Please do not bid if you are looking for a show truck. This truck has cosmetic blemishes, scratches, and dents. It has a spray on bed liner on the hood, grill and front fenders. There is minor body damage to front left fender, door, and passenger side bottom of door. Most of these dents and scratches have come from off roading. This truck is very strong and sound mechanically with no leaks or drips. It does not use oil and averages 10.5 to 13 mpg. It is geared for pulling and climbing. The truck will perform whatever task you need it to, from pulling tractor trailers, taking you to your favorite Off Road park or for getting groceries. This is a real man's truck, made for work. From a parts-and-pieces standpoint, it's an understatement to call this particular factory setup simply "heavy duty." They could've just as easily called it the Christmas Edition Ram: It has just about everything a truck guy could put on his wish list. To begin, the differentials run 4.56:1 gears--an exclusive ratio offered only for the Power Wagon--excellent for strong pulling power as well as for creeping at slower speeds, and the axle shafts have been beefed up as well, sporting the 1 Ton Axle shafts in the Ram 3500. Inside, front and rear heavy-duty axles are electronically controlled, manually selectable locking differentials. Operated from a switch on the dash, the rear diff lock can act like a limited-slip when not engaged (for everyday driving/towing), while the front diff lock remains completely open when not in use. The suspension system remains similar to previous 4x4 models; however, unique springs give the Power Wagon two inches of lift and a more supple on- and off-road ride due to softer spring rates. Longer, larger, and more sophisticated high-pressure Bilstein monotube shocks are a solid upgrade over the general-purpose twin-tube shocks they replace. At the wheels, all Power Wagon Rams use 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. In addition, Dodge has included a specially designed integrated brace mount behind the front bumper (and tied to both framerails) to support the winch.

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head
Fri, Jan 30 2015"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
