1986 Dodge Ram on 2040-cars
Reading, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale is a 1986 Dodge Ram. 318 Automatic 4 Wheel Drive. Nice solid 35 inch mud terrain tires. Clear title in hand. This truck will make a great work truck, or off road fun. The odometer reads 76,000, I was told this was original as it was a farm truck, but I can not validate that, title shows exempt. Truck has headers, no cats, and flowmasters. IT IS VERY LOUD!! This is clearly no show piece I bought it for yard work and it is a tough solid dependable truck. I just recently put $1500 in the cooling system, new intake gaskets, new hoses, new radiator, and some other stuff. It is not inspected but I had an inspection done on it about 6 months ago...besides the exhaust it should pass. It would need cats to pass, right now it is welded straight pipe so I just drive it as is. I would guess brakes are in the future at some point, with the big tires they feel a little soft.
Now as mentioned this is a work truck, there is a lot of little things wrong with this truck. There was a patch done on the bed, but appears to have been done well, just not finished perfectly. It appears to have been spray painted. 4 Wheel drive lock is "custom", but works. There is an exhaust leak around the header. Driver door lock does not match and I do not have the key for it. CD player not properly mounted, and speakers don't always work. Everything wrong with this truck is superficial. It is mechanically sound, and a blast to drive. I have tried to give detail, but please email any questions. Truck is outside of Reading Pa and can be inspected prior to auction end. Item is also listed locally so if sold I will remove auction. This is a cash deal only. Title will be transferred immediately. Key Words: Rat Rod, Mudder, Off Road, Monster Truck, Lifted, |

Dodge recalling 2k SRT Hellcat Challengers and Chargers for fuel leak
Tue, Mar 3 2015Bad news for fans of the obscene output of the Dodge Hellcat twins, as FCA has announced a voluntary recall of both 707-horsepower variants of the 2015-model-year Charger sedan and Challenger coupe. According to FCA, a total of 2,211 cars are being recalled after a dealer discovered a "possible fuel leak" during a pre-delivery inspection. Despite getting cleared by suppliers, FCA claims its engineers found "improperly installed" hose seals. Owners of affected vehicles will receive notification and be asked to report in for repairs. Of the vehicles affected, the overwhelming majority, 2,012, were sold in the US market. The remainder were sold in Canada (148), Mexico (30) and just 21 outside of North America. Scroll down for the official release from FCA. 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T Redline revs into Chicago
Fri, 01 Feb 2013When Dodge released the Challenger Rallye Redline last year, it brought a new dimension of styling to the car's classic muscle car lines, but it was only available in V6 form lacking the oomph to back up its sinister appearance. To remedy that situation, Dodge is unveiling the Challenger R/T Redline, powered by a Hemi V8 engine, at the Chicago Auto Show.
Other than the extra cylinders, most of the R/T's Redline package carries over from the Rallye model including the custom-look 20-inch black chrome wheels with red paint accents, but the R/T version of the package gets more of a retro look to the side stripes with graphite graphics featuring Redline lettering. Cars equipped with the six-speed manual transmission will get a performance-tuned, low-restriction exhaust allowing the engine to produce 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque; cars with the five-speed auto are rated at 372 hp and 400 lb-ft, but they do offer a bright chrome Mopar t-handle shifter and steering wheel paddle shifters.
The R/T Redline Group is offered only on cars painted in Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Bright White and Pitch Black, and it adds just $1,995 to the MSRP of the Challenger R/T (starting at $31,990) and the Challenger R/T Plus (starting at $33,990), which adds features like Nappa leather and Boston Acoustics speakers.
Gauging reaction to the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit on Detroit highways
Sat, Feb 7 2015Steven Ewing and I kind of pretended to be cops a few weeks ago. No, not in the illegal way; we just took turns driving the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit around Detroit and its suburbs, learning invaluable life lessons along the way. A lot of those lessons came in the form of weird reactions from other drivers. Steve peeved his neighbors by surprising them in the parking lot, I can damn close to sitting in jail next to a murderer and we both caught our fair share of evil-eyed glances. One of my very first observations was a pronounced "bubble effect" when driving in traffic on the highway. Attempting to recreate the effect for the video camera, I grabbed Senior Producer Chris McGraw and we went for a ride in the name of pseudo psychology. The results weren't exactly as we'd predicted, but we had fun all the same. Get one more dose of your cop car fix, above.
