Have a 1978 Li'l Red Express pick up. It has just over 81k miles the truck is in great shape for the age. The paint is in decent shape along with the interior. The engine could stand to be repainted but nothing to serious. This would be a great driver and show truck. It always turns heads when I'm out in it. Since I've owned the truck I installed the original stacks with factory tips, put a set of crager draglites with 10" rear wheels and skinnys on the front. The truck also has the factory am/fm/cb with the correct antenna. I do have the factory slotted mag wheels as well. This truck is a true factory muscle truck and real performer. Couldn't ask for a better driving vehicle.

This is one of the most unique trucks ever produced by Dodge. This was the fastest production vehicle out performing the corvettes and trans ams at that time. these trucks were produced because of a loophole in the emissions regulations. The Li'l Red Truck did not come with catalytic converters, what the Li'l Red's did have was a special high performance 360 C.I. 4-barrel small block engine, which was a modified version of the 360 police engine. The package also included hemi style mufflers with a crossover pipe breathing through 2 chrome stacks located behind the cab, a special 727 transmission and 3.55:1 rear gearing. There were 2,188 of the 1978s produced out of those there is an estimated 679 remaining. As the years go by these trucks are harder to come by that are original with the factory motor and transmission.

Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages

Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.

Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production

Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.
