1986 Dodge D150 Royal Se Pickup, 318cu, Auto, Lwb Original, Runs Good , Exc.body on 2040-cars
Pineville, Louisiana, United States
Up for sale is my father in laws 1986 Dodge D150 Royal SE pickup LWB. He passed away in 1996 and this truck has been mostly sitting for long periods of time started occasionally. Less than 1000 miles have been put on this truck during this time. THE GOOD> starts easy, runs a little rough at first with a slight miss that goes away in about 5 minutes and then runs very smooth. No taps, knocks or unusual noises. uses little to no oil. All electrical work, lights, blinkers, brake and backup lights, all other assy. ok unless noted below. Body is very straight. with no rust thru (area in bottom of bed where water stood has rust thru, see pictures.) trim and chrome in good shape with one piece on tailgate missing. Carpet will need cleaning, but no tears. Seat is in good condition, (not original) from base dodge pickup. Not as plush as original. Has tilt wheel, pwr window work but are a little sticky from lack of use. Brakes work good, I think they were rebuilt around 1999 by the mechanic down the road but a little unsure of details. Fresh oil change. Carb. rebuilt by local mechanic a year and half ago (less than 50 miles ago) does not run hot. improvements needed> left rear tire looses pressure after time, rest of tires ok. Headliner cloth missing but backing is still there and looks ok. Needs shocks (bounces) New shocks included but not installed (in boxes on the seat) windshield cracked and needs replacing. carpet stained but may cleanup ok. Original wheels were badly rusted and were replaced with Jeep wheels and appear to work and look ok. Horn will need replacing, it tries to blow but has been sitting too long. windshield wipers need replacement. No jack and spare needs air or repair? Tailgate tricky to open. windshield wipers will not work, just noticed today and unsure of problem. A/C does not work (I have never seen it work) but the compressor is there. I have tried to describe this truck as best as possible. This truck has set up for a long time and may have other issues I am not aware of. I have drove it a little lately and I think with a little work and TLC it could be road ready. ASK QUESTIONS. If in the local area, come look and drive (just down the road, expired insp. sticker 2003, and no insurance or plates). Call me on my cell during the day at 318-308-5035.(poor cell service at home) This is still a pretty nice long wheel base truck and should have a lot of life left. If making offer, don't be silly I am not in the need for money and am tired of seeing the old truck sit around and not being used and would rather sell it to someone who needs it. Email me thru e bay if needed. If you live a short distance, driving truck home may be a option, if long distances, a trailer is recommended. Truck has been sitting for quite a while. Payment- 500dollars thru paypal required within 24 hours. Rest of payment CASH at pickup. |

Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker and Mopar '14 Challenger up the retro appeal
Wed, 06 Nov 2013The reborn Dodge Challenger might be getting a bit long in the tooth, having been on the market in its current form since 2008, but Chrysler isn't going to give up on its brutish, full-size two-door just yet. For this year's SEMA Show, the Challenger will be getting a new Mopar edition, as well as a retro-cool shaker hood on the 5.7-liter, Hemi-equipped R/T models.
As we mentioned last night, the Shaker Package will cost $2,500, but includes the Super Track Pak (new steering rack, brake linings, upgraded shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car tires), a $595 option on its own. The shaker hood result in a performance bump of any kind, but the blacked-out, pop-up scoop is a nifty feature that hasn't been seen on a production car since the Ford Mustang Mach 1 in the early 2000s.
The Mopar '14 Challenger (pictured right) follows the cues of previous Mopar Editions, which have included the 2010 Challenger, 2011 Charger, 2012 300 and 2013 Dart. Only 100 Mopar '14 Challengers will be produced, and they'll include the new shaker hood, Mopar's distinctive blue graphics and wheels, and whatever is pilfered from the accessory catalog.
Chrysler investigating complaints of vehicles with faulty power modules
Sun, 24 Aug 2014Chrysler owners are hopping mad after experiencing a series of electrical gremlins in some of the company's vehicles. Issues range from mere annoyances - windows rolling down and radios turning off of their own accord - to serious safety issues, with headlights that randomly shut off at night and cars that stall and refuse to start.
The issues are being blamed on the total integrated power module, which can cost up to $1,000 for customers to replace. This, of course, has led to a hefty batch of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with 240 owners expressing their displeasure so far. Another site, CarComplaints.com, has registered over 300 complaints relating to the 2010 to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, alone, according to The New York Times.
Chrysler has acknowledged that it's investigating the complaints and is analyzing the faulty TIPMs, but that isn't quite enough for customers of the affected vehicles. The newspaper has snagged a few of the more harrowing tales with the electrically challenged Chrysler products, culled from the NHTSA complaints.
Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.
