1978 Dodge Warlock Power Wagon 4x4 Stepside Mopar Truck Rarer / Little Red 4 Spd on 2040-cars
Minden, Nevada, United States
This truck is being sold AS IS and must be picked up in Minden, Nevada within 30 days of auction end. It runs and yard drives, but has not been on the road in many years and will need to be trailered. Please ask questions before bidding if I have left something out of my description. It needs total restoration of all components and is missing whatever is not shown. In the late 70s they sold a lot of Dodge's Adult Toys including this all black Warlock Power Wagon 4 speed. I purchased from the original owner (still in Reno) a few years ago. It had been neglected and parked since the 90s. With a battery, fresh gas, and a fuel pump and filter, it fired right up. It is a 318 with a factory 4 speed, and 9.25 rear with Sure Grip and 3.55 gears. It still retained an original Carburetor, alternator, radiator, (fuel pump) and some of the hoses including the bypass. A very original engine compartment. I also changed the oil prior to starting. It runs and drives, but should be completely gone thru before driving on the road. It needs and deserves a total restoration, Including the engine, which has low oil pressure, and a small coolant leak at the timing cover but no unusual noises. Miles are unknown, it shows 12K and is at least 112. The original owner did not have any additional info or documentation. The body has a lot of dents. See pictures, and note the damage to the tailgate, driver's side cab, door, fenders, bumpers, chrome step grill etc. It still has it's original cert label showing a very late build of July 1978 and door vin tag. This is one of the last of the 78 Warlocks. Also note the placement of the Power Wagon hood emblems. Pushed back, and typical of the Late 78 utilines. You are looking at all original paint/stripes and the gold primer coming thru. The interior still has it's original black buckets, Tuff Wheel w/ 4x4 only adapter, and even original carpet, (cut to expose floors). The cab is as solid as they come with nothing but original black paint in the floor pans. The windshield and passenger side glass are damaged, originally factory tint. The truck still has it's four original 15/8 chrome slot wheels (same as lil red) and the original plastic center caps. It is missing the spare and the wood racks.. The frame is dry and straight with only the usual surface rust (even in the desert). The bed wood and strips are gone, replaced by plywood. The tires are ancient but hold air. If your looking for a Rare Power Wagon to restore, this is your truck. Clear Nevada title in my name and can be exported. It is sold AS IS where is, Minden Nevada 89423. It must be paid in full within 3 business days of auction close, and picked up within 30 days. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Please check your shipping costs and with your wife before bidding. This is a NO RESERVE auction selling to the highest bidder. Also..... There is a website devoted to The 70s Adult Toys by DODGE that is bringing fans together. www.MACHOPOWERWAGON dot com check it out! |

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392
Mon, Mar 9 2015I've just started reading the third installment in a planned five-book biography of Lyndon Baines Johnson, Master of the Senate, written by the incomparable Robert Caro. Conveniently, a recent trip to drive the BMW X6 M and 228i Convertible was to be staged in Austin, TX, within easy driving distance of LBJ's birthplace, Johnson City. And yes, the city is named for his family. Having completed my duties with the Bimmers, I borrowed the spangled 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 you see above, to squire me around the Texas capitol for a weekend, and as a lift out to the Hill Country homestead of our 36th President. Johnson City isn't exactly a road trip mecca, but there's a pretty good brewery, a museum, the reconstructed LBJ house to take snapshots of, and it's a nice drive to get out there if you've got a 485-horsepower muscle car at your disposal. Driving Notes With the heroic Hellcat, this 392 and the R/T Scat Pack (that Brandon Turkus reviewed recently), there are more SRT-treated Challengers to choose from than ever before. There are 707 obvious reasons that the Hellkitty is the top dog (as it were), but there are important difference between this 392 and the Scat Pack, too. Both cars make use of the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 putting out 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, but the 392 also gets an adaptive suspension, six-piston Brembo brake calipers (instead of four-piston), wider tires, leather and Alcantara seats, a heated steering wheel, a louder stereo and HID headlights. When LBJ was campaigning for his seat in the House of Representatives, he would've loved to have something as potent as this monster of a V8 under the hood of his canvassing car. The 6.4L snorts with authority before it sends the big coupe forward to just about any speed I'd ask of it, and with a quickness. Johnson was known for haranguing drivers to step on it, when all that stood between himself and a few more votes was the ability to fit one more stump speech into the day. The 392 feels as though it could cover a quarter of the state of Texas in a morning if you throttle down deep enough (faster even than the Johnson City Windmill, I'd guess). Though there's a six-speed manual available, I'm actually quite fond of the eight-speed automatic in the 392. The two-pedal setup better suits the fast-cruiser attitude of the car, and it never served up any poorly conceived shift logic when I left it in D. Of course, the roads are better now than they were in the 1930s and 40s, too.
NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
