1989 Dodge 4x4 W350 cab chassis, with custom flatbed. I bought and restored this truck from the ground up, using all original parts, NOS mopar, or american made replacements. I built this truck with the intention of doing mobile welding work. I could have went out and bought a newer truck for less money than I ended up in this one, but I wanted something unique and something that was still a truck. I never thought I'd be selling it, but things have changed, and I have too many vehicles to take care of. Trucks don't get much tougher than this, Dana 60 front, Dana 70 rear, throttle body injected 360ci motor, NV4500 5 speed, NP205 transfercase, 1410 u-joint rear shaft. This truck would be a good candidate for a late model hemi or cummins swap, that's the only thing that could make it any better. The truck was all original when I bought it, with about 119,000 miles on it. I took it down to the frame and rebuilt and repainted everything as I went back together. I replaced the original 16" wheels with 19.5" with new Bridgestone tires, I replaced the 727 automatic with a NV4500 5 speed from a 96 Dodge truck, I got rid of the knapheide work bed that was on it and built the custom flatbed that is on it now. The bed is set up to hold three welding cylinders, and hinges out of the way to make replacing them easier. Comes with the highway products tool box that cost $500 new by itself. The body was stripped to bare metal, paint is base coat clear coat. Axles were tore apart and rebuilt with new bearings and seals, I added a Dana Power-Lok posi in the rear, both axles still have their factory 4.56 gears. Engine was bored .040 over, crank reground, heads rebuilt with new valves and seats, new roller cam and lifters, double row timing chain, new bearings, oil pump, seals, gaskets, water pump, etc.. New SFI billet steel flywheel, new clutch and pressure plate, throw out bearing, new clutch hydraulics. Transmission was taken apart, cleaned, inspected, resealed, and repainted. Transfercase has new seals, new-New Process output shaft, new bearing, and yoke. Driveshaft has been rebuilt with new spicer U-joints, rebalanced and trued. Brakes are all new, new master cylinder, new shoes and pads, rotors and drums turned. Power steering box and pump were disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and resealed with new parts. Has new in-tank fuel pump and all new hoses. Radiator has been recored with new heavy duty 3 row core, biggest that will fit in stock tanks. Exhaust is custom built from aluminized mandrel bends and straight tubing, with stainless magnaflow mufflers. Interior has been redone, seat frame sandblasted and repainted, then new upholstery, dash and door panels redyed, new rubber floor mat. All wiring has been gone through, inspected, retaped, dielectric grease applied to all connections. Air conditioning blows ice cold, new compressor, dryer, evaporator, new hose. New heater core and heater control valve. I think I could go on and on, but I think I covered all the major stuff. Every single piece and part of this truck has been gone through. This isn't just another repainted truck with a new seat cover claiming to be restored. I did all the work myself, and had no intention of selling, so I didn't cut any corners. If you have any questions, or want more pictures of something please contact me. I have over 12,000 in this truck in just parts alone, not counting the hundred of hours of labor it takes to restore a vehicle to this level. The reserve is set at a realistic price, I know I wont get back all that I have in it. Old trucks are only worth so much, but someone who understands how much work it takes to do this, will know that they are getting it for a steal! Also comes with a spare wheel and tire, and another spare wheel, both painted and ready to go. Truck currently has about 12,000 miles on it since I finished it.

Stellantis ready to kill brands and fix U.S. problems, CEO Tavares says

Thu, Jul 25 2024

MILAN — Stellantis is taking steps to fix weak margins and high inventory at its U.S. operations and will not hesitate to axe underperforming brands in its sprawling portfolio, its chief executive Carlos Tavares said on Thursday. The warning for lossmaking brands is a turnaround for Tavares, who has maintained since Stellantis was created in 2021 from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA that all of its 14 brands including Maserati, Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep have a future. "If they don't make money, we'll shut them down," Carlos Tavares told reporters after the world's No. 4 automaker delivered worse-than-expected first-half results, sending its shares down as much as 10%. "We cannot afford to have brands that do not make money." The automaker now also considers China's Leapmotor as its 15th brand, after it agreed to a broad cooperation with the group. Stellantis does not release figures for individual brands, except for Maserati which reported an 82 million euro adjusted operating loss in the first half. Some analysts say Maserati could possibly be a target for a sale by Stellantis, while other brands such as Lancia or DS might be at risk of being scrapped given their marginal contribution to the group's overall sales. Stellantis' Milan-listed shares were down as much as 12.5% on Thursday, hitting their lowest since August 2023. That brings the loss for the year so far to 22%, making them the worst performer among the major European automakers. Few automotive brands have been killed off since General Motors ditched the unprofitable Saturn and Pontiac during a U.S. government-led bankruptcy in the global financial crisis in 2008. Tavares is under pressure to revive flagging margins and sales and cut inventory in the United States as Stellantis bets on the launch of 20 new models this year which it hopes will boost profitability. Recent poor results from global carmakers have heightened worries about a weakening outlook for sales across major markets such as the U.S., whilst they also juggle an expensive transition to electric vehicles and growing competition from cheaper Chinese rivals. Japan's Nissan Motor saw first-quarter profit almost completely wiped out on Thursday and slashed its annual outlook, as deep discounting in the United States shredded its margins. Tavares said he would be working through the summer with his U.S. team on how to improve performance and cut inventory.

Peugeot's American future looks dead, but Stellantis intends to keep all brands alive

Fri, Feb 12 2021

The years-old promise of a Peugeot return in the U.S. is looking bleaker by the second. Peugeot said the French brand would come back to sell cars in the U.S. five years ago, but now that FCA and PSA have transitioned to one Stellantis, that promise is looking a lot shakier. This news comes via a report from Car and Driver. When queried about Peugeot, Carlos Tavares, Stellantic CEO, offered this in response: “For the time being, I don't think that is part of the things that we want to prioritize for the next time window," Tavares said. "I think it's better that we funnel the talent, the capital, and the engineering capability of our Stellantis company to the existing brands to improve what needs to be improved and to accelerate where we need to accelerate, because we already have a very strong presence in this market." Tavares hasnÂ’t ruled it out entirely, but any kind of a Peugeot American renaissance is being pushed onto the backburner.  In good news for American brands, though, Tavares expressed great interest in keeping them all. Chrysler was the most worrisome of the bunch, as it only sells the aging 300 sedan and Pacifica minivan variants. Nevertheless, Tavares sees Chrysler as one of the “three historical pillars of Stellantis” and is eager “to give this brand a future.” Specifically, Tavares sees a high-tech future for the once-great American car company. Motor Trend reported on what Tavares spoke about in a call with the media. "It needs to rebound,” Tavares said. “We could think about what could be the next technologies in the automotive industry.” The obvious hint here is electrification and greater autonomy. Chrysler could theoretically become StellantisÂ’ electric showcase brand. ItÂ’s partway there with the Pacifica Hybrid PHEV minivan, but thereÂ’s still a long way to go for it to become the conglomerate's tech pillar. And then thereÂ’s Dodge and its powerful but emissions-heavy lineup. "We have the technology to deliver the torque, dynamics, and acceleration feeling, while also dramatically reducing the emissions," Tavares said. The Hellcat canÂ’t have a window-shattering 6.2-liter supercharged V8 forever, but it looks like Stellantis is at least committed to keeping the performance of DodgeÂ’s current lineup. Related video:
