1940 Dodge Military 4x4 Power Wagon on 2040-cars
Norwood, Colorado, United States
1940 Dodge military odometer: 41000 4 speed manual transmission I'm selling this for a friend that doesn't do Ebay. 1/1/2014 evening update- No windshield wipers, gas gage not working. It's got a tilting windshield, heater works and it has an under-dash volt meter. Also I see small cracks on the outside walls of the 7.50-16 tires. I noticed that the flywheel housing and the dipstick are missing. I can check the oil with the dipstick of the same motor I have in another truck. Also the flat glass windshield is cracked and some paint is peeling. Although it is listed as a Power Wagon (PW) I know that this isn't technically a PW, it's more like the Father of the Power Wagon, PW was the closest choice I was given by Ebay. 4 Wheel Drive works good. Flathead 6 cylinder and 4 speed manual transmission. 12V Electrical upgrade. Good rust-free original truck that was in dry Western Colo. most of it's life. Rumored to be a wrecker many years back. Was restored in about 2005 by a meticulous mechanic who did a good job. Has non-dumping military dump bed that wasn't original to the truck. Very good tires. Awesome running boards. Also on Western Colorado Craigslist. Opening price is less than the money spent on it. You can save time and money getting this one over starting from scratch. Contact me at 970-327-4185, my name is David, land line phone, no texts. |

2015 Ford Mustang vs. Camaro and Challenger [w/poll]
Thu, 17 Jul 2014The horsepower wars are tightening among the Detroit Three, as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger are getting bigger, more powerful, and yes, more fuel efficient.
That came into sharper focus this week as more information was revealed about the most insane Challenger ever - the 707-horsepower Hellcat - followed quickly by Ford's in-depth showcase of the 2015 Mustang in Dearborn.
It's shaping up to be a golden age for enthusiasts, and what's under the hood is becoming more important than ever.
Cars.com runs 11-second quarter with Dodge Charger Hellcat
Mon, Jun 1 2015The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and its Challenger sibling are two of the heroes of the modern performance world. With a headline-grabbing 707 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, their output even shames many supercars. But how quick can one really cover a quarter mile? Cars.com recently decided to find out by taking a Charger Hellcat to the drag strip to see if the sedan lived up to Dodge's 11-second claims. The results were quite impressive. After 13 quarter-mile runs of adjusting variables like the tire pressures and the car's various electronic aids, the Charger Hellcat managed a pass in 11.03 seconds at 126.61 mph – the pinnacle result of the day. This car was mechanically stock and wore the optional Pirelli P Zero tires. According to Cars.com, other quick sprints reached 11.09 seconds and 11.1 seconds, which even beat the site's 11.41-second best from a Challenger Hellcat last year. Getting the Hellcat's prodigious power down without losing traction was a challenge, even on the summer tires. Cars.com thought it had a run that could have dropped below 11 seconds, but then the wheels spun. Using the factory-recommended pressures, the Charger Hellcat was no still slouch with an 11.27-second time recorded, but taking things down to 25 psi proved the quickest at the strip. We already knew that the Charger Hellcat was a wonderful vehicle for eating up huge gulps of asphalt at high speeds and could verify its 204-mile-per-hour top speed (quite a bit faster, incidentally, than the Ferrari California T's 196 mph top-speed). Apparently, the 11-second quarter-mile claim is just as accurate. Also, for any curious owners, the Cars.com story divulges many of the tweaks required to reach this seriously quick time.
