold new to its original (and sole) owner in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, for $15,985 (the Shelby package cost $3,933 in its day). Currently, it's demanding bids north of $10,000 for its low-mileage originality. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.

2013 Dodge Dart GT

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

My younger brother bought a Dodge Dart earlier this summer. It's a basic SXT, in Maximum Steel Metallic, with the 2.0-liter engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and not a whole lot else. Unfortunately, at the time, the Dart was one of the few cars in the compact class I'd never driven. I didn't know a lot about it, and therefore, didn't have a lot to say when he bought it. I think the words "based on an Alfa," popped out when I first saw it.
As it turns out, he's grown quite fond of the dark gray sedan, so it was with some degree of enthusiasm that I paid him a visit in this bright-orange Dart GT. I was excited to see what it was about the Dart that he enjoyed so much, despite my tester featuring a different engine, transmission and a lot more tech. After a week with the car, though, I must say: I don't quite see what all the fuss is about.
