1990 Dodge Ram W-150 4 X 4 Standard Cab Pickup 2nd Owner on 2040-cars

1990 Dodge W-150 Power Ram
My late husband bought this truck from the original owner in 1994 and it has served us well for 20 years. We have hauled all sorts of cars, parts, and household items over the years with no trouble. Running gear The 318 V8 is strong and starts and runs every time. It has always had the oil changed with Rotella diesel oil. The oil has been changed in the past year. I will provide you with the remaining case of oil filters and 1 jug of Rotella for future changes. It is just barely starting to smoke on start up. It shifts perfectly and the 4WD shifts in and out easily. It has the optional OD button for disengaging the OD when climbing a steep hill or under load. The ring and pinion were replaced in the early 2000's when the original one locked up. It is the ONLY time the truck has ever failed us. The mileage on the truck is showing 177,000 as listed. The speedometer works perfectly, but the trip odometer stopped working about a year before he died and after he died the odometer stopped working. There is not much more than this on it as I have only driven it around town and in the last two years have only driven it about once a month for exercise purposes. The master cylinder and rear brakes were completely replaced last year. The emergency brake cable was also replaced as it appeared rusty. Body The truck was heavily undercoated when he got it from one of the name brand rustproof companies in business. That and the fact that it has always had a camper shell on it has protected it well all these years. It has started to show some rust starting. The driver's side rocker panel is the most obvious. I have priced one locally at less than $50. The floor was getting a little weak around the driver side seat mount so I had someone replace the floor with galvanized metal all over just to be sure it was all sound. I have not yet sprayed undercoating under it or anything inside the cab to cover it. There are very small spot starting to appear at the corners of the doors, but I believe they could be stopped now. The truck was always taken care of and kept washed and waxed. It was repainted in the late 1990's when it received a new bed, bed liner, camper shell, and outside lighted moonvisor (since stolen) after a hit and run driver hit the rear wheel and bed of the truck in the middle of the night. Over the last year before my husband's death and recently it did not receive it's normal polishing and is starting to show a little wear from that. I used the truck a lot after his death to move and consolidate and got it in some tight spots which I'm embarrassed to say caused some scratches along the side and a couple of dents which have been mostly pulled out. I have tried to show these details in the photos. I removed the camper shell for the first time ever to haul some mulch and items that needed loaded without a shell. The camper shell is one of the extended height shells that you can pretty much stand up in the back. All the fiberglass is good as are the windows. The screens could use replaced. The rear window broke off the hinges around 2000 and we used it with a stick before removing it. We bought a piano hinge to remount it, but never did. Everything comes with it and it will be mounted on the truck when you pick it up. The bedliner started getting caught in the tailgate section and has a warp as you see in the photos. It's only at the end and I've been told it could be heated and returned to its original shape. The front of the bed where it meets the cab has a slight bow after I was hauling some heavy engines and one slid forward when I had to hit the brakes due to an idiot driver. The weight pushed the front of the bed towards the cab. I haven't had it pulled back, but am confident that it can be done. The rear window is a sliding window and the camper shell also has a sliding window that matches up with it. A NOS grille also comes with the truck. It doesn't need a grille, but this was an extra part he had. It has aluminum diamond plate running boards that I believe are anchor brand. Tires and Wheels The tires are almost new. We bought 6 matching tires before he died. You will get the 2 extra tires as well as a spare wheel with the truck. The wheels are the American Racing brand. The hub covers are off and didn't get put on when the tires were put on, but do come with the truck. Interior This truck is pretty simple. It is the standard cab and has a bench seat. The driver's seat is worn, but the rest of the seat is in good condition. The dash is free of any cracks as is the glass. The instruments and controls are simple and all work except the odometer. The interior light, rear cargo light and radio work. The speakers need to be replaced and I have taken the old ones out. I have new ones in a box to go with the truck. It is just an AM/FM radio and gets it's computer testing through codes in the radio. It has an aftermarket console that will go with the truck. Behind the seat is a first aid kit, flare kit, emergency triangle and various road emergency items, and a step to use on the front tire to access the engine compartment. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer. I do not have to sell this truck, but think it's best since I really don't have the need for it any longer. I'd rather sell it now than wait until something happens to it. |

Dodge Challenger Hellcat drift video is pure horsepower porn
Fri, Mar 27 2015We could listen to the whining, snarling 6.2-liter Hemi V8 in the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats all day long. The noise just sounds like power that's being barely restrained and is everything about a muscle car that's right. The team at Pennzoil apparently understands that allure, too. The oil company has a new video where it lets the engine roar for over a minute, while a Challenger does some big, smoky drifts through an abandoned city. The whole stunt is edited together in a slickly produced way that looks fantastic. Although, the big finale might go a little too far and starts straining believability. Nonetheless, the Hellcat's wonderful noise is still the star of this show. Related Video:
2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat revealed [UPDATE]
Wed, 13 Aug 2014Almost immediately after we drove the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, we began wondering: what's next? Pumping 707 horsepower into the Challenger seemed so crazy - and so intoxicating - we just assumed that Dodge would try that trick again.
Rumors swirled about a Charger Hellcat. Frankly it makes even more sense than the Challenger version. The Charger is a bigger car, and Dodge has never been shy about dropping monster engines under its hood. Hell (cat), we've seen Charger mules running around town that appeared to be the super sedan.
And finally, it's here. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was revealed today at a preview event near Detroit, and it will be a centerpiece of the Chrysler display this weekend at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
FCA fibbed on sales according to internal report
Mon, Jul 25 2016Following last week's news that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly fudging sales figures, a new report in Automotive News says an internal investigation at FCA uncovered misreported sales. According to the AN story, 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles from various FCA brands were reported sold by dealers, but no customers existed for those cars. FCA sales chief Reid Bigland has already put a stop to the practice. One potential reason for the practice was to maintain the company's month-to-month sales increase streak, currently at 75 months. In April, FCA added a lengthy disclaimer to its sales announcements: "FCA US reported vehicle sales represent sales of its vehicles to retail and fleet customers, as well as limited deliveries of vehicles to its officers, directors, employees and retirees. Sales from dealers to customers are reported to FCA US by dealers as sales are made on an ongoing basis through a new vehicle delivery reporting system that then compiles the reported data as of the end of each month. "Sales through dealers do not necessarily correspond to reported revenues, which are based on the sale and delivery of vehicles to the dealers. In certain limited circumstances where sales are made directly by FCA US, such sales are reported through its management reporting system." FCA did not provide comment to Automotive News.
