Got a nice, old Dodge Truck up for bid today. 1966 D100. Slant 6, A/T with the shifter on the dash. all metal dash and door panels. All glass is good and windows and vents work well. The motor runs but needs carb work. It is sucking air somewhere cause it'll only run with the choke closed off. I just got it to run good enough and long enough to get it off the trailer. Dont smoke or rattle though. Trans engages in reverse and drive, havent had a chance to get it out on the road n run through the gears yet but the previous owner said it worked as well. He just quit driving it when the carb started acting up. Body is pretty straight, Bed beat up on the inside(my guess an old work truck) but mostly still good. Some rust thru(in the bed) behind the driver where the floor meets the side and a couple other small places back there. Has a patch on the drivers side floorboard(about 2x2) Passenger floor is still original. Still very solid under the seats and under the hood. Just a little under the battery tray. A little rust on the very front of the hood under the dodge emblems. I dont think theres much rust at all for a 47 yr old vehicle.Great candidate for a restore or you could do a little work and drive the thing. The radiator isnt original but its hooked up and works, no wiper blades on it but the motor and actuators run fine Headlights, taillights, turn signals, dash lights, blower control and all on the inside still functional. The shifter works well and feels like the linkage is nice n tight. I took a bunch more pics of this trucks. Please contact me and lemme get em all to ya before you make your mind up on it. Only trying to give a good overview of it here. Feel free to ask me to take pics of anything in particular you would like to see. $250 non refundable deposit due via Paypal within 48hrs of auction end. Balance due in cash on delivery. Buyer responsible for transportation of the truck. I could possibly deliver it for a fee we negotiate if you're within a couple hours of me. I have the original seat and 3 original wheels with it too. The seat is a frame at best but it might still be salvageable. Thanks for looking..

Dodge engineers trying to shoehorn Pentastar into Dart?
Tue, 19 Nov 2013The fact that the Dart's launch has been a pretty dismal affair isn't what we'd call secret. Judging by its mounting inventories and poor critical reception, Dodge's successor to its unloved Caliber has struggled since it hit the market. And while both of those are difficult problems to address, at least their cause is well known - the powertrain.
Even Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has acknowledged that the powertrain options in the Dart are substandard, admitting at January's Detroit Auto Show that the powertrains are "less than ideal." Leading with the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Fiat 500 Abarth left a bad taste in the mouths of consumers thanks to the laggy engine and dead throttle response (to say nothing of the manual and dual-clutch gearboxes that needed more refinement). The addition of the 184-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark in the Dart GT has helped matters some, but apparently Auburn Hills doesn't think it's quite enough.
If rumors are to be believed - get that salt ready - a possible solution may be in the works. A report from Allpar is claiming that Dodge is considering fitting a Pentastar V6 into the Dart's engine bay. As the Mopar-obsessed website points out, the critically acclaimed Pentastar is available in three different sizes - 3.0 liters, 3.2 liters and the original 3.6 liters. We don't get the 3.0 here in the US, but the 3.2 can be found in the new Jeep Cherokee and the 3.6 has been seemingly fitted to every model Chrysler can shoehorn it into.
Dodge Hellcat orders on hold due to 'unprecedented demand'
Sun, Mar 15 2015Want to get your hands on a 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger or Charger Hellcat to call your very own? We don't blame you, and you're not alone. According to Motor Authority and confirmed by a spokesperson from Chrysler, Dodge has gotten so many orders for its stable of Hellcats that it simply cannot keep up with demand: "Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system." Put another way, if you're waiting for a Hellcat, your wait is likely to be a lot longer than you'd like. We've reached out to Chrysler to find out how long it might take for a new customer to get a new Hellcat, and we'll update if and when we hear back. Mopar '14 teased, returns to Challenger
Wed, 16 Oct 2013Every year, Mopar selects one special vehicle from the Chrysler portfolio and creates its own, one-off, special edition. Previously, there was the Mopar '13 Dart, '12 300, '11 Charger and the '10 Challenger, and for 2014, this teaser image shows that the company will be giving the unique treatment to Dodge's muscle coupe yet again.
Mopar has not revealed any details about its '14 Challenger, though the brand's president and CEO, Pietro Gorlier, says that "This limited-edition ride is for muscle-car fans who love high octane and customizable performance." All we know is, it's white, has some blue stripes, and a black (or carbon fiber) rear spoiler.
We'll know more when the Mopar '14 Challenger is revealed at the SEMA show in early November. In the meantime, click the image above to check out the teaser in high resolution, and have a look below for Chrysler's official press blast.
