Up for sale to is a clean 1977 Dodge W100 Power Wagon 4X4 SWB Short Bed pickup. This blast from the past is a nearly rust free Arizona vehicle and is in un-restored original condition. If you have ever wanted to get your hands on a 2nd generation Power Wagon, here is you chance. This Power Wagon is a true time capsule from the glory days of Detroit. It still has all it's emblems and most of it's chrome trim. Head lights, Tail lights, turn signals and windshield wipers are all in working condition. All windows roll up and down as they should and doors open/close/lock/unlock as they should. Tailgate opens and closes easily.

Under the hood is a 360 CID engine backed by a 727 automatic transmission. These 360 Dodge engines are notorious for withstanding the test of time and this 360 runs strong and the 3 speed automatic transmission shifts firmly and smoothly.

This Truck does need work and is priced accordingly. The rear drive shaft and rear end has been removed and is in need of being rebuilt and is now laying in the bed. The front wheels still engage and the truck is still drivable, but I would suggest driving it onto a trailer and hauling it home. The brake booster needs to be replaced but the brakes are still solid.

This Power Wagon would be a great restoration project, or just repair the rear end and brake booster and head for the back roads.

Options include: Factory A/C, power steering, power brakes, cigarette lighter, vinyl interior, cloth and vinyl bench seat (well worn on driver's side), after market Dodge rims,

This redesign of the W Series which began in 1972 and lasted until 1980 introduced a more modern look. This truck looks like it is made to be a work horse. This 1977 W100 has been in 1 family it's entire life and has been well kept. You could use it as your daily driver, use it for off roading, or save it for parades and car shows. Wherever you choose to drive this beauty, I guarantee you will turn heads, and start conversations. This truck is a pleasure to drive. And it's powerful 360 engine will take you where ever you want to travel, and get you there fast.

This 1977 Dodge 4X4 is now in search of a new owner. This is your chance to become the new caretaker of this time capsule from Detroit's glory days, If you purchase this classic you won't just be buying transportation. You will be investing in a piece of American history. Built back in the days when Detroit ruled the auto industry. Back when American Made meant built to last. And you will have this impressive piece of Detroit history to treasure, show off and enjoy for many years to come.

I count myself among the many classic car enthusiasts who love these Power Wagons from the 60's and 70's. I would love to restore this myself but I have been forced to face the realities of bad health and physical limitations and have decided to pass this on to some one who can appreciate it's value not only monetarily but also it's value historically. This truck has endless possibilities in the right hands.

I am open to and welcome all reasonable offers.

The Dodge Demon's massive drag tires are just barely street legal

Thu, Jan 26 2017

Despite the gaffe that was the Vin Dieselgate leak (no, not that one), Dodge and SRT are soldiering on with the twelve-part Dodge Demon rollout in the lead up to the car's reveal at the New York Auto Show. The Vin Diesel video showed what is almost assuredly the car's front, but now we get an official view of the Demon's rear in this week's video, "Wide Body." Along with the new view, Dodge shows off a cryptic license plate (Michigan #2576@35) and details on the Demon's tantalizing wheel and tire combo. That wheel and tire combo, meant to fill out the Demon's new wide wheel arches, is frankly impressive. Lightweight 18- by 11-inch wheels are wrapped in special Demon branded Nitto NT05R tires measuring an astounding 315/40R18 at all four corners. Not only does that trump the old Camaro Z/28's 305 section tires, it makes the Demon the first production car to come equipped from the factory with drag radials, claims Dodge. Presumably, the goal with the Demon is to provide enough power and grip to rotate the Earth underneath the car rather than propelling the car itself down a dragstrip. Beyond that, few other details were revealed. Dodge provided some vague information about how the "wide-body is laser clearanced, and the entire chassis is e-coated for durability before final assembly," but doesn't actually explain what that really means. We do know now that the flared fenders add 3.5 inches to the Demon's overall width. Overall, the car looks mean and purposeful, especially wrapped in just barely street-legal rubber. Follow along at www.ifyouknowyouknow.com and see if you can find and decipher all the hints. Related Video: Design/Style New York Auto Show Dodge Coupe Performance tires dodge demon dodge hellcat

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.

Buyer says Dodge dealer gave him wrong Charger, failed to notice for 2 months

Wed, Dec 31 2014

Mistakes happen, and they happen all the time. But when that mistake means a customer doesn't get what he or she paid for, something's gotta give. That's what one Dodge Charger buyer claims he is trying to sort out with his local dealership. Two months after taking delivery, the owner (going by the user name Dakrbouncer4689 on Reddit) says he got a call from his local Dodge dealership reporting a little problem. He had ordered and paid for the Charger SXT (pictured above on the dealer lot), but was given a Charger SE instead. The SE being the lower trim level, this presented one set of problems – namely a $2,000 discrepancy in equipment, like a five-speed automatic versus an eight-speed, a 4.3-inch infotainment display instead of 8.4, heated seats, leather steering wheel, premium audio, remote starter and so on. The second set of issues is that the VIN number on the paperwork (including the registration and insurance papers) of course doesn't match that of the car itself. The dealer, having obviously made a rather large mistake, apparently called the owner in to sort out the mess, but according to the customer's account, things didn't go as smoothly. Instead of immediately working to address the problem, the salesman kept the owner waiting, acted like it was no big deal, and offered only to swap the cars with no compensation for the trouble. Fortunately, the manager proved more sympathetic and apologetic, and offered the customer three options: he could swap the cars (re-doing the tinted windows on the SXT that the customer had done on the SE and throwing in leather seats for free), he could keep the SE (with the dealership handling the paperwork, throwing in the leather seats, adjusting the price and refunding an extra $400), or they could cancel everything, return the car and part company. As we go to press, the Charger owner had yet to make (or at least share) his decision. But while the principle of caveat emptor makes us wonder how he managed to take home a different car from the one he paid for, clearly the salesman and the dealership made a pretty large mistake by presenting him with the wrong set of keys and letting him off the lot without double checking it all.
