This 1977 Dodge Power Wagon Shortbox 4 X 4 may very well be one of the lowest mileage truck of it's kind in the world.  This is a Canadian truck with correct 17,564 kms which equals 10,913 actual miles.  This is a one owner original truck that was purchased August 17, 1977 by a lady (yes, that is correct).  The original owner is a lady.  Hats off to her and her husband for the care of this truck for 36 years.  The truck has never been driven in Winter, Mud or Gravel.  The undercarriage is absolutely clean with no rust.  There is no rust period on this truck.  Previous owner had sprayed most of the unprotected undercarriage parts with a black paint of some sort which is starting to flake off in areas.  Metal is like new underneath.  Fender wells were undercoated but some parts were missed and you can still see the original green paint.  The engine bay is all original and all hoses and belts appear to be factory original.  Factory tags and markings are present throughout the truck.  The 400 big block (from what I have been told) is quite a rare option.  Starts and runs as it should and sounds great with the dual red bottle exhaust.  There are no leaks throughout the entire powertrain.    I have a number of very low mileage Pontiac Trans Ams and they all leak oil.  So, I guess that it may be true that Dodge had a bullet proof powertrain.  Battery tie down clamp is missing.  All glass is factory original with no scratches or chips.  Interior is 100% original there is one minor scratch on the driver's seat, other than that the interior is perfect.  Dash and all plastic components have no cracks or visual damage.  Passenger side window felt either slid down half way or is broken, I am not sure.   Exterior did receive a complete repaint from the dealer at Thomas Plymouth Chrysler approx. 5 days after the original owner took delivery, due to very poor factory paint.  In 1977 painting was done by people not automation, so it was not uncommon for very poor and light factory paint.  There are a few very minor paint chips but the paint shines and presents extremely well.  All steel panels are original.  The original back bumper may have been replaced with the existing chrome one.  I am not sure if the truck came with the chrome bumper or not.  The chrome on the truck is extremely nice, there are a few very minor scratches on the front grill.  From what I can tell all accessories on the truck are period correct and they are in excellent condition.  The tires are dated 1978 and 1979, the tread is still as per new but they are showing signs of dry rot on the inside.  The rims are 15x10 American Racing with no road rash or damage, the tires do rub a bit if you turn too sharp.  The original spare white spoke rim and tire have never been used.  The date code stamping and other factory codes are still on the backside of the rim.  This is a true unrestored survivor.  I have not registered the truck so the buyer will be the second registered owner.

The Story on the Truck.  I was on a search in Ont. Canada for low mileage Trans Ams as this what I collect.  My wife decided she would like to stay in a nice little tourist town by the lake for the night.  And, believe it or not, this truck was parked not in a barn, but in the original owner's driveway with a For Sale Sign on.  Stopped by next morning and had a long discussion with the lady that owned the truck - this truck was her baby.  I purchased the truck without hesitation just because it was so cool.   Heather and her husband went on one 5,000 mile trip with the truck and all other miles were put on locally to car shows and back.  1997 appraisal showed truck had 17,000 kms on at that time.  This is a very nice truck and I really think you will not be disappointed.  If there is any pictures that you require - let me know.   I think have disclosed all I know about the truck, you can call me at 780-706-6037 anytime but Saturday as I am a Seventh Day Adventist and observe the Sabbath.  I will try to answer all your questions.  I can possibly assist bringing truck to Canada/USA Border.  Thanks!

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. Camaro driver clocked at 171 miles per hour

Wed, Apr 13 2016

Chevy's 2016 Camaro SS is a fantastic piece of automotive engineering. It is also, apparently, very, very fast. This latter fact was perfectly illustrated when, on April 8, a Camaro SS driver was nailed in Two Harbors, Minnesota for doing 171 mph. According to WFAA, the unnamed speed demon was flying down Highway 61 near Two Harbors when Hermantown, MN Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden clocked him at an eye-watering 171 mph. He then recorded the speeder at 168 and 141. At the time, Deputy Chief Padden was working with Minnesota State Patrol on an anti-DWI program called "Toward Zero Deaths". Padden, who was interviewed by the Duluth News Tribune, said he was surprised at the driver's sheer speed. "When he went by me, it was a blur," Padden told the News. "You get used to seeing people going 65 or 70 and what that looks like. But I've never seen anything like this. It's like a rocket on wheels." Fadden chased the Camaro down eventually, but it took some doing. To catch the Camaro, he pushed his Dodge Charger Pursuit to 135 mph just to get into range so the Camaro could see his emergency lights. The speeding driver was ticketed for careless driving, but may lose his license due to a Minnesota law that gives courts the option of revoking licenses for drivers caught doing more than 100 mph. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat's 707 storming horses can be yours for $60k

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

We love a good deal on high performance. It's what traditionally makes muscle cars so appealing - you get lots of speed, for not a lot of money. For 2015, Dodge has taken this to its logical extreme, offering its new 707-horsepower, supercharged, V8-powered Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat for just $59,900. For those wondering, that works out to just about $85 per horsepower, which when compared with a typical budget performance car, like the $24,995, 210-hp Volkswagen GTI ($119 per hp), demonstrates the Hellcat's astonishing value.
The information was revealed by a photo (click on the inset image to expand) taken at this week's Portland launch event (our man Seyth Miersma is just now on the ground and will have a full report on the madness that is the Hellcat soon) for the entire 2015 Challenger range, and reveals the Hellcat's price alongside its high-powered competitors from Ford and Chevrolet.
The discontinued 662-hp Mustang GT500 started at $56,000, while the 580-hp Camaro ZL1 starts off at $58K. Indeed, the only muscle car that outprices the Hellcat is the track-focused Camaro Z/28, a car that we're guessing could still wallop the Hellcat on the right piece of track, despite being down over 200 hp.
