Dodge Power Wagon Closed Cab Wc12 on 2040-cars

You are bidding on a 1941 Dodge WC12 4x4 1/2 ton pickup truck build by Dodge for the US Military. This is an original closed cab truck for the military and not a civilian conversion. It has all the correct data plates still in the cab. This truck came out of the Furnace Creek Ranch in California after it was purchased from surplus at the end of the war. The truck has had a sun roof put in it at one time. The engine runs great with good oil pressure. ( I can forward you a video of it running if you want to see it run ) The starter has been replaced with a key and solenoid starter for ease of starting. It also has had power brakes put on the truck, but are soft. I have not had time to mess with them much. I have only driven the truck around my shop. The head was taken off to check things out and the engine looks good with new head gasket kit installed. The engine looks to be a replacement engine from the Government (see picture of engine numbers) and has a date of 44 on the block. The fenders and bed have the typical cracks in them, but in good condition otherwise. Would be an easy restoration. It is missing the passenger side inner front side panel that shields the engine. Watch Jay Leno drive an ex-highway patrol '61 Dodge Polara
Tue, May 17 2016The latest vehicle to swing by Jay Leno's Garage is a 1961 Dodge Polara. This one was used by the California Highway Patrol half a century ago, ordered specially by the state police instead of the Darts that were usually used by law-enforcement. After sitting out in the sun for a few decades, it recently underwent a comprehensive, ground-up restoration by the historians and craftsmen at the Automobile Club of Southern California. As you can see for yourself, the result of the restoration is really quite stunning. The ACSC apparently spared no expense, bringing the 413-cubic-inch V8 back up to working order, along with the emergency lighting, radio, certified speedometer... the works. In the process they even found the engine cranked out more than the factory quote of 325 horsepower, recording 332 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. The Polara CHP cruiser hadn't even been back out on the freeway since the restoration was finished. But after getting the full run-down from the guys responsible for its resuscitation, Jay wasted little time in bringing it back to its natural habitat.
2013 Dodge Durango R/T
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Not too long ago, Chevrolet got itself into some trouble by throwing the SS badge on just about everything it produced, so I've always been a little hesitant about the seemingly excessive use of the R/T nameplate on Dodge vehicles. For the 2013 model year, every model in Dodge's lineup has an R/T trim level from Dart all the way up to the Durango. Although the R/T name used to signified models made for road and track, I doubt anyone would be delusional enough to assume the Durango - and some of the other models wearing this badge - are suited for any sort of track duty.
Still, when this 2013 Dodge Durango R/T rolled up for me to drive for the week, I couldn't help but take in its big, mean and imposing stance. Sure, if I had my choice of buying any of the Dodge R/T products, the Charger and Challenger would be my top picks for sure, but it's easy to say that the Durango would be a close third - far above the R/T versions of the Avenger, Journey and Grand Caravan.

Dodge Journey recalled for freezing fluid lines
Sun, May 8 2016The Basics: FCA is recalling 10,944 examples of the 2009-16 Dodge Journey - specifically those equipped with the optional engine block heaters and located in extremely cold climates. The Problem: Power steering fluid lines may leak when starting the engine in extremely cold weather, which would increase the amount of effort required to steer the vehicle. Injuries/Deaths: FCA reports that it is "unaware of any related injuries or accidents." The fix: The manufacturer is working on expediting replacement parts to resolve the issue in those vehicles potentially affected. If you own one: Expect to hear from the manufacturer soon to arrange service. Your chances of being affected are higher if you live in Canada, where a far greater number – estimated at 187,436 – of Journeys may be affected.
