This is one hell of a truck but I'm moving and just don't need it any more where I'm going.  This is a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab with the 5.7L HEMI Magnum engine. It's a BEAST and as you can tell from the photos, it is in EXCELLENT condition.  The new tires have barely 5000 miles on them.  The bed is also lined with the HEMI Rough Guard liner.   I am also including the Extang bed cover for free as well a tow hitch and tow ball.  This truck has only had one owner (yours truly), has always been kept in a garage, has had no pets in it, and has never had any smoking in it (or near it).  It has extremely low miles considering it is a 2004.

Here are the basics:
  • Condition: Used
  • Mileage: 88,508 (I still use it to drive around so mileage may vary slightly)
  • Transmission: Automatic
  • Engine: 5.7L V8 HEMI Magnum - Gasoline
  • Drivetrain: RWD
  • Exterior Color: Black
  • Interior Color: Black - cloth
  • Year: 2004
  • Make: Dodge
  • Model: Ram 1500
  • VIN: 1D7HA18D84S759816

Other info:
  • One owner, no pets and non-smoker - this vehicle is clean
  • Air Conditioning

Power Equipment
  • Power Steering
  • Power Windows
  • Power Locks
  • Power Mirrors

Safety Features
  • Keyless Entry
  • Anti-lock brakes
  • Driver and Passenger Airbags

Entertainment system
  • Factory System
  • AM/FM radio
  • CD player

This vehicle has been constantly maintained with regular oil checks etc.

As far as cosmetic issues, there are some minor body dings, I tried to take close up photos where the cosmetic damage was.  One is a minor ding in the rear right bumper from backing up into a small post, one on the right side of the body along the bed when a right turn got too close to a wall bumper, and then minor scratches on the roof from a low clearance bumper.  Other than that, any other scratches or minor body damage is barely visible (check out the photos!!). If you would like any other photos please do not hesitate to ask. Mechanically this truck is in perfect shape and still drives like the day I drove it off the lot.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.  The vehicle is located at 20th and N st NW in Washington DC.  This vehicle is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS.  As with any used car sale I would recommend you come and check out the vehicle for yourself!  You can pay by cash, cashiers check, personal check (as long as the check clears first) PayPal or wire transfer.  All non-paying bidders will be held liable for the $500 re-listing fee.  $500 Deposit is required within 24hrs of the auction ending and full payment is due within 7 days of the auction ending.

Any questions please do not hesitate to shoot me a message and if you would like any other photos of anything on this truck, let me know!

Jay Leno gets his denim mitts on Dodge's new Challenger Hellcat

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is definitely the performance car of the moment. The fact that in the near future, people will be able to buy a 707-horsepower muscle machine straight from a major automaker for $59,995 and with a factory warranty almost seems absurd. We drove it recently and found the Hellcat to be just as much of a beast as its numbers would suggest. Now, it's a certain comedian's turn behind the wheel in the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage.
This week's guest is Dodge President and CEO Tim Kuniskis, and he's there to drop all sorts of interesting factoids about the Hellcat. For example, its Pirelli P Zero tires retail at around $300 each, he says. That makes its smoky burnouts a rather expensive proposition. Kuniskis, who recently hinted at a mystery Woodward Dream Cruise debut, also talks about the genesis of the 2015 SRT project with a goal to get over some of the standard Challenger's weight and size disadvantages. The fix is a supercharged V8, massive brakes and other goodies to smooth over the platform's more glaring shortcomings.
Leno appears to get a big kick out of the Hellcat. However, he can't seem to stop bringing up his desire to drive one with a six-speed manual. They obviously exist, but Kuniskis has an eight-speed automatic for the retired Tonight Show host to try out. Of course, as with any Hellcat video, there has to be at least one burnout. Despite the expensive tires, it seems like enthusiast's law at this point - and dear ol' Jay wouldn't want to break any rules, would he?

Chrysler's next-gen minivans will get more expensive

Mon, Feb 2 2015

Chrysler introduced the value-oriented Great American Package on the base model Chrysler 300 in 2005. That morphed into the American Value Package available as an option on the Dodge Grand Caravan in 2012, which made it the lowest-priced minivan in the country, now with an MSRP of $21,395. Automotive News reports that Chrysler is going to kill the value package when the new Town & Country arrives for 2017, because the new platform and technology of the coming minivan make it "a difficult price point to get to." AN says the next-generation haulers will come in around $26,000 and can go beyond $45,000 with options; clicking every "Add" button we could find on the Town & Country build page, we couldn't get past $43,000 for today's model. That entry pricing in 2017 would eliminate the first three trims on the Dodge option, the American Value Package, the SE that starts at $24,195, and the SE Plus that starts at $24,995. This makes us think the next-generation haulers will take a sizable step upscale in terms of feel, content, and trim, a la the Chrysler 200. In this writer's opinion, if they do as good a job as they've been doing recently, the extra money will be worth it. There have been spy shots and a lot of rumors about it, like the Caravan minivan going away and becoming a crossover, but we'll see it revealed at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board

Wed, Apr 3 2019

Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.
