                                                               Yes it has a HEMI!

Selling for a friend, who bought this great truck for his business but will not be able to get to it for some time and is offering it to someone who can. This is a very unique truck that spent it's life up in Maine and was lightly used. It is listed as a C3-TA8192 model. The Hemi runs like a top and the 5 speed dual axle does as well. The truck has air brakes and a PTO also! Frame was stretched at one point and a beautiful job was done. There is very little rust showing, just the door bottoms that I can see. Otherwise it is a very solid truck ready to roll. The previous owner was driving it as is to car and truck shows in Maine this summer.

Obviously the truck needs restoration but can be used while doing the work. All mechanicals operate as they should, including brakes, lights etc. Truck is for sale locally so we reserve the right to end the auction early. Truck will be sold with a CT bill of Sale, since vehicles of this vintage have no titles. You can check with your state's DMV to see this is the case. I can do nothing about the fact there are no titles, so please do not ask. All questions will be promptly answered and if you like a phone conversation, send over a number and I will have my friend call you back.

If you have less than 10 POSITIVE feedbacks, please contact me PRIOR to bidding or I will be forced to cancel your bid. Too many unethical people out there ruining auctions, so sorry but that is the reality of it. Please be serious when bidding. Good luck bidding on this great vintage collector truck!

VIN is 84603754, GVW is 25,000 and naturally the truck is sold without a warranty due to the age.

Dodge gives 2015 Viper slight power increase, new GT model

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

With its troubling sales figures, the newly rechristened SRT Dodge Viper needs to come out swinging for 2015. To do that, Dodge has made a number of tweaks and changes that will hopefully carry the V10-powered sports car into more successful days.
First up for 2015 is a new GT model, which aims to marry the reasonable price of the base car with the adjustable suspension and trick stability control program of the GTS model. The GT also sports a cabin that's covered in Alcantara suede and Nappa leather as standard.
Also new for 2015 is the SRT TA 2.0 Special Edition, which expands on last year's Viper TA by adding new aerodynamic bits and bobs, including a larger rear wing, which ups downforce at 150 miles per hour from 278 pounds to 400 pounds.

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.

Dodge performance trio thrashed on Roadkill

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Of all the shows that Motor Trend does, Roadkill is probably the last one we'd pick to evaluate the latest performance automobiles. That's not a slight against David Freiburger or Mike Finnegan, who host the show: they're certified gear-heads and the go-to guys when it comes to hot rods, rat rods and anything grungier than it is shiny. But as exemplary as they are of Detroit muscle, the Charger Hellcat, Challenger Hellcat and Viper are also shiny new pieces of metal. Still, since it will now be sponsoring the show, someone at Dodge apparently thought it would be a good idea to hand Freiburger and Finnegan the keys to the company's top performance models. So to ring the best out of them, they solicited help from some of their colleagues at MT, gained access to a closed-down air strip, devised as many ways as they could to destroy the tires, and proceeded to set about doing exactly that. Watch the grin-inducing mayhem unfold in the half-hour clip above. Related Video:
