1984 Dodge W 100 4 x 4 Survivor

Rare find! Unrestored Dodge W - 100 4x4 pick-up

This machine was loved by its owner for decades, tragedy struck and I am now responsible for selling this fine piece of American machinery. This truck has "great bones" and is very solid despite its appearance. This truck starts and runs but it cannot be driven because there is a problem with the (new process 40) manual transmission shifting mechanism. The vehicle could use a good amount of body work and has been involved in a small front end collision.

The Good:
  • original 137457 miles with extremely clean title, 2 owners
  • all original running gear and incredibly smooth, clean running 318 engine with factory 2 barrel carburetor
  • solid frame, good candidate for restoration
  • ladder rack and stainless steel toolbox
  • Sony CD player
  • lots of time and money invested into this truck recently replaced starter, wiring, battery, 4 brake lines and 2 fuel lines
The Bad:
  • was in a fender bender not to long ago, damaged grill, lighting, hood, fender and bumper
  • the manual transmission shift handle is off and needs repair or replacement. I was told by the previous owner a small bolt of some sort has fallen down into the gearbox
  • the body needs some work, there are dents and rust holes all up and down the sheetmetal
  • a mini bungee cord helps operate the turn signals
Overall the truck just needs the shifter replaced, it looks to me like the cup is worn out and whatever kept that in place may need attention. I can't locate the part inside transmission that lines up with the bottom of the shift handle so something else may have fallen down inside of the transmission. It's possible the bottom of the shifter broke off inside the transmission and that's why parts aren't lining up. This appears to be a common gearbox assembly so hopefully getting parts (or an entire replacement if needed) shouldn't be to hard for someone that knows about these older Dodges. This truck has a lot of potential and would make a great hunting or mud truck even a good restoration project.

Deposit of $500 is due whithin 48 hours of auction closing, remainder is due whithin 5 business days of auction ending. Price negotiations will not take place after auction under any condition!

Chrysler earns $1.7B in 2012, revises product plans for US

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

Hot on the heels of Ford's earnings announcement for the year that was, Chrysler today reported a 2012 net income of $1.7 billion, up substantially from the comparatively minuscule $183 million profit earned in 2011 when it repaid its US government loans.
Chrysler's good year ended with an excellent fourth quarter that saw net income rise 68 percent from $225 million in 2011 to $378 million. Where are all those extra earnings coming from? Market share, which Chrysler saw increase to 11.4% last year on sales of 1.65 million vehicles. In fact, the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker out-paced the industry's market growth of 13 percent last year with sales up 21 percent for the year.
The company also revealed an updated product plan for its Chrysler Group and Fiat brands that looks all the way out to 2016. It's an updated version of the plan introduced in 2009 shortly after Fiat took control of the American automaker, and includes such new additions as an Alfa Romeo model, likely the 4C, to be introduced in the US this year, as well five more Alfa models by 2016. Likewise, Fiat will be growing by an additional seven models in the coming few years.

Dodge Grand Caravan to live in fleets through 2017

Mon, Jun 22 2015

After a hard-working career of hauling around families for decades, the Dodge Grand Caravan name was set to retire in 2016 under FCA's five-year plan for the US. The decision would have put all of the automaker's focus behind the next-generation Chrysler Town & Country, but that original strategy might have changed. Now, Dodge's minivan may have to work just a few more years before it can finally shuffle off. There are set to be 2016 and 2017 model year examples of the current Grand Caravan, according to an internal FCA production document obtained by Automotive News. This report suggests no changes in the minivan between those two years, and there's no mention of the company's intentions deeper into the future. "While we've announced the Grand Caravan will eventually be the minivan that goes away, we're not going into more detail at this time," a Dodge spokesperson said to AN. For the next Town & Country, production would start in Windsor, Ontario, in late February 2016. This document also suggests a brief run of 2016 Chrysler minivans based on the current model from August 2015 until February 2016. Automotive News speculates that the reprieve for the Grand Caravan could allow that model to focus on fleets and the Canadian market while the new Town and Country gets up and running. The latest generation T&C will reportedly debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and will possibly carry a higher price to befit a vehicle with a more modern platform and improved tech.

Dodge celebrates centennial with Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

In 1914, the Dodge brothers went from being a parts supplier to a full-scale automaker, and to celebrate the centennial of this milestone, Dodge will offer special editions of the 2014 Charger and Challenger early next year. Both cars will be sold in limited numbers (although no specific number was given), and these cars will stand out thanks to unique touches like 20-inch wheels, 100th anniversary edition logos and the exclusive High Octane Red Pearl Coat paint job (shown above).
The 100th Anniversary Edition package, which runs $2,200 on the 2014 Charger and $2,500 on the 2014 Challenger, comes with red or black leather seats with a cloud print (for a denim-like look) and metal badges on the seatbacks that read "Dodge Est. 1914," while similar logos are also found on the wheel center caps and front fenders. The instrument gauges are unique to each car, with the Charger getting black gauges and the Challenger getting white gauges, and to enunciate the 100-year anniversary, both cars have red numerals on the speedometer for the 100-mile-per-hour mark.
Finishing off the 100th Anniversary Edition cars, which will be offered on V6 and R/T models, Dodge adds a flat-bottom steering wheel and embroidered floor mats as a part of the package. Scroll down for the full press release for these commemorative models.
