This is an original 440 shortbed Macho. Very few 440 Machos have turned up.
For more info check out machopowerwagon   dot com

I am still looking for a Blue 1980 for my collection, and would pay
a finders fee for info leading to getting one.

This truck is sold AS IS and is located in Minden, Nevada 89423.
The truck is from California, it is no longer smog compliant.
Please check your state, or local, or wife's requirements before bidding.
Shipping is the buyer's responsibility and expense. It runs and drives, but will need to be
trailered for transport. It has no exhaust system past the headers. It was
last registered in 1996, total miles are unknown. It needs complete restoration.

This original paint 77 Macho came from the factory with a 440 4 bbl motor.
The 5th character in the VIN being a D. It is also equipped with the police
style HD 100 amp alt and wiring. It has factory tinted windows, rear window slider, and a later
AM/FM/ 8 track not hooked up, and the larger 3 point mirrors. It is a very solid California truck still wearing it's blue and
yellow plates. It also has the optional cab tank which it is currently running on.
The motor got fresh oil/filter and was turned by hand before starting. There
is no warranty or guarantee and the buyer should assume that it needs to
be rebuilt, but it actually sounds (loud) smooth and responsive. The tranny operates
the brakes are working and the tires hold air. The windshield is cracked.

It has a clear title in my name and can be exported to Canada and other countries.
Please check your local requirements, shipping costs etc before bidding.
In the past 5 years I have assisted in exporting trucks to Europe, New Zealand,
Scandinavia, the Middle East, and Canada. I can recommend reliable transport
in the US, and can recommend a very good co in Oakland Ca, that ships to
Europe.

The truck Runs and drives but as the pictures show, needs complete restoration.
The motor has headers with no exhaust system. The gauges and some of the lights
do not work, the window mechs are broken. The seats need reupholstery,
The body has minimal rust in the bed wheel lips, the lower front fenders
and some in the floor pans. The carpet was removed to show what "minimal rust"
looks like. It also has dents most notably drivers front fender and door and the
front pass side of the bed along with various dings. The tailgate has broken welds and
a broken pivot, The Rollbar had the supports cut, and needs repair, the bed floor. has
has some scale, and various dings. I have more pictures if you ask. The engine
has an Edelbrock carb, and a later wiring harness. It is missing whatever you don't see
in the pictures. The wheels are 15 inch aftermarket, they are similar to the original
wagon wheel style, There is no spare. The steering wheel adapter can is damaged
but still works.

The frame has scale but is very solid, as are the rear cab corners/mounts, and
the roof is also nice and solid.

If you're familiar with these trucks, you'll know this is what you want to start
with for a restoration.

I have an album with 50 plus additional pics, please ask for it with your email
and any other questions.

It is Sold AS IS. Buy it now requires a 500$ non refundable deposit by Paypal
with the balance to be paid within 5 days. The truck must be picked up in
Minden Nevada 89423 within 30 days.

If you are outside the US and have questions about purchasing and getting
it shipped please ask. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility but I am glad to
offer reasonable assistance.

Did I mention that this is an Original 440 MACHO ?

Dodge offers 100 years of solid advice in new ad

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

This is a cool ad. Dodge, which is celebrating its centennial this year, recruited some of its peers to see what you should and shouldn't do in life. Of course, some are obvious - don't complain, learn from your mistakes and live for now.
Then again, some are less obvious. Some, actually, are downright awesome. Towards the end, each piece of advice is interspersed with clips of Dodge's redesigned Challenger smoking its tires. Really, this ad feels like it'd be worthy of a Super Bowl spot. This commercial's personal nature is really in keeping with some of the big game's most interesting ads, like the Imported From Detroit commercial, the Farmer ad and Maserati's surprise clip from this year's game.
Take a look below and let us know what you think.

China's Great Wall confirms its interest — in Jeep, or all of FCA

Tue, Aug 22 2017

HONG KONG/SHANGHAI — Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor reiterated its interest in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV on Tuesday, but said it had not held talks or signed a deal with executives at the Italian-American automaker. China's largest sport utility vehicle manufacturer made a direct overture to Fiat Chrysler on Monday, with an official saying the company was interested in all or part of FCA, owner of the Jeep and Ram truck brands. Automotive News first reported the news, quoting Great Wall Motor President Wang Fengying as saying she planned to contact FCA to discuss acquiring the Jeep brand specifically. Those comments sent FCA shares higher but also raised questions over the ability of China's seventh-largest automaker by sales to buy larger Western rival FCA, or even Jeep, which some analysts value at as much as one-and-a-half times FCA. Great Wall sought to dampen speculation on Tuesday. It confirmed it had studied Fiat Chrysler, but said there was "no concrete progress so far" and "substantial uncertainty" over whether it would eventually bid. "The company has not built any relationship with the directors of FCA nor has the company entered into any discussion or signed any agreements with any officer of FCA so far," the company said in an English-language stock exchange filing. It did not give further detail. Fiat Chrysler stock dipped on the statement on Tuesday. Great Wall said trading in its Shanghai-listed shares would resume on Wednesday after having been suspended. Fiat Chrysler declined to comment on Great Wall's statement. On Monday, it said it had not been approached and was fully committed to implementing its current business plan. FLUSHING OUT RIVALS? Great Wall Motor, which was early to spot China's love of SUVs, had revenue of $14.8 billion last year and sold 1.07 million vehicles - but that compares with FCA's 2016 revenue of 111 billion euros ($130.6 billion). Analysts said Great Wall would need to raise both debt and equity to complete any deal, meaning its chairman Wei Jianjun could lose majority control. One possible scenario, according to analysts at Jefferies, would see Wei keeping a roughly 30 percent stake, while Great Wall would raise $10-$14 billion in debt and $10 billion in equity - hefty for a group currently worth just $16 billion. Ultimately, politics could be the clincher.

8 things you learn while driving a cop car [w/videos]

Tue, Jan 27 2015

Let me start off with the obvious: it is absolutely illegal to impersonate a police officer. And now that that's out of the way, I'd just like to say that driving a cop car is really, really cool. Here's the background to this story: Dodge unveiled its redesigned 2015 Charger Pursuit police cruiser, and kindly allowed Autoblog to test it. That meant fellow senior editor Seyth Miersma and I would spend a week with the cop car, and the goal here was to see just how different the behind-the-wheel experience is, from a civilian's point of view. After all, it's not technically a police car – it isn't affiliated with any city, it doesn't say "police" anywhere on it, and it's been fitted with buzzkill-worthy "NOT IN SERVICE" magnets (easily removed for photos, of course). But that meant nothing. As Seyth and I found out after our week of testing, most people can't tell the difference, and the Charger Pursuit commands all the same reactions as any normal cop car would on the road. Here are a few things we noticed during our time as wannabe cops. 1. You Drive In A Bubble On The Highway Forget for a moment that our cruiser was liveried with Dodge markings instead of those of the highway patrol. Ignore the large "NOT IN SERVICE" signs adhered around the car. Something in the lizard brain of just about every licensed driver tells them to hold back when they see any hint of a cop car, or just the silhouette of a light bar on a marked sedan. Hence, when driving on the highway, and especially when one already has some distance from cars forward and aft, a sort of bubble of fear starts to open up around you. Cars just ahead seem very reluctant to pass one another or change lanes much, while those behind wait to move up on you until there's a full herd movement to do so. The effect isn't perfect – which is probably ascribable to the aforementioned giveaways that I'm not really a cop – but it did occur on several occasions during commutes from the office. 2. You Drive In A Pack In The City My commute home from the Autoblog office normally takes anywhere from 25 to 30 minutes, and it's a straight shot down Woodward Avenue from Detroit's north suburbs into the city, where I live. Traffic usually moves at a steady pace, the Michigan-spec "five-over" speed.
