1947 Dodge Power Wagon WDX

This is a 1947 Dodge Power Wagon WDX with a 230c.i. (3.8L) I-6 motor and a 4-speed manual transmission.  The truck overall is in great shape and runs, drives, and stops as it should.  The motor has been refreshed and runs great. Generator and starter have been rebuilt. The transmission has been gone through and new bearings have been installed. The axles have been completely rebuilt. The brakes and brake lines have been completely redone. Fuel line has been replaced. The truck has been completely rewired with a Vintage Wiring of Maine Harness. The bed was redone with new quarter sawn oak with Mar-K S.S. bed strips (originals will come with sale).

The truck came from out west and virtually had no rust when I got it.  The cab was removed and completely media blasted and repainted. Glass is all new. Winch is in complete working order. Era correct front arrow directionals and modified reproduction tail lights that are LED ( original tail light will be included in purchase ).   The combat rims and Michelin XL's come with the truck, along with the original Budd rims and NDT's.

Things that need attention: Window regulators need adjusting, window cranks and door handle trims.  Need wiper blades and arms. (wiper motors were rebuilt by Ficken).  Heater needs to be connected; I have all the duct pieces which will be included in sale.  All the gauges work, just need cleaning.  Speedometer needs new cable.  Lots of parts will come with sale: transmission, PTO's, brake and axle parts, etc.

The truck is being sold in "AS IS Condition" and buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements.

Thanks for looking and good luck!!

We cruised Woodward in the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/video]

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

We were definitely rock stars at the 20th edition of the Dream Cruise.
The yell came from somewhere in the crowd: "Hey Hellcat, push it!" We obliged with a jab of the throttle, and the 707 horses of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat roared to life. It went on like this. All weekend. It's one thing to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise, it's quite another to star in it.

Dodge Grand Caravan to live in fleets through 2017

Mon, Jun 22 2015

After a hard-working career of hauling around families for decades, the Dodge Grand Caravan name was set to retire in 2016 under FCA's five-year plan for the US. The decision would have put all of the automaker's focus behind the next-generation Chrysler Town & Country, but that original strategy might have changed. Now, Dodge's minivan may have to work just a few more years before it can finally shuffle off. There are set to be 2016 and 2017 model year examples of the current Grand Caravan, according to an internal FCA production document obtained by Automotive News. This report suggests no changes in the minivan between those two years, and there's no mention of the company's intentions deeper into the future. "While we've announced the Grand Caravan will eventually be the minivan that goes away, we're not going into more detail at this time," a Dodge spokesperson said to AN. For the next Town & Country, production would start in Windsor, Ontario, in late February 2016. This document also suggests a brief run of 2016 Chrysler minivans based on the current model from August 2015 until February 2016. Automotive News speculates that the reprieve for the Grand Caravan could allow that model to focus on fleets and the Canadian market while the new Town and Country gets up and running. The latest generation T&C will reportedly debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and will possibly carry a higher price to befit a vehicle with a more modern platform and improved tech.

These Canadians somehow forgot how to drive in snow

Tue, Dec 6 2016

Montreal drivers experienced a slow-motion pileup on their streets this weeks thanks to the first snow fall of the season. According to the CBC, slippery conditions caused a small pileup involving cars, buses and even a street clearing vehicle. Onlookers in neighboring office buildings watched as vehicle after vehicle slid down Cote du Beaver Hall and crashed into the scrum of waiting cars. First there was a city bus, then a white Ford F-150 work truck loaded down with ladders, then another city bus came along and sandwiched the poor F-150. A Montreal Police Charger then came down the hill backwards, hit the bus in a slow, sad crash before it was crashed into by an out of control plow truck. Since its posting yesterday, the video of the crash has gone viral. Various other vehicles–a green-topped Scion delivery truck and a couple workaday sedans–were lucky enough to escape the pileup, but still suffered through a white-knuckled slippery descent down the hill. Colin Creado, who works nearby the crash site, told the CBC although it was pretty slippery, he was surprised at all the carnage since the storm was forecast well in advance. "You would have thought ... they would have salted the area or at least cordoned it off, because that road is pretty steep," he told the station.
