Dodge Power Wagon Closed Cab Wc12 on 2040-cars
Macon, Georgia, United States
You are bidding on a 1941 Dodge WC12 4x4 1/2 ton pickup truck build by Dodge for the US Military. This is an original closed cab truck for the military and not a civilian conversion. It has all the correct data plates still in the cab. This truck came out of the Furnace Creek Ranch in California after it was purchased from surplus at the end of the war. The truck has had a sun roof put in it at one time. The engine runs great with good oil pressure. ( I can forward you a video of it running if you want to see it run ) The starter has been replaced with a key and solenoid starter for ease of starting. It also has had power brakes put on the truck, but are soft. I have not had time to mess with them much. I have only driven the truck around my shop. The head was taken off to check things out and the engine looks good with new head gasket kit installed. The engine looks to be a replacement engine from the Government (see picture of engine numbers) and has a date of 44 on the block. The fenders and bed have the typical cracks in them, but in good condition otherwise. Would be an easy restoration. It is missing the passenger side inner front side panel that shields the engine. It does have three combat rims and four regular rims. Please ask any questions you may have. Thanks for looking. ***Please Note*** Buyer is 100% responsible for any and all shipping costs. I can and will assist in loading and I do have a loading ramp. ***Please Note*** Buyer to pay a $250.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction end and remaining balance is due no more than 7 days after auction ends. Buyer can pay the remaining balance with cash, certified cashiers check, personal check, bank transfer (buyer responsible for any bank transfer fee's) or Pay-Pal (Pay-Pal fee's apply) HOWEVER, if you pay the remaining balance using Pay-Pal there is a 3.5% fee that will be added to the remaining balance only. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you disagree with this, please pay the remaining balance using a different method. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to ask. *** ***Please Note*** I reserve the right to end the auction early as truck is for sale locallyOn Mar-27-15 at 20:41:29 PDT, seller added the following information: *** Please Note*** Today March 27th while under the truck taking pictures of the underneath of the cab for someone I noticed that the frame has been cracked and welded up just behind the cab. The truck does not sag in the middle when looking at it from the side and looks very straight and good from underneath the truck. I just want every one to know. Sorry about this, it was and is not my intention to mislead any one. I always try to describe a vehicle the best I can but some times I do miss something. I have not noticed it until now. If you wish to retract your bid, I understand. If you are still interested, I can send you pictures.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Watch this Dodge Viper get clawed to death
Tue, 07 Jan 2014There's a scene in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, where Daniel Craig's Agent 007 is captured by villain Le Chiffre, played by Mads Mikkelsen. Le Chiffre tortures Bond in a scene that is rather difficult to watch (especially for blokes) and impossible to describe on these digital pages (Google at your own risk). This video is the automotive equivalent of the Casino Royale torture scene.
It shows a Dodge Viper - a late, first-generation GTS judging by the center-exit exhausts - getting assaulted by a giant piece of heavy equipment. The large claw shows no mercy on the V10-powered sports car, rending its muscular curves into pieces and then running it over, just for good measure. It's a painful video to watch (and hear!), made worse because we don't know what the Viper did to deserve such a fate. About a third of the way through the video, the cameraman indicates that the man with the claw is a new operator from Chrysler, and it appears there may be some fire damage, but beyond that, we don't have much to go on.
Scroll down for the video but be warned, it isn't for the faint of heart.
Lackluster Dodge Dart sales trigger layoffs
Thu, 06 Mar 2014Hidden amidst the overall very positive sales figures that Chrysler released earlier this week were a few disappointments, the biggest of which may be the Dodge Dart. While Dodge sales in general were down 11 percent from a year ago, the Dart's poor figures stood out from the rest - with 4,888 units sold, the Dart was down 37 percent in February.
It comes as little surprise, then, that the automaker has announced layoffs at its assembly plant in Belvidere, IL. According to The Daily Herald, Dodge will temporarily lay off 325 workers "to balance vehicle supply with current sales demand." Put more simply, there are more Darts than buyers at the moment...
We don't think the Dodge Dart is a bad car, but it's playing in a market that offers a few standout sellers, like the Chevy Cruze, Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. According to AutoPacific analyst Dave Sullivan, as quoted by The Daily Herald, "great incentives on the Dodge Avenger" are also partly to blame for the Dart's poor showing.
